Many hotels come with a hefty price tag, but their facilities often feel a little dated. It can leave you wondering, "Am I really paying this much for that?"

1. A Transformed Hotel: Post-Renovation Review

This hotel, once known as "Ohana Waikiki East," received a complete facelift.
Undergoing extensive renovations in 2024, it has been completely reborn as the Outrigger Waikiki Paradise.
I actually stayed here during its "Ohana" days on a previous trip to Hawaii, and even then, its location and basic condition were quite decent.

However, with this recent renovation, everything from the guest rooms and bedding to the bathrooms has been significantly upgraded.
As of 2026, it stands out as a "Hawaii value hotel with excellent condition for its price point."
2. Why We Recommend This Hotel

✅ Prime Central Waikiki Location
The Outrigger Waikiki Paradise Hotel puts you right in the middle of the action. Nearby, you'll find:
International Market Place
Target

And even the famous Kona Coffee Purveyors, a must-visit for coffee lovers!
With so many shops and eateries clustered around, it makes exploring Waikiki incredibly convenient – no need for long commutes during your Hawaii vacation.

✅ Excellent Value for a Waikiki Location
Hotels directly on Waikiki Beach often come with a significantly higher price tag.

The Outrigger Waikiki Paradise Hotel is located just one block back from the beach, offering a more reasonable price point. You can still easily walk to Waikiki Beach in about 8-10 minutes, making it the perfect balance of convenience and affordability.

✅ On-Site Dining Options
This accommodation also boasts popular restaurants right within the hotel, such as Appetito and Tanaka of Tokyo. This is a huge plus, as you don't have to venture far to enjoy a fantastic meal during your Hawaii vacation.

✅ Sparkling Clean, Renovated Rooms
While the rooms were perfectly fine during its "Ohana" era, the renovation has transformed them into a much cleaner, more stylish space with a delightful Hawaiian vibe. If you've ever felt that Hawaii hotels tend to be a bit dated, you'll be incredibly pleased with this upgrade.
3. Studio Queen Bed Room Experience
Based on my stay during its "Ohana" days (and considering the recent renovations only enhanced the comfort):

The rooms were quite spacious,

and the balcony offered ample space. Overall, the room felt clean and inviting.

Since the Outrigger Waikiki Paradise Hotel is situated one block back from the beach, a sweeping ocean view isn't really something to expect here.

I stayed in a city view room, and at night, the city lights created a surprisingly charming atmosphere. It was perfect for enjoying a beer on the balcony.
Furthermore, while beachfront hotels in Waikiki can be quite noisy at night, this hotel, being one block back, offers a relatively peaceful retreat.
It was great to spend the day enjoying the beach and then return to a quiet room for a relaxing evening.
4. Pricing (A Waikiki Value Stay)
For your Hawaii vacation, the Outrigger Waikiki Paradise Hotel typically offers rooms for around ~$230 per night on average.
Among 4-star hotels in Waikiki, this is considered a relatively reasonable price point.
Compared to beachfront hotels like the "Moana Surfrider" or "Sheraton Waikiki," this hotel can often be nearly half the price, solidifying its status as a fantastic value option for your Hawaii trip.
If you search for prices for a stay in June (2026), here's what you might find:
Booking Site | Price |
~$261 | |
~$262 | |
~$231 | |
~$267 |
To compare the lowest prices all at once, check out the Outrigger Waikiki Paradise Hotel.
Keep in mind that accommodation prices in Oahu, Hawaii, can vary significantly depending on the room type and view, so it's always a good idea to visit the booking sites in advance to confirm.
Finding accommodation in Hawaii can sometimes be disappointing when balancing price and satisfaction. However, the Outrigger Waikiki Paradise Hotel offers a perfect blend:
✅ A central Waikiki location on Oahu
✅ A recently renovated, sparkling clean hotel
✅ Excellent value for your Hawaii vacation
It truly hits all three marks.

While it may not offer a flawless ocean view,
if location and clean, modern rooms are your top priorities for an Oahu stay,
I believe this hotel will be a thoroughly satisfying choice for your Waikiki adventure.
