✔️ Tips for BCD Soon Tofu & Managing the Wait
— I'll cover it all for you!
1. Location & Accessibility of BCD Soon Tofu, a Koreatown Gem in LA
📍 BCD Soon Tofu
3575 Wilshire Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90010 미국
The original BCD Soon Tofu in LA is perfectly situated
right in Koreatown, making it
incredibly easy to get to.

It's just a quick 3-minute walk from popular spots like The Line Hotel
(where many travelers stay!) and the AVIS car rental branch,
so the location couldn't be better.
⏰ Operating Hours: 7:00 AM - 3:00 AM
☑️ Closed: Open All Year Round
BCD Soon Tofu, one of LA's must-visit spots,
boasts impressively long operating hours.
Since it's such a popular spot,
there can be a bit of a wait. But here's a pro tip:
if you nail the timing, you can snag a table right away
without any queueing!

And there's plenty of seating inside!
Fun fact: I walked right in without any wait at all!
I'll share my visit time further down the post!
Parking at BCD Soon Tofu LA
Good to know: there's a dedicated parking lot right in front of the restaurant.
It's quite spacious, so you'll usually find plenty of spots without any parking wait!
Parking is absolutely free to use!
2. Menu Highlights at BCD Soon Tofu, an LA Dining Gem

Ordering from the BCD Soon Tofu menu is super easy.
Seriously, no stress at all!
With friendly Korean-speaking staff, you can easily order in Korean,
and yes, there's even a Korean menu available!
But don't think it's just a hotspot for Koreans;
you'll see plenty of locals happily enjoying their meals too!
<📌 BCD Soon Tofu Menu Recommendations>
Menu | Original Price (KRW) | US Dollar (USD) |
LA Galbi | 42,000 | ~$29 |
Seafood Soon Tofu | 26,000 | ~$18 |
Dolsot Bibimbap | 32,000 | ~$22 |
✅ Pro-tip: From 11 AM to 3 PM on weekdays, you can snag combo menus with a ~$3-~$5 discount!
✅ Remember, tipping is customary and expected at BCD Soon Tofu in LA.
Expect a minimum of 15% to be applied, plus VAT.

It's true that a BCD Soon Tofu dish that might cost around ~$7 in Korea is
more than double the price here in the US, which might feel a little steep at first glance.
But trust me, once you take that first bite,
you'll instantly realize it's the real deal and absolutely worth every penny!

The basic side dishes are varied, and just like in Korea, they're refillable!

Best of all, the rice comes in a hot stone pot (dolsotbap)!
Plus, it felt like the portions were even more generous.

Personally, I feel like LA Galbi is more about the experience, but the Dolsot Bibimbap and Sundubu Jjigae are definitely worth savoring!

The combination of the flavorful, not-too-spicy Dolsot Bibimbap and the hearty, spicy Bukchangdong Sundubu Jjigae pairs incredibly well!!

I've tried all three of the dishes mentioned above, and I can confidently say this is an LA hotspot that's totally worth enjoying on your LA trip!
4. Waiting Tips for Bukchangdong Sundubu in Koreatown
Bukchangdong Sundubu has long operating hours, but because it's such a popular eatery in LA's Koreatown, there's usually a bit of a wait.
People even wait to eat at 10 PM – that tells you everything you need to know.
As a side note, I managed to eat without any wait and enjoyed a relaxed meal.
If you visit around 10 AM on a weekday, you'll be golden! At that time, there are fewer locals and tourists, so it's surprisingly uncrowded.
The food also comes out quite quickly, so you can enjoy your meal without any fuss.
However, since it's not lunch hour,
discounts aren't available...!
Please keep that in mind!
5. How to Tip at LA's Bukchangdong Sundubu

Even though it's a Korean restaurant,
tipping at LA's Bukchangdong Sundubu is a thing.
Tipping is simple:
1️⃣ Order your menu items and enjoy your delicious meal.
2️⃣ When you're mostly finished,
ask a staff member for your receipt.
3️⃣ Pay the amount on the receipt + your desired tip.
⚠️ Keep in mind that your desired tip should start from
the minimum amount suggested on the receipt.
At LA's Bukchangdong Sundubu, tips started at
15%, and you can pay based on your satisfaction.
For 4 of us, including tip, the bill came out to around ~$90.
We ordered 1 Combo, 1 Sundubu, and LA Galbi
:)
6. Wrapping Up

Honestly, when people talk about LA travel foodie spots,
Bukchangdong Sundubu in Koreatown is often a top pick.
If you're on a long trip and craving some Korean food,
the taste is absolutely fantastic and makes it worth a visit!!!!
However, the prices can feel a bit steep compared to Korea,
so I would gently suggest perhaps trying other American cuisine during that time instead.
🥹🥹 But hey, I still ate it! Hehe.
The taste is excellent.
So far, I've shared information about LA Koreatown's top eatery,
Bukchangdong Sundubu's menu, review, and tips!
