Sakura Hotel Ureshino Review 2026: Kaiseki Buffet & Outdoor Baths
Discover why Sakura Hotel in Ureshino Onsen, Japan, is my top recommendation for an authentic hot spring retreat. Enjoy modern amenities, easy access, and a renowned 'beauty onsen' experience in 2026.

Among Japan's charming smaller cities, Saga Prefecture is currently gaining attention as an
up-and-coming travel destination.
After choosing **Ureshino Onsen Village in Saga Prefecture**, which is only about a 1.5-hour drive from Fukuoka,
I realized that **finding the perfect accommodation was key**.
This onsen village, in particular, is renowned for having one of **Japan's Top 3 'Beautifying Onsens,'**
so I naturally sought out a place with excellent hot spring facilities.
I've actually visited Ureshino a total of six times, and stayed at three different accommodations there.
Out of all of them, the one I **most highly recommend is Sakura Hotel**.

Let me tell you below why it's the most satisfying hotel I've stayed at.

Walkable from Ureshino Intercity Bus Terminal
One of the biggest advantages of this hotel is its accessibility.
It's within walking distance from Ureshino Intercity Bus Terminal,
so you won't have any trouble getting there even with luggage.

If you're traveling by bus from Fukuoka or Nagasaki,
you'll know just how convenient this location is!
What's more, the hotel itself is the tallest building in Ureshino,
so it's easy to spot from a distance and simple to find your way.
Fresh Facilities After Recent Renovation
The very first thing I noticed when checking in was
how much cleaner and more modern it felt than I expected!
Thanks to the renovation, both the guest rooms and common areas felt
wonderfully fresh, with no hint of being outdated.

If you were worried about that 'old-fashioned' feel that some onsen resorts can have,
you can absolutely put your mind at ease here.
This is the Tatami room we used for three people.

The great thing about a Tatami room is that there's no fixed
space taken up by beds, so it immediately feels spacious when you enter.
And it truly is spacious!

For families traveling with children, a Tatami room will be much more comfortable
than a Western-style room with beds. We ourselves prefer Tatami rooms
over beds when visiting Japanese ryokans.

Since it's an onsen facility, towels and bags are
thoughtfully provided like this.

You can check out the various room types here.

If you head past the lobby,
you'll find a complimentary tea and coffee lounge.

As a guest, you can enjoy it freely and for free.
It was perfect for a warm cup of tea while waiting to check in, relaxing after a soak in the onsen,
or even when checking out.

A variety of yukata sizes are also available.
If you have one in your room but want to change the size,
or need a children's yukata,
you can pick them up here.
The children's yukata are super cute!
The highlight, of course, is the rooftop open-air bath!
The definitive reason I chose Ureshino Sakura Hotel
was precisely the rooftop open-air bath.

As this town is famous for its 'beauty onsen' (hot springs),
you can actually feel your skin getting smoother
when you soak in the bath.

Especially since the hotel is the tallest building in Ureshino,
the view of the town from the open-air bath is truly impressive.
If you go around sunset, you can enjoy the beautiful evening glow as well,
making it the most healing time of the day.
After your relaxing hot spring bath,
you can even enjoy complimentary ice cream!

Kaiseki Buffet Dinner - Includes Alcoholic Beverages, Diverse Menu Selection
Dinner is served as a Kaiseki-style buffet,
but instead of a meticulously plated course meal,
you can freely choose from a wide variety of dishes
in a buffet style.
With a variety of options like Saga beef, fresh sashimi, and various tempura,
it was delightful to try a bit of everything.

Best of all, alcoholic beverages are included with dinner!!
This was the most satisfying part.
Since you can enjoy beer and sake without extra charge,
it was perfect for enjoying a drink with your meal
after a relaxing hot spring bath.
If you're visiting with your parents,
they would absolutely love it.
The breakfast was also excellent quality,
allowing you to start your day feeling well-fed and energized.

Since the town is mostly flat, it's much easier to sightsee by bicycle.
Bicycle rentals are available here,
so taking a bike ride from the waterfall through the town
is also a great idea.

Ureshino, a charming hot spring town in Saga Prefecture, Japan,
If a traditional ryokan feels a bit daunting, how about this place
where you can experience the essence of a ryokan, hot springs, and hotel amenities
all in one modern facility?
As the cool breezes begin to blow in autumn,
this is a wonderful place for a family trip or a memorable getaway with friends.
