Yonago Onsen Review 2026: Relax at a Seaside Hot Spring
Discover the rejuvenating seaside hot springs of Yonago Onsen in 2026! Enjoy rotating baths, delicious Japanese meals, and stunning ocean views. Perfect for a relaxing escape.
Japan is synonymous with incredible hot springs, and on my recent trip to Yonago, I knew a visit to an onsen was a must-do! Since my hotel didn't have its own large public bath, I decided to revisit a trusted spot: Ocean One Day Onsen. This seaside hot spring doesn't offer overnight stays, but its reputation and amazing ocean views made it an easy choice.
Here’s a quick rundown of what makes it special:
✅ The 1st and 2nd-floor baths for men and women rotate daily, offering a fresh experience each visit.
✅ Enjoy a full range of amenities including an in-house restaurant, relaxation rooms, and massage services.
✅ No overnight stays, but open from 10:00 AM to midnight.
✅ Admission is ~$10 (card payments accepted).
1. Getting to Ocean One Day Onsen in Yonago
From JR Yonago Station, you can catch the Kaike Line Ion bus, which takes about 30 minutes and costs around ~$2. However, be aware that the last bus typically runs around 9:00 PM. If you plan a later visit, renting a car is highly recommended. Otherwise, you can request a taxi from the onsen's front desk for your return trip.

Here’s a quick breakdown of transportation costs:
Bus Ride: About 30 minutes, ~$2
Taxi Ride: ~$16

I opted for a rental car, which made getting there and parking hassle-free. Admission is paid upon exit, and basic toiletries are provided. While most Japanese onsen charge for towels, this particular location generously includes them, which is a nice bonus!

On this visit, I got to experience the 2nd-floor bath. If you're planning a late-night soak, I highly recommend considering a rental car for convenience.

2. My Experience at Yonago Onsen
*I managed to snap a quick photo when no one else was around!
Upon arrival, you'll store your clothes in a locker. If you're not planning a full bath immediately, you can put on the comfortable lounge wear provided, similar to what you'd find at a Korean jjimjilbang (sauna/spa).

The 2nd floor features separate changing rooms and bathing areas, plus a fantastic outdoor space!

From the outdoor bath, I could see both the stunning sunset and the expansive coastline. The wooden lounge chairs were perfect for relaxing and soaking in the views.

The scenery was equally captivating after the sun dipped below the horizon. This is truly the unique charm of a seaside hot spring!
3. Dining at Yonago Onsen
One of the great conveniences here is the in-house restaurant. You can enjoy a meal while still wearing your comfortable onsen lounge wear. Payment is simple: you use a wristband to record your orders, and everything is settled when you check out.

The prices were quite reasonable, making dining here a stress-free experience.

We ordered a draft beer, a non-alcoholic drink, a delicious Chashu Ramen, and a Salmon Donburi. The food was surprisingly good!

I highly recommend planning your day to finish your sightseeing, enjoy dinner at the onsen, and then indulge in a relaxing soak before heading back. It's the perfect way to unwind!

After a refreshing bath, there’s nothing better than a cold glass of milk from the vending machine!

After a busy day of exploring, a visit to the onsen feels incredibly rejuvenating. If you're looking for a hot spring experience in Yonago, don't hesitate to choose Ocean One Day Onsen!
Remember, if you plan to visit late, a rental car is a must!
