Why Choose a Private Car for the Bali Southern Tour?

The roads in southern Bali are quite narrow and steep, making it tough to catch a Grab. The smartest move is to load your luggage into a car and visit your dream spots on a dedicated tour. I opted for a private, customized tour so we could design our own itinerary and travel completely at our own pace.
It was so incredibly comfortable to hop straight back into a cool, air-conditioned car after walking around in the heat. Plus, having our guide accompany us to every spot, explain the history, and take amazing photos of us made the whole trip incredibly smooth.
📌 Especially if you are traveling with parents, kids, or on your honeymoon, comfort is always the top priority!

We customized our perfect 8-hour itinerary for this tour. Personally, I skipped Padang Padang Beach.

The tour I booked is currently running a 15% discount, making it incredibly budget-friendly!
Tanah Barak Cliff
10:40 AM ~ 11:40 AM

The first stop on our Bali southern tour was the highly trending Tanah Barak Cliff.

The road carved right through the massive limestone walls was absolutely breathtaking.

📌 Pro Tip! If you want to grab that perfect shot of a lifetime, I highly recommend visiting in the morning. In the afternoon, it gets packed with tour groups and the blazing heat makes it pretty tough to pose.
Melasti Beach - Palmilla
12:00 PM ~ 2:30 PM

Right after, we made a quick 15-minute drive over to Melasti Beach. There is an entrance fee for the beach, but it was so nice that all vehicle and entry fees were already covered in the tour price.

We arrived at Palmilla Beach Club at 12:00 PM and hung out until 2:30 PM. We let our driver take a break and enjoy some free time while we relaxed.

With its striking blue ocean and cliffside views—vibes you won't easily find in Canggu, Seminyak, or Kuta—this beach club is the perfect spot to grab some lunch and unwind. Highly recommend adding it to your itinerary!
Uluwatu Temple
2:50 PM ~ 3:40 PM

After a 20-minute drive, we arrived at Uluwatu Temple! Our guide went ahead and purchased our entry tickets for us, which made getting in incredibly seamless.

As one of Bali's six key directional temples, Uluwatu Temple is perched dramatically on the edge of a steep cliff, offering absolutely stunning scenery.

The wild monkeys here are famous for snatching sunglasses and phones! Luckily, our guide kept them at bay the whole time, shared fascinating stories, and pointed out all the best photo spots. It made our visit entirely stress-free!

You can easily spend time walking around and relaxing here, but we spent about 40 minutes just snapping photos from different angles before heading out. Honestly, that was more than enough time!
Suluban Beach
3:50 PM – 4:30 PM

After a quick 10-minute drive in our blissfully air-conditioned car, we arrived at Suluban Beach.

On the 10-minute walk down the narrow, steep stairs, you'll pass plenty of restaurants and cafes. If you have some extra time, it's a great spot to take a breather.

There aren't many signs pointing the way, but our guide navigated for us, walked all the way down, and even took some amazing photos of us. They were so incredibly kind, which kept us in high spirits all day long!
Suluban Beach is absolutely perfect for quick photo ops and exploring, so you don't need to budget too much time here.

📌 The climb up and down isn't actually as tiring as it looks, but flip-flops are definitely a bad idea. I highly recommend sturdy sandals! Also, wearing your swimsuit underneath is a great idea if you want to take a dip!
Single Fin or Your Choice of Restaurant
4:30 PM – 5:30 PM

You can enjoy a meal at the famous Single Fin Beach Club right by Suluban Beach. Since I had just spent time at another beach club, I decided to head to a popular local cafe instead.

BAKED, located just a 5-minute walk from Suluban Beach, is a spot I also visited in Canggu, and their brunch, coffee, and pastries are all absolutely divine. Artisan Cafe is another legendary brunch spot nearby, so you can't go wrong choosing between the two!

For the grand finale, your driver will drop you off right at the airport. However, since I wanted to squeeze in one last massage and a quick shower near the airport, I customized my itinerary to end with a drop-off at a local massage spa.
📌 Many massage shops offer a complimentary airport drop-off service, so we said our final goodbyes to our lovely South Bali tour guide right at the spa.

South Bali Tour Review & Booking Tips

📌 To sum up the major perks of booking a South Bali tour on your last day post-checkout:
1️⃣ You can flexibly customize your itinerary without the hassle of hailing individual taxis at every stop.
2️⃣ No luggage worries! Keep your suitcases safely in the car trunk while you explore (a major time-saver).
3️⃣ You can tailor the route to only include the exact spots you want to visit in South Bali. The standard preset itineraries are already great, but I loved having the freedom to add a beach club stop!

📌 Handy Booking Tips:
1️⃣ Once you book, use the chat feature to coordinate and adjust any itinerary details beforehand.
2️⃣ Request a modern, comfortable vehicle. (Many roads in South Bali are still undergoing construction, making for a super bumpy ride!)
3️⃣ Opt for an all-inclusive tour that covers admission fees. (It makes the entire experience seamless—no standing in line to pay cash at every entrance!)

I actually sat down and calculated the potential Grab fares for the distance we covered, and an 8-hour private tour actually turned out to be cheaper! Plus, trying to navigate everything individually is physically draining, and dealing with bulky luggage would have been a total nightmare.

The roads in southern Bali are narrow and steep, making it difficult to catch a Grab. Additionally, on the last day of your trip, you can comfortably carry out your itinerary with your luggage loaded in the car after checking out, making transportation much more convenient.
In the afternoon, the area gets crowded due to an increase in Chinese tourists. Also, the scorching sun makes it difficult to take pictures, so visiting in the morning is highly recommended.
The monkeys at Uluwatu Temple are notorious for snatching tourists' glasses and mobile phones. If you are accompanied by a tour guide, they will prevent the monkeys from approaching, allowing you to enjoy the tour safely.
To get to Suluban Beach, you have to walk down narrow and steep stairs for about 10 minutes. Wearing flip-flops while going up and down the stairs can be hard on your feet, so it is better to wear proper sandals.
