Mobile Check-in

If you go into the Asiana Airlines app,
select the person icon (MY) at the top,
and if it appears like the screen on the right, click "Reservation Inquiry."

If you booked through Asiana's official website, your reservation details will appear immediately.
But if you booked elsewhere, like I did, click on the highlighted
"Find by Reservation Information."

When you see a screen like the one on the left, scroll down
and then click on the "Seat Assignment/Check-in" section as shown on the right.

After clicking "Check-in" and selecting "Start Check-in,"

after confirming your flight information,
entering your email and phone number in the contact details,
and reviewing the dangerous goods information,

you can select your seat!
Here's a sweet tip 🍯
When I traveled to Xi'an, I wanted a window seat for both flights,
so I checked in early. However, popular window seats
get taken very quickly... I recommend checking in as early as possible.
On the return flight, I checked in a bit late...
and barely managed to snag a window seat at the back of the plane.

Once you've selected your seat, check-in is complete!!!
You can also check your boarding pass immediately.
Check-in Counter

Jeju Air's check-in counters are orange,
Eastar Jet's are red, and Jin Air's are green.
So, I subconsciously expected Asiana's to be colorful or
have a unique Asiana design, and had huge expectations 🐶. But...
it was just a plain counter, which was boring... lol

Anyway, when I was checking in my luggage myself,
I totally forgot how to do it... lol
Even with the monitor explaining, I had some questions,
so I asked a staff member for help, and they were really kind, which I appreciated!

My precious baggage tag❤️
Boarding Gate

Honestly, unlike Incheon Airport Terminal 1, I couldn't see the monitors for the boarding gates,
so I ended up asking at the information desk to find my gate.
It was apparently on my boarding pass, but I just didn't see it myself... sigh.
Anyway, the gate I finally managed to find
was cleaner and prettier than Terminal 1, which was nice.
Asiana OZ347 [Incheon (ICN) Terminal 2 ➡️ Xi'an Xianyang (XIY) Terminal 5] Review

The Asiana OZ347 flight I took had a 3-3 seating arrangement.

Looking at the seats, the design does feel a bit old-fashioned...
And while the seats seem spacious,

maybe it's because of the upgraded LCCs I've been flying recently,
they feel spacious, but I couldn't really tell a huge difference (?).
Of course, they were definitely more spacious than the LCC I took when returning from Shanghai to Incheon!
The airplane seats had a 3-3 arrangement.

Safety rules could be checked on a small monitor
and in the manual.

Up to the hygiene bags and the in-flight duty-free sales catalog,
aside from showing safety instructions on a monitor,
there wasn't much difference from an LCC,

but what was different was getting headphones

and having in-flight entertainment – that was a pleasant surprise!
Actually... the last time I flew Asiana, way back when,
I think there were monitors on board..
I was a bit disappointed not to see them, but it turns out you can connect via Wi-Fi with your personal phone
and enjoy the entertainment that way!

After connecting to Wi-Fi, if you go to the internet, you'll see a screen like the one on the left.
Don't panic! Just follow the instructions in the in-flight wireless entertainment guide,
and you'll get a screen like the one on the right.

There was a variety of entertainment options, and surprisingly,
there was even a relatively recent movie (?) called "The Man Living with a King."

I hadn't seen 'The Man Living with a King' so I considered watching it, but...
I just enjoyed the interactive flight map.

Looking at the sky was more fun,

and it had been so long since I'd flown Asiana that I'd completely forgotten about in-flight meal time!
We had a choice between porridge and an egg dish,
so I chose the egg dish... but the in-flight meal... the egg...
I learned that an in-flight meal, even an egg dish, can be so unappetizing that you might leave it unfinished.

I had high hopes for the Tous Les Jours bread, thinking it would be delicious, but...
Let's just say I'll spare you the details...

The real stars of that meal were definitely the fresh fruit and yogurt.
Because of that, I didn't set my expectations high for the return flight's meal, but oh my, it was a total delight!
Asiana Airlines [Xi'an (XIY) Terminal 5 ➡️ Incheon (ICN) Terminal 2] Review

While the 3-3 seating arrangement isn't anything out of the ordinary,

If I had to pinpoint a highlight, it would probably be the surprisingly delicious inflight meal!
The presentation was a world away from that notorious egg dish!!

I had a choice between pasta and bulgogi (with cucumber?).
Being a huge fan of rice, I naturally opted for the bulgogi.
And wow, from the very first bite, it was incredibly delicious – a stark contrast to that infamous egg dish!

To be honest, the fruit on the way to Xi'an was a tad more delicious, but
what I received this time was still perfectly satisfying!
The salad, with its generous portion of chicken, was also delicious,

And while the bread was just served with butter,
after the 'egg dish' nightmare, honestly, everything felt incredibly satisfying!

I even got to enjoy a relaxing cup of coffee after my meal,

and let me tell you, I polished off every single bite of that return flight's meal!👍🏻
And beer in the sky? Absolutely the best!👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

✔︎ China Xi'an Trip with Asiana Airlines
OZ347 OZ348 Review
It was fantastic to experience Asiana Airlines one last time before its potential merger,
and unlike low-cost carriers, having in-flight entertainment available was a definite plus.
While that egg dish was, well, a thing,
the return flight's meal was absolutely delicious, making the whole experience incredibly satisfying!
❤️ Asiana truly is love, after all! ❤️
