The weather has been so lovely lately,
it just makes me want to pack my bags and go!
This past weekend, I traveled to Dalian, China, a place with short flight times and affordable prices.
Why Choose Novotel Dalian?
1. Price & Room Condition
Novotel, in particular, is a popular choice among many Koreans because it offers great rooms at an affordable price.
Crucially, I chose Novotel after reading reviews that other hotels had a noticeable cigarette smell.
2. Location
Located in Zhongshan Square, the heart of Dalian,
everything is conveniently close.

Airport within 30 minutes
Restaurants & tourist spots within 10-20 minutes
Check-in is after 2 PM, and check-out is before 12 PM.
There was a staff member at Novotel who spoke fluent Korean, which made checking in incredibly easy.
The breakfast restaurant on the 5th floor, the gym, and the laundry room are also available for use.
Breakfast costs 78 CNY, which is typically in the ~$11-12 range, but it was discounted to ~$7 per person during check-in. However, I was too busy exploring and trying local food, so I skipped it!

This Dalian trip was a family vacation with my mom and aunt, so I looked for a clean and spacious hotel and ultimately chose the Family Suite.

Novotel Dalian for 2 nights and 3 days (Fri-Sun) for 4 people cost ~$173, making it a relatively budget-friendly hotel.

As soon as you enter the room, you'll immediately see one of the beds.
There's a separate room, allowing for a nice separation of space.
This would be great if you're traveling with kids or your parents.
Although both beds are listed as queen-sized on the booking site,
the bed inside the separate room felt slightly smaller.
Nevertheless, the bedding was clean and cozy, ensuring a perfectly sound sleep!
There's also a table and sofa, perfect for enjoying some delicious delivered food.
With large windows and our room being high up on the 39th floor,
we had an amazing view of the surroundings.
The night view was absolutely stunning!
The Family Suite even had a separate dressing room,
which was perfect for organizing shoes, luggage, and all our belongings.
On the table, there were complimentary welcome fruits waiting for us.
They were sweet and fresh – absolutely delicious!
A quick tip for Dalian Novotel: the power outlets might not match your plugs,
so you'll need a travel multi-adapter.
There are bedside tables with outlets on both sides of each bed,
along with C-type and USB ports.
If you're only using a phone charger,
you probably won't need to bring a separate adapter.
They replenished bottled water daily,
and at Novotel, the minibar is complimentary!
You can enjoy all the drinks in the fridge to your heart's content,
though they mentioned they don't refill them like bottled water.
They asked us to speak to reception if we wanted more.
There's one spacious bathroom, and the shower booth is generously sized.
Plus, plenty of towels were provided.
The amenities included body wash, shampoo, conditioner,
disposable toothbrushes, toothpaste, combs, and more.
You really don't need to bring your own toiletries!
The lemon verbena scent was wonderfully refreshing.
