Honestly, Disney World tickets are already quite a splurge,
and you're probably wondering if it's worth buying the 'Lightning Lane' on top of that, right?

The Lightning Lane allows you to use a separate queue
instead of the regular standby line.
Think of it as a fast track.
(DPA = Lightning Lane)
My honest take is that except for Animal Kingdom,
you absolutely need to buy it for Magic Kingdom, Epcot, and Hollywood Studios.

Because it's a World, it gets incredibly crowded,
and even on weekdays, the wait for popular attractions can be a whopping...
over 2 hours – it's insane.
Plus, the weather is often scorching hot.
(Even this K-Confucian girl ended up just wearing a tank top...)
Even if you only visit one of the four parks per day,
you could spend an entire day just riding attractions at Magic Kingdom, and the day will fly by.

The parks are so massive that even visiting just one park a day
can be truly exhausting, and on popular weekends,
long queues can make it even tougher.
Even though it was hot and tiring,
one of the best things I've ever done in my life was... Disney World..!

I'll break down the Lightning Lane, recommended Tier attractions,
and more in detail, so save this post and refer to it when you're making your reservations.
3 Types of Lightning Lane |
There are primarily three types, and
as a heads-up, advance reservations are essential.
The key is that the sooner you book, the better time slots
you can secure.

How to Use & What it Offers
Multi | Can book multiple attractions Tier 1 (1 ride) / Tier 2 (2 rides) Up to 3 attractions available Ride a variety of popular rides |
Single | Book the most popular attraction per park For when there's a must-ride attraction |
Premier | A ticket allowing one use per attraction per park without reservation For those who prioritize convenience over budget |

I recommend buying the Multi-Pass for all parks except Animal Kingdom.
Especially for Epcot, make sure to buy both the Multi + Single first.
The attractions are truly WOW!
When to Purchase Lightning Lane |
The Lightning Lane isn't something you buy on the day of your visit;
you can purchase it in advance.

If you want to ride popular attractions at your desired time,
you need to book as soon as the purchase window
opens.

By the way, to purchase Lightning Lane, you must register your ticket
in the app.
That way, you can book good time slots
and it makes managing your itinerary much easier.

Disney Official Accommodations | 7 days before check-in |
External Accommodations | 3 days before visit |
You need to stay at a Disney Official Accommodation to...
...be able to check in 1 week in advance.

But there are strong reasons to stay at an official hotel,
and I'll share how to get a good deal on it
in the next post.
Using this method, I saved over ~$75 per person
compared to the official price!!

Reservation Start Time | 7 AM Eastern US Time |
Korean Time | 8 PM during Daylight Saving Time (Daylight Saving Time ends on 11/01.) 9 PM during Winter |
After November 1st, Daylight Saving Time
ends, so you need to reserve at 9 PM.

I didn't know this and booked late, so
I couldn't buy an Individual Lightning Lane... As a result,
I waited over 2 hours for the main attractions...
For TRON Lightcycle / Run at Magic Kingdom and
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at Epcot,
definitely buy an Individual Lightning Lane to enter.
(I didn't buy one and ended up collapsing on the ground from waiting.)
What are Multi-Pass Tiers? |
The most confusing thing when buying a Multi-Pass is
the tiers.

Simply put, they are reservation groups
designed to prevent people from reserving multiple popular attractions
at once.
(Because there are so many people... ㅠㅠ)

Tier 1 allows 1 / Tier 2 allows 2.
You can only pre-reserve a maximum of 3 attractions.
(You can choose 3 Tier 2 attractions.)
Animal Kingdom doesn't have tier distinctions,
so you can choose up to 3 attractions there...
Honestly, you don't need a pass for Animal Kingdom.
(Just telling you now, it's a waste of money...)

The important thing is that while you're initially limited to 3 reservations,
after you use your first reservation on the day of your visit,
you can add and reserve other attractions
if you have time. So, if you have extra time, go ahead and book more.
e.g., If you ride Remy's Ratatouille Adventure, a popular Tier 1 attraction at Epcot,
and there's a reservation slot available for Frozen Ever After,
you can then reserve Frozen Ever After too!!!
However, if there are no reservation slots available,
you can't book, so reserving in advance is crucial.
Lightning Lane by Park |

Individual Lightning Lane
Magic Kingdom | TRON Lightcycle / Run, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train |
Hollywood Studios | Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance |
Epcot | Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind |
Animal Kingdom | Avatar Flight of Passage |

You should only buy for Magic Kingdom / Hollywood Studios / Epcot,
but Epcot had the longest waits, so
you absolutely *must* buy one for it.
I rode Guardians of the Galaxy twice... The wait was truly insane;
it was 60 minutes at opening, and by evening it was 180 minutes...
It takes too long ㅠㅠ

Recommended Multi-Lightning Lane Selections
Park | Tier 1 | Tier 2 |
Magic Kingdom | Tiana's Bayou Adventure Peter Pan's Flight | Haunted Mansion Pirates of the Caribbean |
Epcot | Remy's Ratatouille Adventure Frozen Ever After | Soarin' Around the World Spaceship Earth |
Hollywood Studios |
Slinky Dog Dash
Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway
Twilight Zone Tower of Terror
Toy Story Mania
Animal Kingdom
Kilimanjaro Safaris, Na'vi River Journey,
Expedition Everest - no tier distinction
Especially the ones I've marked in red,
honestly, they're so much fun you absolutely have to ride them.

Getting a reservation for 'Slinky Dog Dash' at Hollywood Studios is
really tough, so when reservations open,
book that one first!
I think it was the one I waited for the longest.
If you're not staying at an official hotel and booking 3 days in advance,
it might be difficult to secure a time slot.
How to Purchase |
The purchasing method is actually very simple.

How to Purchase |
1. Purchase Admission Tickets - Klook Recommended 4-day pass is about ~$38 cheaper than the official site |
2. Install the 'DisneyWorld' app |
3. If you've booked accommodation, link your Disney account to your accommodation |
4. Click Lightning Lane. Purchase. |
5. Select date, park, and pass type |
6. Select attraction ride time - Payment |

For Multi / Single passes, before payment,
you can check the available ride times and
then choose.
Premier passes are expensive, but you don't need to
specify a time!
Prices vary depending on the visit date and park,
so you can check them on the Disney app
on the day of purchase.
Review |
More than anything, my stamina... it just ran out.
If you're a newlywed couple, I recommend buying it for the sake of your happy married
life together.

Especially recommended for moms with kids.
I was so tired I really just collapsed.
The tickets were expensive, and adding Lightning Lane
made me question my life choices (LOL), but since I didn't know when
I'd come again, I bought it.

After buying everything, ~$751 just felt like a number that flew by... haha
Disney World is really expensive, so...
I compared ticket prices one by one,
and the official site was ~$713, but a travel agency
was ~$676? The difference is huge..

For October 26th (Mon), 1-Park Per Day, 4 days
for a family of four, it's almost...
a ~$150 difference.. That's massive.
Official Site | Klook | MyRealTrip |
$716 ~$718 | ~$680 | ~$761 |
MyRealTrip was even more expensive than Klook and
the official site! ;;
If you haven't bought yet, check out Klook too!
Coupon: 세시간전2600003

If you apply it, you can even book in the ~$601 range!
So be sure to get a discount and book!
Next time, I'll tell you in detail why you should stay at an official accommodation!
