During my own 9-day Turkish adventure, the final day was dedicated to free exploration with my travel companions. We decided to try a half-day tour and then seek out some highly-rated local eateries. Among them, Sehzade Cag Kebap, a spot famously visited by YouTuber Tzyang, stood out as incredibly satisfying. I'm excited to share my honest review of this delicious experience!

In Turkey, many restaurants offer outdoor seating, and Sehzade Cag Kebap is no exception. Inside, there are tables on both the first and second floors. We were guided by a staff member to a cozy spot on the second floor.

As we ascended to the second floor, we passed by the chefs expertly preparing the kebab meat, skewering it for the rotating grill. The aroma was absolutely incredible – a truly mouth-watering experience!

Looking at the Sehzade Cag Kebap menu, the main options are divided into two types of Cag Kebap: one where you wrap the meat yourself in a tortilla, and another that comes pre-wrapped. My Istanbul companions and I decided to order one of each to see the difference.

We considered trying Ayran, a popular Turkish yogurt drink, but after all the walking, we were really craving water. So, we opted for the complimentary water. Along with it came raw onions sprinkled with pepper, and rice for the self-wrap Cag Kebap.

A quick heads-up: it's quite common for unsolicited dishes to appear at your table here, and if you accept them, you'll be charged. So, only accept the complimentary raw onions with pepper and bell peppers.

If a salad arrives that you didn't order, simply tell them you didn't ask for it, and they will take it away. It's good to be aware of this!

The self-wrap Cag Kebap arrived with the lamb on skewers and tortillas served separately. We could then add rice, onions, and bell peppers to create our perfect bite. I highly recommend the lamb on skewers with the separate tortillas; it tasted far superior.

While the pre-wrapped kebab, similar to a Subway sandwich, was tasty and convenient for a neat meal, I found customizing my own lamb wrap to be the most delicious experience.

The pre-wrapped option was indeed great for a clean meal, packed with plenty of flavorful meat. The lamb had absolutely no gamey smell, and I could totally understand why Tzyang raved about this kebab!
