around almost every corner.
From a thrilling water park and the iconic Golden Reel Ferris wheel

⏰Check-in 3:00 PM, Check-out 11:00 AM

Studio City Macau is a
5-star resort located on the Cotai Strip,
heavily inspired by the Golden Age of Hollywood
with a glamorous cinematic theme.

Currently hosting the "Disney Palette of Happiness" event,
you can find characters like Zootopia's Judy and Nick,
Winnie the Pooh, Chip 'n' Dale, and Donald Duck
scattered throughout the lobby, restaurants, and Golden Reel!
Meeting these classic animation characters
was a huge hit with the kids, and honestly, I was thrilled too🥹

Between running wild in the Water Park and Super Fun Zone,
the hotel also offers practical family rentals like
bottle sterilizers, bottle warmers, and toddler bed guards,
making it a top pick for family vacations in Macau.

2. Check-in Experience

Studio City Macau operates a free shuttle bus
from the Taipa Ferry Terminal and
Macau International Airport, making transfers a breeze.
We hopped on the bus at the Macau Airport,
passed the first stop at City of Dreams,
and got off at the second stop, Studio City,
checking in right at 3:00 PM.

They even hand out free popcorn during check-in.
Talk about nailing the Hollywood movie concept!

Here's a quick pro-tip for when you check in:
Sign up for a membership card at the info desk
next to the front desk or on the casino floor.
This gets you a 10% discount at
MELCO CLUB affiliated restaurants!
(Plus 50 HKD / ~$6 in gaming credits)

We booked the Celebrity Tower Twin Room,
which offered beautiful, unobstructed views of the park and mountains.

The bedding quality and overall cleanliness were excellent,
allowing us to rest comfortably during our 2-night stay😊

Since our booking included the minibar and snack bar,
all the sodas, beer, chips, and chocolates were completely free!
They also provided capsule coffee and a nice selection of teas.

The bathroom separates the shower booth and sink area.
A really cool touch was the amenity box—if you put the pieces together
like a puzzle, it forms a picture of the figure-8 Golden Reel.

They provide plenty of plush towels,
and the bathrobes and slippers were so thick and fluffy
that it just felt luxurious to use them😊
The elegant red accents throughout the room were gorgeous, too!
3. The Golden Reel Ferris Wheel

When you think of Studio City, the first thing that comes to mind
is the Golden Reel, the iconic figure-8 Ferris wheel.
Even during my first day trip to Macau,
I made sure to ride the Golden Reel at night for the views.
Even when staying at other hotels, you can't miss this
massive wheel glowing brilliantly in gold against the night sky.

Suspended at a staggering 426 feet, it's a world-first design.
Ride it during the day for sweeping horizon views,
or at night to see the dazzling Macau skyline.
It's an absolute must-do Macau itinerary item
that both kids and adults will adore.

Thanks to the Disney collaboration, several cabins
are themed inside with characters like Donald Duck,
Mickey Mouse, and Stitch, so you can ride alongside them 🥹
My cabin featured Judy and Nick,
which made me incredibly happy!🐰🦊

The Studio City Golden Reel
operates from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
Tickets at the door are 100 MOP (~$12),
but if you book in advance, you can get tickets for ~$15 for two people.
* Character cabin fees may be extra

4. Swimming Pool & Water Park

I absolutely love swimming,
so the pool is always the first thing I check when booking a hotel.
Studio City doesn't just have an indoor pool—
it boasts a massive water park with a variety of slides,
making it the ultimate accommodation
for a family vacation focused on water fun!🥹

Divided into indoor and outdoor zones and open year-round,
a huge perk is that you can enjoy the water
regardless of rain or scorching heat.
There are so many types of slides!
From gentle rides perfect for kids
to extreme slides where the floor drops out for a vertical freefall,
it's an absolute blast for adults too!
✨Plus, wait times are under 5 minutes✨
You'd never see lines this short back home🥹

If you plan on hitting the water park,
I highly recommend either ✅booking a room package that includes tickets
or ✅buying your tickets online in advance.
For May and June, walk-up tickets are
around 520 MOP (~$64) for adults,
but if you book ahead, you get a 40% discount
and can snag them for just ~$46.

5. Studio City Dining & Restaurants

Inside Studio City, you'll find a Don Don Donki,
luxury boutiques, sports brands, and Bacha Coffee,
along with famous dining spots like Din Tai Fung.
You can experience incredible dining and shopping
without ever having to step outside the hotel.

The dinner buffet at Spotlight Restaurant
features premium seafood and Chinese/Macanese cuisine,
including Peking duck, snow crab, abalone, shrimp, and tuna sashimi.
It's highly recommended if you want to sample a wide variety of dishes.

For great brunch quality and
especially beautiful desserts, Cafe Gala
is another fantastic dining option 🍽️

With its delicious dining, comfortable rooms,
epic Water Park, Super Fun Zone, and the Golden Reel,
Studio City Macau is packed with entertainment.
There's more than enough to do without ever leaving the property,
making it my top recommendation
for a family vacation with kids.
Be sure to set aside one evening to watch Macau's biggest water show,
The House of Dancing Water!
You can easily get there using the free hotel shuttle bus😊
