but also ticks all the boxes for safety and public transport accessibility.

My recommendation for a budget-friendly stay in Melbourne, Australia:

The Victoria Hotel, which I highly recommend as a budget-friendly option in Melbourne, Australia,

is located just a 2-minute walk from Melbourne Town Hall

and a 5-minute walk from Block Arcade.

This means you can explore the city worry-free, knowing you're in a safe area.

What's more, it's only a 3-minute walk to the nearest tram stop,

offering excellent public transport access.

Among Melbourne accommodations, its location is truly a standout!

2. Review of The Victoria Hotel's Heritage Queen Room

During my stay at The Victoria Hotel,

I spent 2 nights alone in a Heritage Queen Room.

Even though it's typically a room for two,

I found the size of the bed and bathroom

to be perfectly comfortable and spacious enough for one person.

The bed was also quite comfortable,

making it a perfect spot to relax after a day of exploring.

The room came with hangers,

which was super convenient for hanging up coats or planning the next day's outfit.

There was also a table and chair, and I planned to do some laptop work,

but unfortunately, for tasks involving large photo uploads, like blogging,

the Wi-Fi was a bit slow.

It was fine for basic messaging, so keep that in mind regarding the Wi-Fi.

However, having stayed in many accommodations, I've noticed that Wi-Fi can often be an issue in hotels.

So, please also consider that this isn't uncommon!

(It seems slow Wi-Fi is just a part of life in Australia!)

In the bathroom, a hairdryer was provided,

along with conditioner, shampoo, and hand & body wash.

You only need to bring your **toothbrush, toothpaste, and cleansing products**.

The only slightly disappointing thing about the bathroom was

that the showerhead was a **fixed rainfall type**.

For those who like to attach a shower filter

or prefer the convenience of a handheld showerhead,

this fixed rainfall shower might be a bit inconvenient.

3. Facilities

There's a laundry room on the second floor of the building,

where you can wash and dry your clothes.

It wasn't as heavily used as I expected,

so I was able to comfortably do my laundry once.

They say there's also a swimming pool in the building,

but I was so busy exploring

that I never got a chance to use it.

And one more thing to note,

is the **elevators**.

Since the building is quite large, the hallways are long,

and there are many fire doors along the way.

While it's a **very safe building in case of fire**,

because of the numerous fire doors and long, interconnected corridors,

I really struggled to find the elevators.;

Especially on days when I had to catch a tour,

even after factoring in time to find the elevator,

things got tighter than expected, and I was really cutting it close!

Honestly, apart from this elevator-finding challenge,

I didn't experience any major inconveniences during my 2-night stay,

but I kept getting confused morning and evening,

so if you're someone who's easily disoriented, make sure to factor in plenty of extra time...

3. Comparing the Best-Value Hotel Prices in Melbourne

So, what about the price of this place?

I compared prices on **Agoda, Booking.com, and Trip.com**.

The comparison conditions were for a **Heritage Queen Room,**

**check-in on September 22nd / check-out on September 23rd,**

and were applied equally for **non-members**.
