Before taking my 6-month-old to the aquarium,
I couldn't help but wonder, "Will they actually enjoy it?"
Honestly, I had my doubts.
But oh my goodness...
Even a 6-month-old baby is absolutely mesmerized by the mermaid show!
They were completely glued to watching the fish swim around.

My baby's reaction was so amazing and heartwarming
that this mom immediately stocked up on summer discount tickets!
I've put together the best parking spots, optimal routes, total visit time,
nursing room locations, and all the handy pro-tips you'll need.
(Since I'm heading back there again in two weeks, haha!)
This post is a review of my personal visit on
Sunday, July 19, 2026.
1. Aqua Planet Gwanggyo Parking
Aqua Planet Gwanggyo is
located on the B1 level of Forena Gwanggyo,
which connects directly to Galleria Gwanggyo via an underground passage.
Some directories list it as Galleria Gwanggyo Passage B1,
but to be precise, the physical building is Forena Gwanggyo!

Here are the free parking guidelines
from the official Aqua Planet Gwanggyo website:
✔️ Galleria Gwanggyo / Forena Gwanggyo
2 hours free
✔️ When parking at Galleria Department Store:
Depending on your purchase amount inside the department store,
you can get up to an additional 3 hours of free parking
✔️ When parking at Forena Gwanggyo:
No additional free parking hours can be added

I visited on a Sunday in July.
I briefly considered parking at Galleria Department Store,
but the traffic was already backed up right from the entrance.. ^^;
I highly recommend parking at Forena Gwanggyo on weekends.
When I went down to the B3 level, there were plenty of empty spots
right in front of the elevator.
(As of 1:30 PM on Sunday!)

Recommended Parking Pillars for Aqua Planet
If you've been to department stores and malls, you know
how crucial finding the right pillar location is, right?
The closest pillars to Aqua Planet Gwanggyo are:
✔️ Galleria Department Store: Pillars 21 / 23 to 25
✔️ Forena Gwanggyo Parking: Pillar 36

Taking the elevator right in front of these pillars
will get you to Aqua Planet the fastest.
When traveling with a baby, minimizing steps is a absolute lifesaver!
2. Ticket Discount Guide

Aqua Planet tickets can be a bit pricey.

Even though babies under 36 months get in free,
paying ~$38 for Mom + Dad is still quite a chunk of change.
They offer local discounts like 20% off for Suwon/Yongin residents
and 30% off for those born in the Year of the Rooster, but
buying from online ticket platforms
is definitely the cheapest way +_+
I don't usually shop on Gmarket,
but for Aqua Planet, Gmarket definitely
offers the best deals!
Platform | Price | Purchase Link |
MyRealTrip | ~$15 | |
Gmarket | ~$12 | |
Naver | ~$16 |
Your mobile tickets will be sent via text 1 hour after purchase,
so make sure to buy them in advance
before you head out!
3. Recommended Times, Routes, and Nursing Room Info

I visited with my 6-month-old baby
on a Sunday from 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM,
exploring for a total of 2 hours.
It's a good idea to plan your route and timing
around the Mermaid Show & Magic Show schedules.
Mermaid Show: Every hour at :10
Magic Show: Every hour at :50
For a 6-month-old baby,
the Magic Show seemed a bit too advanced.
(Highly recommended for toddlers 30 months and up!)

My little baby, Twinkle, started fussing right before the Magic Show,
so my husband had to make a quick escape with her, haha.

Surprisingly, she was completely mesmerized by the Mermaid Show.
(She was sleepy but her eyes instantly went wide!)
Just keep in mind that the Mermaid and Magic Shows
are located at the very end of the aquarium route.
• Trying to watch the show first, then tour the aquarium ❌
• Timing your route to end with the show ✅

Since the nursing room is also right next to the Mermaid Show stage,
if you're visiting with a 6-month-old,
I highly recommend planning your route like this:
1️⃣ Take a leisurely stroll through the aquarium (30 mins)
2️⃣ Quick diaper change in the nursing room (5 mins)
3️⃣ Milk or baby food feed at the cafe (20 mins)
4️⃣ Playtime with baby in the open area (20 mins)
5️⃣ Watch the Mermaid Show (10 mins)
This itinerary takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes.
Since our timing didn't align perfectly with the show,
we had a bit of a wait and ended up staying for 2 hours, haha.

To grab a good spot for the Mermaid Show,
you'll want to find a seat about 10 to 15 minutes early.
But Twinkle started crying as if telling mom and dad not to sit down?! ^^
So we ended up watching from the back while standing, lol.
(Our baby carrier definitely proved its worth that day! 🥹)
On this day, 6-month-old Twinkle's wake window
stretched to over 4 hours! Yikes... ㄷㄷ
But despite that,
she must have had such a blast at the aquarium
because she drifted off to her final nap of the day in high spirits!
If you're searching for a perfect indoor spot to visit
with a 6-month-old during the hot summer,
I highly recommend Aqua Planet Gwanggyo in Suwon!
Be sure to buy your tickets in advance for the best deals!
Vendor | Price | Booking Link |
MyRealTrip | ~$15 | |
Gmarket | ~$12 | |
Naver | ~$16 |
Frequently Asked Questions
Where is the best place to park when visiting Aqua Planet Gwanggyo on weekends, and which parking pillar numbers are closest to Aqua Planet?
On weekends, we recommend the 3rd basement floor (B3) of the Forena Gwanggyo parking lot, which has more available spaces compared to the Galleria Department Store where the entrance gets congested. The closest parking pillars to Aqua Planet are No. 36 in Forena Gwanggyo, and No. 21 and 23-25 in the Galleria Department Store.
Where is the cheapest place to buy tickets for Aqua Planet Gwanggyo, and what should I keep in mind when purchasing them?
Among online retailers, purchasing through Gmarket for ~$12 is the cheapest. Since the mobile ticket is sent via text message one hour after purchase, you should buy it in advance before heading out.
Where is the nursing room located, and what is the recommended viewing route when visiting Aqua Planet Gwanggyo with a 6-month-old baby?
The nursing room is located next to the Mermaid Show venue at the very end of the route. Therefore, we recommend a 1.5-hour course: first exploring the aquarium for about 30 minutes, then using the nursing room and cafe, and finally watching the Mermaid Show.
What time do the Mermaid Show and Magic Show at Aqua Planet Gwanggyo start, and which performance is suitable for a 6-month-old baby?
The Mermaid Show starts at 10 minutes past every hour, and the Magic Show starts at 50 minutes past every hour. For a 6-month-old baby, we recommend the Mermaid Show, which is easier for them to focus on, while the Magic Show is better suited for children at least 30 months old.
