- Travel from Barcelona to Paris via plane, train, or bus.
- Flights take approximately 2 hours; trains take about 7 hours.
- One-way flights with checked luggage can cost around ~$113.

When traveling from Barcelona to Paris, you have a few options:
train, plane, or bus.
For my trip, I chose to fly round-trip.
Let's break down the fares and travel times for each mode of transport,
along with my review of the flight to Paris!
How to Get from Barcelona to Paris

Mode of Transport | One-Way Fare | Travel Time | Pros | Cons |
Train | ~$53~ | Approx. 7 hours | City center to city center travel | Can be expensive if booked late |
Bus | ~$23~ | 13+ hours | Relatively affordable | Long travel time, very tiring |
Plane | ~$60~ | Approx. 2 hours | Short flight time | Long airport transfer and wait times Consider baggage fees |

While flying gets you there in about 2 hours,
you'll need to factor in time to get from your accommodation to the airport,
and then from the arrival airport to the city center.
Plus, while a quick search might show fares starting around ~$60,
the price can jump to around ~$113 if you include checked baggage.
The bus might be the cheapest option, but the travel time is incredibly long,
so I wouldn't recommend it!

Even though the train ride is longer than a flight,
it's quite convenient as it departs from Barcelona Sants Station in the city center
and is a direct route to Paris Gare de Lyon.

However, with European trains, as the departure date approaches,
it can become harder to find affordable tickets,
so it's best to book quickly once your itinerary is set.

I usually use Klook when booking European trains,
but currently, Trip.com seems to be much cheaper.
Fares are typically around ~$75, but you might find late-night tickets for around ~$53.
Barcelona to Paris Flight Prices

I flew Air France for my Barcelona - Paris trip,
taking a round-trip flight which cost ~$210 per person.
While there are many budget airlines like Vueling and Transavia,
meeting their baggage weight limits can be tricky,
and after reading reviews, their ratings weren't great.
So, I decided to pay a little extra and book with the more reputable
Air France.

However, not all budget airline reviews are bad, so if you're thinking 'I'll be fine!',
don't hesitate to consider Vueling or Transavia.
They are indeed cheaper... you know!

Air France Review

With Air France, everything from your boarding pass to baggage check-in
is self-service. Luckily, the machines supported Korean, so it wasn't too difficult.
I was a bit worried since it's a French airline,
but the staff were friendly, and even though my luggage was 0.5kg over the limit,
they let it through without any fuss.

The leather seats were quite narrow.
On the bright side, there were charging ports,
and I could even use in-flight Wi-Fi!

Even though it was a short flight, they offered cookies and drinks.
Everyone was incredibly kind, making the flight enjoyable even before we landed in Paris.
It was a truly delightful flight experience.
Of course, on the return flight, my luggage was
delayed, which caused a bit of a hiccup! ^^
Between picking up my luggage, getting a taxi, and reaching the hotel,
it took about 3 hours 30 minutes to 4 hours in total.
Given how short the actual flight time was, I'd definitely consider flying again for inter-country travel in Europe.
