Graben, Vienna's Iconic Street: Enjoy Cafes and Street Scenes
Graben

Located right in front of St. Stephen's Cathedral, Graben is
Vienna's iconic street, bustling with diverse shops, restaurants, and charming cafes.

It's a pedestrian-only street with virtually no vehicle traffic,
making it absolutely perfect for a leisurely stroll and exploration.

I highly recommend it as the best place to truly experience
Vienna's beautifully clean and well-maintained Old Town.
Especially, the outdoor seating areas of the restaurants and cafes lining the street are
where you can best soak in that authentic European local vibe.
Some cafes open early in the morning, so you could even enjoy a delightful
morning coffee after an early visit to the cathedral.

In addition to various luxury brands,
This is a place home to stores from a wide range of brands,
so if you're planning a shopping trip in Europe,
it's definitely one spot you'll want to keep an eye on.

In the center of the street, there was an eye-catching monument.
This is the Pestsäule, or Plague Column, erected in the 17th century
to commemorate the end of the Black Death.
Thanks to its intricate Baroque sculptures and golden decorations,
it's also a popular spot for photos.
Even if you're not here for shopping, food, or cafes,
Graben Street itself, filled with charm just by walking through it,
is a highly recommended must-see on any Vienna Old Town itinerary.
The Beautiful St. Peter's Church – Free to Visit!
Peterskirche

Address | Peterspl., 1010 Wien, Austria |
Operating Hours | 8 AM - 7 PM |
Admission Fee | Free |
Parking Information | No Parking |
Other Information | Free organ concerts held daily at 1:30 PM, 3 PM, and 7 PM |

As you stroll along Graben, you'll naturally come across
St. Peter's Church. Though smaller than St. Stephen's Cathedral,
it's famous for its even more opulent interior.

Before heading inside the church,
I recommend taking a walk around the exterior.
The outer walls are adorned with sculptures and statues
depicting the life of St. Peter.

The interior, small but exquisitely decorated in the Baroque style,
was dazzling with golden ornaments.
Not only is admission free,
but free organ concerts are also held daily,
so if you have time, make sure to listen to some beautiful organ music.
Hidden Gems of the Old Town: The Anker Clock and Marriage Fountain
Ankeruhr
Vermählungsbrunnen

Address | Hoher Markt, 1010 Wien, Austria |
Operating Hours | Always open |
Parking Information | No Parking |

As I was admiring the architecture on Vienna's streets,
I spotted a uniquely shaped monument in the middle of the street.
There wasn't a description nearby, so I quickly looked it up and found it goes
by various names, including the Marriage Fountain and the Fountain of Love.
It's said to be a Baroque-style fountain depicting the marriage
of the Virgin Mary and Saint Joseph.
When I visited, the fountain wasn't operating,
but it was still lovely to quietly admire the elaborate sculptures.

Right next to it was the Anker Clock.
This bridge-like clock, connecting two buildings,
features a performance every hour on the hour, with figures
from Austrian history appearing in sequence.
I wasn't aware of the performance and stumbled upon it by chance,
so I couldn't wait until the top of the hour and passed it by,
but if you visit right on the hour,
definitely catch the historic performance of this unique clock!
Your One-Stop Shop for Vienna Souvenirs!
House of Souvenirs

As you wander through Graben Street and the Old Town,
you'll spot plenty of shops selling Vienna travel souvenirs.
Among them, one that stood out for being spacious, clean, and a joy to browse was...
I'm excited to introduce you to House of Souvenirs!

It's a two-story souvenir shop,
but for what I was looking for, like magnets and keychains, the first floor alone had plenty to offer.
The walls were packed with magnets of all sorts of designs,
it was really hard to tear my eyes away!
After checking out a few different souvenir shops,
the prices were mostly similar, and the designs were varied,
so I ended up buying three magnets for 12 Euros.

One section also had a great variety of Klimt souvenirs,
so if you're interested, it's worth checking out as well.
The staff were friendly, and you could browse freely,
so I definitely recommend it as a spot for travel souvenir shopping!
