Chiang Mai & Bangkok Hotel Recommendations (Best Value, Stunning Pools) BEST 5
Let’s dive into the honest reviews! !!
Location: Right in the heart of Nimmanhemin
Super close to Chiang Mai Airport—only a 15-minute drive.
The first thing you see when you walk in is the pool.
While it's on the cozier side,
you can enjoy your breakfast right by the water,
or even get some work done on your laptop. Talk about ultimate relaxation! 🌊
It gave me that instant, magical feeling of:
"Ah, I’m finally in Chiang Mai!"
The staff were incredibly friendly, and the lobby was spacious and welcoming.
The room was spacious and in great condition,
but there was just one catch...
The inevitable noise of Nimmanhemin! .. !!! ✈️
(Because of its proximity to the airport, almost all hotels in Nimmanhemin have this issue)
Personally, I'm a super light sleeper,
so even with earplugs, drifting off was a bit of a challenge.
But honestly, stuffing myself with their delicious breakfast for two days
made me completely forget about the noise. No regrets at all! ^^
(Surrendered to my inner foodie.)
When I booked, it was around ~$45 a night,
and rates around April hover around ~$51-$58 a night
✅ If you want a tasty breakfast, a cozy aesthetic pool,
and a budget-friendly stay in Nimmanhemin,
highly recommended!!

The place I stayed at in between, iroom, had a nice cozy guesthouse vibe,
but it wasn't quite stellar enough to recommend, so let's cool pass - !! on that one.
Location: Located inside Chiang Mai Old Town
Within walking distance, 15-minute drive from the international airport
The fruit selection was insane... The mangoes and apples were so fresh!
There were so many different drink and food options 🥭🍉🍍
What I actually ate while traveling solo, haha
ㅋㅋㅋㅋ
Seriously, this place is absolutely legendary for its breakfast alone.
Everything I actually ate while traveling solo lol
They especially offer vegan breakfast options,
and I was so shocked at how delicious vegan food could be!
You can order as many dishes as you want, one by one, which made me so happy.
Even got to hang out with a cute cat
The room condition was also great and spacious,
and moving from Nimmanhemin to the Old Town felt like a breath of fresh air because of how quiet it was. (Tip: I asked for a quiet room in advance!)
Finally got some deep sleep after two days ~~💤 The bed was so cozy.
The swimming pool looked gorgeous,
but it was a bit shallow and small, so I didn't actually swim in it.
One thing to note: walking around late at night might feel
a bit darker compared to other areas,
and there’s no passenger elevator, but they do have a luggage-only lift, so it wasn't a big deal. For me, checkout was at 11 AM, which felt a little early.
But
the room was in great shape, it was super quiet at night, and the breakfast was so incredibly delicious that I’d happily stay here again just for the food.
Prices start around ~$45 per night for April!

📍 Green Tiger House - Plant-Based Hotel

Location: Located in Chiang Mai Old Town
A modern Chiang Mai hotel built in 2021
No long explanations needed—
this single photo of the pool above says it all... 🤍🩵
It definitely had that "treated myself" vibe,
and the pool was huge and the atmosphere did all the work..!
The harmony between the hotel architecture and the pool is so beautiful
that it's the perfect spot to take photos of a lifetime, and there's plenty of space to swim. ✨
You get to choose your breakfast style
at check-in, and the plate I had before heading out on a tour was absolutely delicious.
Plus, the restaurant vibe was so lovely.
Total aesthetic goals that anyone would fall in love with!
The room was pure clean perfection,
and the exterior had a slightly palatial feel.
Moving here right after Bed Nimman really made me realize: yep, you get what you pay for! haha.
When I booked, it was around ~$102 per night,
and the lowest rate for late March is currently showing around ~$90.
With an atmosphere this good, it definitely stands out, doesn't it?!
As you can see in the photos, I barely bumped into any other guests
and had the pool completely to myself to splash around as much as I wanted! 🏊🏻♀️
With delicious breakfast and a wonderful evening vibe,
it's no wonder this is such a popular spot in the Old City.

