Pullman Oceanview Sanya Bay Review: Luxury Suite Stay

Since there were no direct flights from Korea to Sanya,

I ended up laying over in Haikou and taking the train in.

Sanya, China?

Located at the southernmost tip of Hainan Island, Sanya

is often dubbed the "Hawaii of the East."

It's China's premier tropical resort paradise.

It's incredibly accessible—only about a 4.5-hour flight

from Incheon to Hainan Island—

and it's a super popular destination for global travelers.

My 5-Star Sanya Hotel Recommendation

The resort I stayed at during this trip

is a stunning 5-star property in the Sanya area:

Since this trip was planned last minute,

I didn't have much time to browse through hotel listings.

But the moment I saw that lush, palm-fringed resort view,

I fell in love and booked it on the spot.

I ended up booking a suite,

which was surprisingly reasonable for a 5-star suite,

and it turned out to be the absolute perfect luxury staycation! I'm so glad I went for it!

Location & How to Get There

10–15 minutes by taxi from Sanya Station

Only 10 minutes by taxi from Sanya Airport

Once you get off at Sanya Station and grab a cab,

you'll arrive at the resort in just 10 to 15 minutes.

Because it sits right on the oceanfront,

the surrounding scenery is absolutely breathtaking.

I also found out later that the hotel

has a private underground walkway connecting directly to the beach.

This turned out to be incredibly convenient!

Early Check-in

The moment I walked into the lobby, I loved how massive

and beautifully open the entire space felt.

The first impression was absolutely wonderful!!!

The front desk staff were incredibly welcoming

and helpful, making the check-in process

smooth and hassle-free.

I arrived quite early, around 11:00 AM.

They said they would contact me as soon as the room was clean

and handed me these coupons so I could enjoy

some complimentary drinks in the lobby lounge while waiting.

The lobby lounge was so beautiful

that just sitting there and sipping my drink

made me feel like I was already living the resort life!

The official check-in time is 3:00 PM,

but they got my room ready early

and let me check in around 1:00 PM!

I had read many reviews online praising

their attentive and friendly service,

and experiencing it firsthand, I can see exactly why.

Dedicated Butler Service

During check-in, you get connected with

your dedicated butler via WeChat.

If you're not sure what a butler service is,

just think of it as your own personal 1:1 concierge! 💁‍♂️

My assigned butler spoke English,

but since I could just use WeChat's built-in translation feature,

I was able to chat comfortably in Korean.

Traveling in China can sometimes be challenging due to the language barrier,

so this was a massive relief.

Even when we ran out of towels or bottled water,

all we had to do was send a quick message on WeChat,

and they delivered them to our door right away.

Thanks to this incredibly convenient service,

our entire stay was completely hassle-free—

I really can't praise it enough!

The Suite Room

This was hands down, out of all the hotels I've stayed in,

the most spacious room ever!!

Having two bathrooms made everything so much more comfortable,

and the bed was so plush and cozy that I fell asleep the moment I lay down.

The amenities were also incredibly well-stocked,

but let me tell you—the balcony view was absolutely spectacular!

The balcony was quite spacious,

so we ended up spending a lot of time out there.

Looking out at the palm trees and the ocean stretching out before us,

this view was the exact reason I chose this hotel in the first place,

and it completely blew my expectations out of the water!👍🏻

Stepping out on a bright, sunny morning,

you truly get those perfect tropical resort vibes.

Looking down at the hotel's pool and the beach,

with the sunlight filtering through the palm trees,

it was the absolute perfect backdrop for photos.

You absolutely must go with the ocean view!! (Zero regrets, I promise)

Pro-Tips Summary

First, it's about a 10–15 minute taxi ride from Sanya Station,

so taking a taxi is by far the most convenient option if you have luggage.

(Taxis in China are quite cheap, so just grab a cab!)
