If you’re on the hunt for a fantastic sukiyaki spot with a great atmosphere in Osaka's Shinsaibashi district, you absolutely have to check out Kobe Beef Ushimaru!
This place lets you indulge in high-quality Kobe beef with an all-you-can-eat option, and the sophisticated, tranquil ambiance makes it perfect for a special meal, even with your parents.
I was thoroughly impressed by both the food and the setting at Osaka's Kobe Beef Ushimaru, and I'm excited to share my experience with you.
1. Kobe Beef Ushimaru

Hours of Operation | Weekdays 5:00 PM ~ 12:00 AM Weekends 4:00 PM ~ 12:00 AM |
It’s conveniently located about a 7-minute walk from the famous Dotonbori Glico Man sign. You can enjoy a leisurely stroll through the Shinsaibashi shopping arcade and arrive in no time.
📍 Sukiyaki Kobe Beef Ushimaru Shinsaibashi
2F B-go, Fuku Bldg. Shinsaibashi, 2-chōme−8−26 Higashishinsaibashi, Chuo Ward, Osaka, 〒542-0083 Japan

The restaurant offers three types of seating: standard tables, counter seats, and traditional Japanese-style floor seating (zashiki).
The zashiki area, with its modern Japanese interior, was particularly striking. It provided a calm and relaxed atmosphere, a welcome contrast to the bustling energy of Dotonbori.

We made a reservation in advance via Google Maps and were seated in a quiet zashiki section.
Each table had elevated floor chairs rather than direct floor seating, which was a thoughtful touch. This meant less strain on our knees and backs, making for a much more comfortable dining experience!
2. Menu

The main offerings at Kobe Beef Ushimaru in Osaka are the all-you-can-eat courses, with two options: the Kobe Beef course and the Wagyu course.
✔ If you only want to enjoy unlimited meat:
Kobe Beef course: ~$73 / Wagyu course: ~$47
✔ If you want to enjoy meat + king crab:
Kobe Beef course: ~$148 / Wagyu course: ~$121

After much deliberation, we opted for the Kobe Beef course.
While it's pricier than the Wagyu course, the idea of enjoying unlimited premium Kobe beef – a true Japanese delicacy – was too tempting to pass up on our Osaka trip. And the verdict? It was absolutely worth every penny! A truly satisfying meal that exceeded expectations. 🥹🥹

They offer a selection of beer, sake, chuhai, and whiskey, with an option for unlimited drinks.
Considering a single beer is ~$6, and the all-you-can-drink option is also ~$6, it’s a no-brainer! If you plan on having more than one drink or alcoholic beverage, adding the unlimited option is definitely the smarter choice.

Once you order your sukiyaki and unlimited drinks, they provide a QR code.
Simply scan the QR code with your phone, select your desired items, and place your order. This convenient system meant we could reorder from our table without needing to call a server, which was incredibly efficient.
3. All-You-Can-Eat Kobe Beef Sukiyaki

We dove into the sukiyaki course, and let me tell you, the marbling on the beef was insane! It was immediately clear why this cut commands a higher price point.
Seeing those delicate veins of fat woven throughout the meat, I was just so happy to be enjoying such high-quality Kobe beef in an all-you-can-eat format.

Our server initially cooked the first round for us.
Kobe Beef Ushimaru in Shinsaibashi serves traditional Japanese sukiyaki, cooked in a sweet and savory warishita (soy sauce-based broth). This really allowed us to savor the authentic taste of sukiyaki.

We generously served ourselves. The sweet and salty warishita sauce beautifully infused the meat, making it delicious even on its own.
The beef was incredibly tender, and the rich juices that burst in your mouth were simply phenomenal. 👍´-

Dipping the beef into the raw egg yolk added another layer of flavor. It had no unpleasant eggy taste whatsoever; instead, it was rich and creamy, softening the savory notes of the sauce perfectly.

While the Kobe beef was fantastic, the impressive lineup of side dishes at Ushimaru made me want to visit this Osaka restaurant again and again.
They even had unagi don (eel rice bowl) as a side! Topped with thick, fluffy tamagoyaki (Japanese omelet), it looked just as good as something you'd find at a specialized unagi restaurant!

There was also a steak don, which was sweet and tender – perfect for kids' palates.
Considering that just two of these rice bowls could easily cost around ~$19, having them included in the all-you-can-eat course felt like excellent value. I was incredibly satisfied!

We also ordered the tempura set, which was crispy, juicy, and delicious. The shrimp tempura was impressively large, too!

With three different dipping sauces provided, we could customize our tempura experience to our liking.

You can even order individual pieces of sushi, including salmon, tuna, and engawa (flounder fin). The variety and quality were so good, it felt like a dedicated sushi restaurant! We enjoyed them alongside our sukiyaki.

After devouring an endless supply of Kobe beef sukiyaki and heaps of side dishes, we were stuffed! But who can resist dessert? `👀
We helped ourselves to refreshing vanilla and matcha ice cream, along with various cakes from the self-service bar.

The crepe cake, in particular, tasted and felt like it came from a specialty cake shop – so good we went back for more! It was a truly satisfying end to our meal.

Kobe Beef Ushimaru, an exceptional sukiyaki restaurant in Osaka's Shinsaibashi.
Initially, the price felt a bit steep, but the incredible quality of the Kobe beef and the extensive variety of side dishes made it a truly worthwhile and satisfying dining experience. The cost was completely justified!
The elegant and serene ambiance of the restaurant was also a huge plus. I'd love to bring my parents here for a special meal next time.
If you're searching for an outstanding sukiyaki restaurant in Osaka, I highly recommend Kobe Beef Ushimaru in Shinsaibashi!