Check out the lowest rates for Burirattana Hotel
📍 Burirattana Hotel
115 1-5 Rachadamnoen Rd, Tambon Si Phum, Mueang Chiang Mai District, Chiang Mai 50200 Thailand
Location: A boutique hotel nestled in the heart of the Old City
The vibe was absolutely magical from the moment I stepped through the entrance...
It was radiating pure Chiang Mai charm! 🌿☘️🌴
The swimming pool, beautifully surrounded
by lush, vibrant greenery, really made me feel like
"I'm finally on vacation in Thailand!" 🌿
The aesthetics here were simply off the charts... I still keep thinking about it. 🙃
Because twin beds are so popular, none were available initially,
so I kept checking and requested one until the last minute.
Luckily, they had one last-minute opening and switched my room. The staff here are incredibly sweet!!!!
They even packed a breakfast box for me
when I told them I'd miss breakfast due to an early departure on my last day... It was so delicious eating it at the airport!
However, since it's a smaller boutique hotel with a limited number of rooms,
booking early is definitely a must to get the specific room type you want!
When I visited, I booked it for around ~$77, and the lowest rate for March is showing in the ~$90 range.
While places like Burirattana or Villa Klang Wiang are slightly pricier due to their top-notch facilities,
they still offer incredible value
at an amazing price point, still in the ~$64 range!

Since I was traveling solo,
I spent a longer time in Chiang Mai before moving on to Bangkok.
Here is the insanely budget-friendly Bangkok hotel where I actually stayed!
Since I spent most of my time sightseeing and being out and about in Bangkok,
I searched high and low for a hotel that offered great value for money.
As you can see in the photos, not only was the room in great condition,
but the exterior also felt very safe and neat!
It's a bit small, but there's a gym you can use,
and when you check in, you can choose a breakfast option,
and they'll cook it fresh to your liking..!
The breakfast was so delicious that I enjoyed it both mornings,
and since it was served indoors, it was clean, hygienic, and wonderfully cool! ,, 👍🏻
There was nobody else at the pool,
so we got to swim and splash around to our heart's content on this day too!
I still can't forget that blissful moment
lying on those sunbeds and just relaxing (even though the sun was blazing hot...) 🔥🔥
The color of the pool tiles?
It was a gorgeous, glittering emerald color—absolutely stunning.
(Make sure to put on some goggles and look underwater! It makes swimming so much more fun~)
It was incredibly clean, without a single bug in sight.
✅ Can you believe this was only in the ~$45 range per night?
Even now, the price hasn't gone up much, starting in the ~$38 range!
Go check it out right now—let's go! - !

BEST 5 Chiang Mai & Bangkok Hotel Recommendations (Value & Pool)
We've explored 5 incredible hotels. Here's a quick recap to sum it up:
BED Nimman - Located in Nimmanhemin, ultimate value for money, delicious breakfast, and a beautiful pool. But there could be some street noise due to the location. (Around ~$45)
Green Tiger House - Absolutely worth visiting for the breakfast alone. They offer a separate vegan menu, and you can order whatever you like.
Hands down, one of the best hotel breakfasts I've ever had.
If you request a quiet room, it's incredibly peaceful.
But check-out is at 11 AM, and there is no passenger elevator (though there's a luggage lift, so your bags are covered!).
(Around ~$45)
Burirattana - Located in the Old Town, a very modern hotel that feels genuinely luxurious. It has the largest-feeling pool out of the five, delicious breakfast, and a great vibe.
But it might lack a bit of that traditional, rustic Chiang Mai charm.
(Around ~$64)
Villa Klang Wiang - Beautifully designed with resort vibes right from the entrance. The pool is surrounded by lush greenery,
and there are plenty of hidden photo spots throughout the resort.
But with only a few rooms available, you need to book early! (Around ~$64)
Two Three A Homely Hotel - Unbeatable value in Bangkok! They cook breakfast to your liking, there's a gym, and the pool is sparkling clean. But the rooms and pool area might feel a bit cozy to some. (Around ~$38-$45)
Pretty handy summary, right?
Both Chiang Mai & Bangkok were amazing,
but Chiang Mai wins it for me! 🇹🇭

Chiang Mai Travel Guide (Cooking Class + Elephant Sanctuary Tour) Highly Recommended Attractions!
It is highly accessible, located about a 15-minute drive from Chiang Mai Airport. However, due to the nature of the Nimmanahaeminda area being close to the airport, there may be airplane noise, so light sleepers should take note.
Its main feature is offering a customized breakfast where you can order your preferred menu, including vegan options. The check-out time is 11:00 AM, which is slightly earlier compared to other accommodations.
At the time of booking by the author, it was ~$102 per night, and the lowest price as of late March is in the ~$90 range. As a new hotel with a large swimming pool and excellent facilities, its price range is somewhat higher than other budget-friendly accommodations.
If you cannot have breakfast at the restaurant on your last day due to an early departure, the staff will pack it as a lunch box if you request it in advance. Since it is a boutique hotel with a limited number of rooms, making an advance reservation is essential to get your preferred room.
It is a budget-friendly accommodation that can be booked for ~$38 to ~$45 per night. It features an indoor breakfast restaurant that cooks to your taste, a somewhat small but usable gym, and a clean swimming pool.
