Phi Phi Island Tour 2026: Phuket Snorkeling
Experience the crystal-clear waters of Maya Bay on a Phi Phi Island day tour from Phuket. Perfect for travelers wanting a complete tropical snorkeling adventure!

Phuket Phi Phi Islands Tour
Snorkeling is an absolute must-do when traveling to Phuket!
I ended up booking an amazing day tour
that packed in the absolute best of Phuket,
including snorkeling, the famous Phi Phi Islands,
and the iconic Maya Bay.
It was the perfect way to see it all!
This was easily the most memorable tour
of my entire Phuket trip. Since my itinerary
was under a week, staying overnight on Phi Phi
felt a bit tight. This day trip was
the absolute perfect solution!
1. Pricing & Booking

✅ Price
Adults: Approx. $100
Children (Ages 4–11): Approx. $60
Ages 1–3: Free
✅ Inclusions
Hotel pickup/drop-off, local guide,
light breakfast, lunch, snorkeling gear,
unlimited drinks/water, snacks, etc.
✅ Exclusions
Pileh Lagoon kayaking (optional),
other water sports, personal expenses

I booked my spot through a local agency.
Unlike some other tours,
they had a slightly later pickup time
and hit all the major highlights in one go,
which is why I chose them! :)
With a 9:00 AM pickup from my resort
near Patong Beach, I finally got back
to my accommodation around 8:00 PM.
It’s definitely a packed itinerary,
but being able to experience all the top spots
in just one day made it incredibly worth it! haha

2. What to Bring

While there are changing rooms and restrooms at the pier,
it gets super crowded with other tour groups.
I highly recommend wearing your swimsuit under your clothes!
Your bags and shoes
are bound to get wet as you hop on and off the boat,
so bringing waterproof gear
will make your life so much easier.

✅ Other Handy Things to Pack
A cover-up (shirt or shorts) to wear over your swimsuit at Maya Bay,
hat, sunglasses, and plenty of sunscreen,
personal cash for kayaking/activities,
a portable charger, waterproof phone pouch, or GoPro,
and motion sickness pills if you tend to get seasick!
(Trust me on the motion sickness pills!)
3. Phuket Phi Phi Islands Tour Itinerary

I was scheduled for a 9:00 AM pickup
at the Graceland Resort,
located right near Patong Beach.
Since this is a group tour with other travelers,
punctuality is key! Make sure you're on time.
Also, because there are so many different tours operating,
be absolutely sure to double-check that the vehicle
you're boarding is indeed for the tour you booked!

Once you arrive at the pier, you'll check in
and listen to a quick briefing.
The waiting area was clean and quite spacious,
and they even serve a light breakfast here,
so you can grab a bite before taking off! :)

When it’s time to head out, everyone sharing
the same boat gathers up—and off we go!

For the Phi Phi Islands tour,
you can choose between a 1-deck speedboat
and a 2-deck catamaran.
Since there's a lot of traveling involved,
I highly recommend going with the 2-deck option.
Since you'll be on the water for most of the tour,
the double-decker boat felt much more stable.
Especially if you're prone to motion sickness,
the single-deck speedboats can get pretty bumpy.
The 2-deck boat has way less sway,
making it a much smoother ride.

They had plenty of water and cola on board
for us to drink as much as we wanted.
Even though our tour group was quite large,
there were plenty of guides looking after us,
so there was absolutely nothing to worry about!
Also, since it's a group join-in tour,
you might worry, "What if they accidentally leave me behind?"
But the guides do a strict head count every single time we board,
so you definitely won't get stranded! haha

The itinerary can vary depending on the season,
but on the day I went,
we visited Viking Cave and Monkey Beach
as our first stops.
Though, we only cruised past Viking Cave,
so we didn't get to see it in much detail.
And as for Monkey Beach... honestly,
I just remember there being way more tourists than monkeys! lol
I think I barely spotted one monkey from far away?

After a quick look around Monkey Beach,
we traveled for another 10 minutes to reach
our first snorkeling spot of the day!
If you're a strong swimmer, you're free to explore
within the boundaries set by the guides.
And if you're not confident in the water, don't worry!
A few guides swim around with safety rings,
so you can just hold onto those and float along. :)

I swam around filming the fish with my GoPro,
and I got so lucky with our super friendly guide!
He actually took my GoPro and captured
a ton of amazing photos and videos for me. haha
I went right around this time last year,
and though I was worried since it was the rainy season,
the water was incredibly clear and clean.
And there were so many fish!
They gave us plenty of snorkeling time,
so I swam and watched the fish
to my heart's content! haha

If swimming isn't really your thing,
you can always head up to the second deck
to take photos and enjoy the stunning views.
That's definitely the best part of the 2-deck boat.
You wouldn't really get to do this on a single-deck one!

After having an absolute blast splashing around in the water,
our next stop on the Phuket Phi Phi Islands tour
was the main highlight: heading over to Phi Phi Island
to enjoy a delicious lunch.
The weather that day was incredibly perfect,
allowing us to see the most vibrant, emerald-blue sea.
It's a memory that still lingers in my mind.
It was so beautiful that I kept thinking to myself,
"I need to come back here on a solo trip next time
and just stay for a whole week..."

Lunch was served as a simple semi-buffet.
The food wasn't overly spiced
and featured very popular, approachable dishes,
so it should suit almost anyone's palate.
Plus, since we worked up quite an appetite from swimming,
everything tasted absolutely amazing! haha

Along with lunch, they give you some free time
to walk around and explore
Phi Phi Island on your own.
During this time, you can relax by the beach,
browse for some unique souvenirs,
or grab some tasty local snacks.

Just keep in mind that since Phi Phi Island primarily caters to tourists,
the cost of living is about 1.5 to 2 times more expensive
compared to mainland Phuket.
For instance, a smoothie that cost 50 Baht (~$1) in Phuket
was around 100 Baht (~$3) on Phi Phi Island.

Our next stop was the stunning Pileh Lagoon,
which is completely surrounded by towering limestone cliffs.
Here, we got to jump in for our second
snorkeling session of the day!

Alternatively, you can pay 400 Baht (~$12) per person
to hop on a kayak,
and I highly recommend doing this!
They take incredible photos for you,
and the views from the water while
kayaking are absolutely spectacular.
Even my parents were so glad we did it,
and they were incredibly satisfied with the experience! haha

Next, we headed to Maya Bay, a absolute must-visit in Phuket
and famous as the filming location of the Leonardo DiCaprio movie,
The Beach.
As you'd expect from such a legendary spot,
it was by far the most crowded place on the tour.
It didn't quite have the quiet, serene vibe from the film,
but standing in front of those gigantic, surreal rock formations
felt incredibly exotic and magnificent.
Since it is a protected national park, swimming isn't allowed—
but you can dip your feet in the crystal-clear water! haha

Our last stop was Khai Island!
Here, you get about an hour
of free time to explore.
You can choose to enjoy
some exciting water activities (for an extra fee),
or simply relax on the beach
while munching on the complimentary
fruits, cookies, and snacks.
It felt like a super busy day, but looking back,
every single stop on this Phuket Phi Phi Islands tour
was incredibly rewarding and well worth it! haha
