Words & Photos by Kang Gam-i
Hi everyone, I'm Gam-i!
If you're a Detective Conan fan, this single station will easily
fill up a whole day of your Tottori Yonago trip.
This is JR Yura Station, affectionately known as Conan Station.
Since it's the hometown of Gosho Aoyama, the creator of Detective Conan,
the entire station is completely decked out in a Conan theme.
From exclusive merch and bicycle rentals to the museum,
here is my complete guide to fully enjoying Conan Town! 🔎
📍 Yura Station (Conan Station)

📍 Address | 1414-1 Yura, Hokuei, Tohaku District, Tottori Prefecture, Japan |
⏰ Hours | ⏰ Station Office: 5:30 AM - 11:00 PM ⏰ Conan Goods Shop: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Open daily) |

🚋 How to Get to Yura Station & JR Timetable
If you're visiting Conan Town for the first time,
choosing the right train is the most important part.
📍 Departing from Yonago Station
Line | JR San-in Main Line |
Travel Time | Approx. 52 mins |
Fare | 770 JPY (~$5) |

⚠️ Please note: Limited Express trains (like the Super Hakuto or Yakumo)
do not stop at Yura Station.
You must take a local train (普通) bound for Tottori.
Since trains for both Tottori and Yonago directions
pass through Yura Station,
make sure to double-check your return schedule in advance.
The trains only run about 1 or 2 times per hour.
Be sure to check the timetable beforehand and plan your schedule accordingly.
🚉 Yura Station (Conan Station) Exterior & Interior

The moment you arrive, you'll see the station exterior is completely covered with Conan characters.
Even the window panes are filled with manga art—
I was truly amazed by how creatively they designed every single corner.

It's only natural that this place is packed with people snapping photos
from the second they step off the train.
🛍️ The Station Goods Shop: A Must-Visit

There is a goods shop located right inside the tourist information center within the station.
They have an incredible variety of items—way more than I expected!
From limited-edition merch and figures to stationery, postcards,
posters, and mini-figures.

The prices are very reasonable,
making it the perfect spot to pick up some souvenirs.
Even if you're not a huge fan, it's still incredibly fun to look around.
🚲 Bicycle Rental: An Absolute Must

Renting a bicycle at Yura Station is by far
the most efficient way to explore Conan Town.
Just fill out a quick form, and you're good to go.
The rental fee is 500 JPY (~$3) per day.
The town itself is quite compact, so you can easily explore everything in half a day.

Stashing your bags in a coin locker
and hitting the road on a bike is the absolute best route
to maximize your time.
🏘️ Scenes from Conan Town

As you head out into the town on your bike...
The whole area unfolds like a mini theme park.

With Conan Bridge, Conan statues, and character benches scattered all over,
just walking around feels like you're in a giant photo zone.
There’s even a house that looks exactly like Conan’s house from the anime—
a total goosebumps moment for any true fan!

Most people just take a quick photo in front of the station and leave,
but if you rent a bike and explore deeper into the town,
you'll discover a whole different, charming side of Conan Town.
🏛️ Gosho Aoyama Manga Factory

It's about a 20-minute walk from Yura Station.
You can see Conan's original sketches, a recreation of the author's studio,
and interactive models of the gadgets from the anime!

Admission is 700 yen for adults and 300 yen for children.
For 500 yen for the bike rental + 700 yen for the Manga Factory,
you can enjoy the full Conan Town experience for just 1,200 yen in total!
If you're a Detective Conan fan, the Manga Factory is an absolute must-visit.

It lets you explore the entire town much faster
than walking ever would.

From the moment you arrive to the very edge of town,
the photo opportunities never end.
✔ The gift shop prices are super reasonable.
The price range is perfect for picking up souvenirs without breaking the bank.
