Swimming, Water Play, and Mudflat Fun at Daebudo's Bangameori Beach

At the beach entrance, you'll find a lush tree-lined area, perfect for relaxing in the shade. Many visitors choose to unwind here before heading to the water.
I grabbed some pastries and snacks before my beach visit and enjoyed them under the cool canopy of trees – highly recommended!
Look for the stairs that lead directly down to the beach, and you're all set for some fun in the sun!

The sandy beach is incredibly wide, ensuring it never feels cramped even on busy weekends. The sand is wonderfully soft, perfect for walking barefoot, but do remember that aqua shoes or other protective footwear are essential near the water's edge!
You're welcome to bring your own tents or parasols, but please note that only open-sided, 4-sided tents are permitted ( •̀ ω •́ )✧
For an extra thrill, you'll find paragliding experiences available nearby, adding another unique activity to your beach day!

One of Bangameori Beach's biggest draws is its ability to offer two distinct experiences depending on the tides! It's truly a versatile Daebudo beach.
At high tide, the water depth is just right for swimming and splashing around. When the tide recedes, the vast mudflats are exposed, perfect for walking and even clam digging! ㅎㅎ
The water is shallow near the shore and gradually deepens further out, making it safe and enjoyable for everyone from young children to adults to swim at their comfort level. Everyone looks like they're having a blast! 😍

On the mudflats, you can find clams and crabs! If you bring your own tools, you can enjoy the mudflat experience without any extra cost. ㅎㅎ
A crucial tip for your mudflat adventure:
There are so many crabs, especially near the waterline, so I highly recommend wearing aqua shoes or other protective footwear! You'll thank me later!
Even at high tide, many crabs are washed ashore by the waves, making it easy to catch them. While it's a fun and simple mudflat experience, I was a bit worried about getting pinched by those feisty little crustaceans! 😂
Washing Areas, Restrooms, and Shower Facilities at Bangameori Beach

After a fun day of water activities, having good washing facilities is surprisingly important, right? ♪(´▽`)
Bangameori Beach features foot washing stations with multiple faucets, so even when it's busy, you won't have to wait long to rinse off comfortably! 😊
The hoses are long, which is a huge plus for families with young children, making it easy to clean up the little ones!
The restrooms are located in a separate building right next door, and they were very clean and well-maintained – a definite bonus!

Experience Swimming and Mudflat Adventures at Bangameori Beach – Your Perfect Daebudo Day Trip from Seoul!
Initially, I only planned to dip my toes in the mudflats, but catching crabs turned it into a much more exciting adventure than I expected! 😆
Even just walking along the shore offered plenty to see, and seeing families enjoying themselves brought a smile to my face.
Before or after your swim, take a stroll along the pine forest path next to the beach, or explore Bangameori Food Culture Street, which boasts a variety of fantastic restaurants and cafes!
If you're in the Seoul or Gyeonggi area and looking for a fantastic day trip beach for 2026, I wholeheartedly recommend Bangameori Beach in Daebudo! 😍
There is a dedicated parking lot directly across from Bangameori Beach, and it is free to use. The parking lot is spacious, so parking is usually available even on weekends. You only need to cross one crosswalk to reach the beach.
At the tidal flats of Bangameori Beach, you can catch surf clams (dongjuk) and crabs. You can enjoy the tidal flat experience without any separate fees, just by bringing your own tools. Since there are many flower crabs, it's recommended to wear aqua shoes or other footwear.
During high tide, Bangameori Beach has a suitable depth for enjoying water play. During low tide, you can walk along the tidal flats or engage in "haerujil" (gathering seafood by hand). The sea is shallow near the shore and gradually deepens as you go further in.
Several faucets are installed for washing your feet after water play, and the long hoses make them convenient to use. Restrooms are available in a separate building right next to the beach, ensuring cleanliness for users.
