Berkeley Hotel Pratunam Review: 5-Star Bangkok Stay
Looking for affordable 5-star luxury in Bangkok? Read our honest review of The Berkeley Hotel Pratunam, featuring room comparisons, pricing, and tips.
Bangkok is absolutely packed with incredible places to stay. I’ve personally stayed everywhere from budget-friendly spots near Asok Station for around ~$13 a night to luxurious 5-star hotels. Out of all of them, "The Berkeley Hotel Pratunam" easily ranks in my top three most memorable stays, and today, I'm excited to introduce it to you!

Check-out: 12:00 PM

When you think of a 5-star hotel, you probably picture a hefty price tag to match the VIP treatment. However, at the Berkeley Hotel, you can actually book a stay starting in the early ~$64 range per night!
Location

The Berkeley Hotel Pratunam is located about a 10-minute walk from the BTS Chitlom Station. While it might not be right next door to the transit lines, it's absolutely perfect for a relaxing staycation. You have the Big C Supercenter nearby for easy shopping, plus the massive CentralWorld mall right around the corner. In the evening, you can easily stroll over to the Pratunam Night Market!

With so much fierce competition among Bangkok hotels, it’s honestly amazing how they maintain such affordable rates. From the rooms and pool to the breakfast buffet, absolutely everything was spot-on.
The Berkeley Hotel consists of two buildings: the Main Tower and the North Tower, and you can choose between them when booking. The price difference is only about ~$6, which is barely anything. If you're booking, I highly recommend going with the Main Tower for better views and fresher, more modern interiors.
Main Tower Executive Room

The Berkeley Hotel offers a wide range of rooms that can comfortably accommodate anywhere from 2 to 4 guests.
If you're traveling as a duo, I highly recommend the "Main Tower Executive Room" where I stayed. It gives you access to all the fantastic perks of a 5-star hotel. For groups of 3 or 4, the "Premier Family Bunk Bed" or "Luxury Quadruple Room" would be perfect choices.
As of Aug 28 (Breakfast Incl.) | Agoda | Yeogi Eottae | Trip.com |
Luxury (Main Tower) | ~$80 | ~$83 (Breakfast Excl.) | ~$88 |
Executive (Main) | ~$99 | ~$116 | - |

The towels and flowers on the bed gave us a wonderfully warm (and dramatic!) welcome. They went so all-out with the decor that it almost felt like a shame to mess it up! haha

My name was even displayed on the TV screen! Aside from watching YouTube and Netflix, you can use it to order room service and browse the hotel's amenities.

I couldn't resist snacking on some welcome fruit right away before continuing my room tour. The fruit wasn't bland at all—it was perfectly ripe and sweet!

What sets this apart from the standard Luxury Room is the extra little space between the bedroom and the bathroom. It comes fully equipped with a capsule coffee machine, two bottles of water, tea, and even wine glasses.

Hand wash, shampoo, conditioner, cotton swabs, and soap are provided, but you'll need to bring your own personal toiletries. Since most places are phasing out single-use plastics these days, it's best to pack your own dental kit and razor. If you forget anything, you can easily grab extras at the Big C right across the street from the hotel.

Here is the day and night city view of Bangkok! Just like staying in the heart of a bustling metropolis, the city lights stay bright until the early hours of the morning. Thankfully, the soundproofing was excellent, and the bed was incredibly plush, so I slept like an absolute baby.

You can even order breakfast right to your room. They have a dedicated room service breakfast menu available from 6:00 AM to 10:30 AM,

And they serve a massive variety of options, from traditional Thai dishes to sandwiches, fried snacks, burgers, steaks, pizza, and even sushi!
Breakfast

I did things the right way and woke up early to grab some breakfast. Adding breakfast to your room booking only costs about ~$10 more than the room-only rate, so I highly recommend going for it!

Everything from fresh fruits and crisp salads to a wide selection of breads and pastries is ready to kickstart your day.

Lately, Bangkok has seen a huge rise in travelers from India, so they also had flavorful curries and fresh naan on offer. It pretty much check off all the boxes for a classic hotel buffet breakfast.

None of the dishes disappointed; everything tasted well above average. The freshly made rice noodle soup was a personal favorite!
The Swimming Pool

If you're planning a trip to Bangkok, treating yourself to some poolside relaxation is an absolute must! The pool at The Berkeley Hotel is beautifully maintained, and swimming between the towering skyscrapers offers an incredible city view.

The pool is open from 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM, giving you plenty of time to take a dip. I usually head to the pool in the afternoon to beat the heat right after checking in, but morning and evening swims have their own unique vibes, too. You can enjoy a relaxing swim whenever suits your schedule!

That wraps up my introduction to The Berkeley Hotel Pratunam—a fantastic, budget-friendly 5-star hotel located right near Bangkok's Chit Lom BTS Station. Whether you're traveling solo and looking for an affordable staycation, planning a couple's getaway, or traveling with a family of four, this hotel is a perfect choice. Definitely keep it on your radar for your next Bangkok adventure!
