When I visited, the dinner buffet was only open on weekends.
Wait at the entrance, and a friendly staff member will guide you to your table.
The very first thing that catches your eye is definitely the magnificent brick oven.
There were several kinds of pizza, and they all looked incredibly tempting.
But with so many other main dishes to explore, I decided to save the pizza for later!
The weekend dinner buffet at Flavors in Intercontinental Pyeongchang boasts live stations for fresh sashimi, sushi, and a spectacular cheese wheel Caesar salad, alongside expertly carved-to-order dishes like pork tomahawk and beef chuck flap steak.
You can also enjoy unlimited pours of two types of wine and refreshing draft beer!
Main Dishes
True to a 5-star hotel dinner buffet, there was an impressive array of meats and fresh seafood, promising a feast for the senses.
First up, we have succulent lamb chops and the magnificent pork tomahawk.
You could also find delectable beef tenderloin, chuck flap steak, and Iberico pork neck roast.
And just look at those tempting, freshly baked breads!
Juk (porridge), soup, pasta, and baby potatoes
For the first plate, we really focused on the meat dishes.
It seems our family's tastes are quite alike, as everyone's first plate turned out to be wonderfully similar!
Then, for the second round, it was all about diving into the incredible seafood spread.
We definitely thought of the meat dishes as the first main course, followed by the fantastic seafood selection for the second.
It's truly wonderful now that the kids are all grown up and can pick out their own food – I used to have to bring everything to them when they were little! The only tiny downside is when they occasionally fill up on something 'strange' instead of all the delicious offerings, that makes me chuckle a bit.
Like going to a fantastic breakfast spread and only having cereal, for example...!
The grilled garlic was absolutely delicious as well!
There was something so satisfying about popping out those perfectly roasted garlic cloves.
My wonderful wife also savored a glass of wine alongside her meal.
A delightful array of salads and traditional Korean side dishes were all gathered here, ready to be enjoyed.
You could also find a delightful selection of fresh fruits and various types of delicious tteok (Korean rice cakes) all in one spot.
Seafood Corner
This is a fantastic seafood platter featuring shrimp, abalone, clams, whelks, mussels, and more.
Personally, this was my absolute favorite part of the meal!
The plump scallop adductor muscles had such a fantastic texture, and they were so delicious, they almost tasted sweet.
Salmon sushi and kelp-aged flounder sushi
Tuna sashimi and salmon sashimi
The taste and texture were completely different from the salmon sashimi I had at breakfast.
Here's the second main dish: a delightful seafood assortment.
Personally, these scallop sushi rolls were my absolute favorite among all the dinner buffet offerings.
Desserts
For desserts, there are fruits available separately, along with puddings, macarons, cakes, ice cream, and more.
The desserts were not only diverse in selection but also felt luxurious, clearly made with great care and attention to detail.
Of course, I made sure to try a little bit of everything!
The kids were all about that Haagen-Dazs ice cream!
While the adults gracefully wrapped things up with a perfect cup of coffee.
Overall, the food at the Alpensia Resort Playverse weekend dinner buffet was impeccably clean and felt wonderfully upscale.
It was fantastic to indulge in such a diverse spread, from succulent meats and fresh seafood to an array of delightful desserts.
Plus, the ambiance was just perfect, and the staff were so incredibly friendly, which truly made our dining experience a joy.
Taking a summer vacation to Pyeongchang and having the wonderful opportunity to share such an excellent dinner with my family created truly delightful memories.
