R-Mar Resort Patong Review 2026: Quiet Phuket Oasis
Looking for a budget-friendly Patong hotel that's actually quiet? Read our honest 2026 review of R-Mar Resort and Spa in Phuket, Thailand.
Hi everyone, I'm Moarang!
In my last post, I shared my review of
that super cozy and aesthetic stay in Phuket Old Town,
the 'Craft Resort.'
(If you haven't seen it yet, check out the link below!)
🔽 Phuket Old Town 'Craft Resort' Review 🔽
Today, we're leaving the Old Town behind and heading to
Phuket's ultimate hotspot, 'Patong'!
I can't wait to tell you all about the resort I stayed at there.
To be honest, when I was choosing a place in Patong,
being close to the beach was a must,
but I was really worried about the noise at night.
Since Patong is the absolute hub for nightlife (Bangla Road) and shopping (Jungceylon),
I figured it would be super loud.
'Location' and 'Noise'
But I found a place that perfectly solved both of these worries:
none other than the 'R-Mar Resort and Spa.'
Location
📍 R-Mar Resort and Spa
33 Soi Rat Uthit 200 Pi 1, Pa Tong, Kathu District, Phuket 83150 Thailand
The absolute best part of this resort is hands down its 'location.'
As you can see on the map, it's located
right off the main road of Patong.
Even though it's right in the heart of Patong,
it's tucked away in an alley off the main street,
which magically blocks out all the surrounding noise.
Jungceylon Shopping Mall: 10-minute walk
Bangla Road (Nightlife Hub): 7–10 minute walk
Patong Beach: 5–10 minute walk
Being so central meant
I could walk absolutely everywhere, which saved me a ton on transportation costs.
Taxis in the Patong area can get incredibly pricey.
I actually searched Grab for a ride from Jungceylon to the resort
during dinner time, and it was over 300 Baht... Yikes! ㄷㄷ

Lobby & First Impressions

There is a 24-hour security guard stationed right at the entrance.

Stepping out of the busy streets of Patong and into the alley,
we were greeted by a resort beautifully landscaped with lush greenery.

The lobby isn't an air-conditioned indoor space,
but it has high ceilings and is completely open,
making it super breezy and refreshing.
It has that classic, tropical Thai resort vibe!

The staff were also incredibly friendly and welcoming during check-in.

The resort is actually way bigger than it looks from the outside!

Room Condition
Let me show you around the room I stayed in!

It's not exactly ultra-modern or flashy
like those brand-new hotels you see everywhere these days.

With its dark wood-toned interior,
the room had a classic, cozy, and warm vibe.

My absolute favorite part? The floor!
Carpeted hotel rooms can sometimes feel a bit dusty and questionable,
but this place had clean hardwood floors, which felt super refreshing.
Plus, the room was incredibly spacious.
There was more than enough space to lay out
two large suitcases completely flat with room to spare.

They also provided two large umbrellas in the room,
which came in so handy during those sudden tropical downpours!

There’s also a cozy little balcony,
perfect for drying off your swimwear after a dip in the pool.
During the day, I loved sitting out there, eating cup ramen,
and catching up on Netflix haha.
(Phuket's weather was surprisingly pleasant and not too hot!)

But hey, I’ve gotta keep it real, right?
The bathroom features a bathtub,
and the shower area is separated by a glass partition—
so the overall layout was great.
The hot water ran perfectly, and the water pressure was quite strong.
However, since the resort has been around for a while,
you can spot some signs of age on the glass partition's silicone sealant
(like minor mold spots and water stains).
I'm not super picky, so I just shrugged it off,
but if you're highly sensitive to cleanliness,
it might bother you a little.
Also, the toilet water wasn't crystal clear—
it had a slight yellowish tint to it,
so at first, I genuinely thought someone forgot to flush...
The Swimming Pool
The absolute highlight of R-Mar Resort
is definitely the outdoor pool.

To be honest, since it's located right in the middle of town,
I didn't have high expectations for the pool.
But wow, it's actually quite large and gorgeous!
The resort buildings wrap around the pool, creating a cozy oasis,
and with all the palm trees and lush greenery,
it's incredibly photogenic haha.
(And let’s be real, the photos are important! lol)

If you love swimming, here's a detail
you're absolutely going to love!
The water depth starts at 0.6m (kids' zone)
and goes all the way up to 1.8m deep!
Most hotel pools these days only go up to 1.2m, which can feel a bit shallow,
but since this one goes up to 1.8m,
my feet couldn't even touch the bottom... lol.

Most of all, the vibe here is incredibly peaceful.
Over 95% of the guests were Western travelers,
and everyone was just relaxing on their sunbeds, reading books,
or tanning in a wonderfully quiet atmosphere.
Just lying on the sunbed made me think,
"Ah, this is what true healing feels like."
🔽 I've posted a detailed review of the pool bar separately here! ^^
