Highly Recommended Sanur, Bali Accommodation
The Akana Boutique Hotel

The very last accommodation of my recent Bali trip,
The Akana Boutique Hotel in Sanur.
I booked this place while searching for hotels in Sanur
because of my Manta Ray tour schedule,
and since it has a lovely pool, great value for money,
and staff as friendly as any 5-star hotel,
I had an incredibly relaxing stay for my last 3 nights.
Also, this was my very first time visiting the Sanur area,
and I completely fell in love with it!
It has a completely different vibe from Ubud and Canggu—
personally, it's my absolute favorite spot, haha.
Read on to check out my honest review of the Akana Boutique Hotel
and find out why I fell head over heels for Sanur! :)

1. Why I Chose Akana Boutique Hotel in Sanur

The reason I chose Sanur as my base
was all about the location.
📍 15 minutes to Sanur Port
📍 30 minutes to Ngurah Rai International Airport
Since I had a Manta Ray tour planned
and it was the end of my trip,
it was truly the perfect location.

Plus,
my criteria when picking a hotel in Sanur were:
✅ Must have a swimming pool.
✅ Under ~$64 per night.
To my surprise, there weren't many places in Sanur, Bali
that fit these requirements...
And that's when I found the Akana Boutique Hotel.
I loved the vibe of the pool, and the price
was well within my budget, so I booked it right away.

I booked a total of 3 nights in the ~$58 per night range.

Rates for early June.
Prices may vary depending on the season.
2. Location of Akana Boutique Hotel

One thing I hesitated a bit about before booking was the location,
but since it's slightly away from the main bustling streets,
the price was significantly cheaper than other hotels
in similar condition, which made it an easy choice.
Besides, you end up taking a Grab during the day anyway in Bali
(the sun is just too intense! ㅠㅠ)
When you think about how much we saved on accommodation,
a little taxi fare is absolutely nothing! Haha.

And actually, as long as you avoid the peak midday heat,
walking to Icon Bali was totally doable.
The beachside walking path is incredibly well-maintained!

But the absolute best part?
It's so close to Sanur's best gelato spot... ♥
(I'm so bummed we missed out on going on our last day ㅠㅠ)
A local driver recommended this place to us,
and it was truly delicious!
Even though it's not right in the dead center,
it has everything you need nearby—
cafes, restaurants, convenience stores, you name it.
Honestly, there was no real reason to even go all the way to the busy center, haha.
3. My 3-Night Review of Akana Boutique Hotel in Sanur, Bali
📍 The Akana Boutique Hotel
Jl. Sudamala No.19, Sanur, Denpasar Selatan, Kota Denpasar, Bali, Indonesia
✔️ Check-in: 14:00
✔️ Check-out: 12:00
We arrived about 30 minutes earlier than the check-in time,
so we waited a bit while sipping on our welcome drinks.
Since it's not a massive hotel with tons of rooms,
the lobby had a cozy, boutique feel.

While waiting, I couldn't help but notice
how insanely clean and tidy the lobby was.
They were regularly steam cleaning the rooms.
Little details like this might not seem like much,
but it really gave off the vibe of a well-maintained hotel, which I loved! haha

Oh? This is actually way better than I expected!
With its lush green views and luxurious vibe,
I liked it so much more than I thought I would.
It felt a tiny bit humid at first,
but turning on the AC made it super fresh and comfortable in no time.
(Sanur itself felt a bit more humid
compared to Canggu and Ubud.)

During our 3-night stay,
there was barely anything to complain about,
and the bed was so incredibly comfy
that on the day of our Manta Ray tour,
I showered and fell straight asleep haha.
The Wi-Fi was super fast,
and Netflix was available on the TV,
so I actually finished binging Brave New World right here.
They also had a hairdryer, electric kettle, drying rack,
refillable shampoo & body wash,
and provided 2 bottles of water every day.

To be honest, one of the main reasons I booked this hotel
was the swimming pool.
The vibes were absolutely immaculate~~♥
It was on the smaller side, but it wasn't crowded,
so it was perfect for a peaceful, relaxing swim.
Just lying on the sunbeds without even getting in the water
was pure bliss... ㅠㅠ I miss it so much...

Having cup ramen after swimming is the ultimate Korean ritual...!
When I asked, the staff kindly poured hot water for my cup ramen
and even heated up my instant rice for me haha.
Every single staff member was so incredibly friendly and cheerful,
which made our 3-night stay absolutely wonderful! haha

Breakfast wasn't a buffet;
instead, we got to choose from a menu.
To be completely honest, it wasn't anything mind-blowing,
but having iced Americanos made me happy,
and the fresh fruit was perfect for a light bite to start the day.

Oh, and one thing that was incredibly sweet—
on the day of our Manta Ray tour, they packed a breakfast box for us!
If you stay here, definitely request it the night before to take with you!
The Manta Ray tour is pretty exhausting,
so going on an empty stomach until lunchtime would be tough,,,^^

It's a little away from the main bustling center of Sanur,
but that actually made it much quieter
and perfect for a peaceful night's rest.
During the day, we got around easily using Grab,
and at sunset, strolling along the beach path
while watching the ocean was just beautiful.

✔ Anyone looking for the perfect final stay of their trip
✔ Budget-conscious travelers seeking great value in Sanur

✔ Travelers who highly value friendly, warm service

To be honest, at first,
I only booked this place because of the Manta Ray tour,
but after spending 3 nights here,
I kept thinking, "I'm so glad I chose this hotel!"
If I ever visit Bali again,
I'd definitely choose Sanur for my last stop,
and I'd definitely book Akana Boutique Hotel again! haha
It takes about 15 minutes to Sanur Harbor and about 30 minutes to Ngurah Rai International Airport. It is conveniently located for Manta tour schedules or heading to the airport on the last day of your trip.
As of early June, you can book a room for around ~$58 per night. It offers great value for money, as it features a swimming pool but costs less than ~$64.
Breakfast is served à la carte rather than as a buffet. If you have an early schedule, such as a Manta tour, you can request a packed breakfast the day before, and they will prepare it for you.
You can watch Netflix on the in-room TV, and the Wi-Fi works smoothly. Basic amenities include a hairdryer, an electric kettle, a drying rack, refillable shampoo and body wash, and two complimentary bottles of water are provided daily.
