Craving fresh seafood in Da Nang? Moc Quan (Mok Sikdang) is a must-visit! Learn how to beat the crowds, explore the delicious menu, and savor their famous crayfish.

If you're heading to Da Nang, there's one place that absolutely must be on your radar: Moc Quan, the city's premier seafood restaurant.
The catch (pun intended) is that Moc Quan is incredibly popular. If you show up without a reservation, be prepared for a potentially long wait. Trust me, you don't want to spend precious vacation time in a queue!
My friends raved about Moc Quan, so it was a non-negotiable for our trip. To avoid the wait, we decided to be there right at opening time (an "open run" strategy).
This place is genuinely a Da Nang institution, drawing in both locals and tourists alike, even earning a mention in the Michelin Guide. So, if you're planning a visit, I highly recommend either arriving for the morning open run or making a reservation via KakaoTalk (a popular messaging app).
Today, I'll share my Moc Quan experience, including how to book your table and whether they accept card payments. Let's dive in!

How to Make a Reservation at Moc Quan

While we opted for the "open run" approach without a reservation, if you're planning to visit during peak lunch hours or in the evening, I highly recommend booking in advance.
You can search for '목식당' (Moc Sikdang) on KakaoTalk, and the '다낭 목식당' (Da Nang Moc Sikdang) channel will appear.

Simply click the reservation button, fill out the form with your date, time, name, number of guests, and any special notes. Hit send, and your reservation is complete!
Even with a reservation, if the restaurant is exceptionally busy, you might still experience a 10-20 minute wait. Also, given Da Nang's warm weather, I highly recommend specifying your preference for an air-conditioned indoor table when you make your booking.
Our Experience at Moc Quan

We arrived right at opening time, bright and early at 10:30 AM, after a long night at the emergency room with my child (who was unfortunately battling enteritis). Yes, we were eating seafood at 10:30 AM!

We were the very first customers in an empty restaurant. But to our surprise, as soon as we sat down, other eager diners started pouring in right at opening time! It fills up fast!
Once seated, we were handed Moc Quan's menu, complete with large, appetizing photos.

Here's what we ordered:
Garlic Stir-fried Morning Glory (Rau Muống Xào Tỏi)
Grilled Scallops with Cheese (Sò điệp Nướng Phô mai)
Crayfish (Tôm Hùm Bông Nhỏ, 0.55kg)
Cola, Mango Smoothie
This was plenty for two people to eat until completely full. (My child, unfortunately, couldn't eat anything due to the enteritis).
The total bill came out to 1,175,500 VND. The crayfish is priced by weight, and our 0.55kg portion was approximately 962,500 VND. I recommend adjusting the weight based on your group size.

The crayfish is truly Moc Quan's signature dish! The ability to order by weight is a huge plus, allowing you to customize your portion. The meat was incredibly plump and firm, making for a highly satisfying meal.

The staff even helped peel the shells off the crustaceans, so we could enjoy our meal effortlessly without getting our hands messy. Talk about excellent service!

The crayfish paired perfectly with the sauces. It was so incredibly delicious, and the value for money was fantastic. This meal alone made our trip to Da Nang feel incredibly worthwhile.

The grilled scallops with cheese were topped with a generous amount of cheese. I initially worried it might be too rich, but it was surprisingly light and well-balanced. While the portion wasn't huge, it was a satisfying dish for the price!

The garlic stir-fried morning glory played a crucial role in cutting through the richness of the seafood dishes. My husband, who was experiencing Southeast Asian cuisine for the first time, had never tried morning glory before. He commented that it was essential; without it, the meal would have felt too heavy. It’s perfect as a side dish!

At just 49,000 VND, it's an affordable dish you shouldn't miss. It had a lovely garlic aroma without any spiciness, which was just right.

We dined indoors, where the air conditioning was blasting, keeping us cool and comfortable throughout our meal. Despite being busy, the service was friendly and prompt. Overall, this was the most satisfying dining experience of our entire Da Nang trip.

⭐ Moc Quan: Our Verdict
A Da Nang seafood restaurant that perfectly balances excellent value and incredible freshness.
The high turnover ensures the seafood is always fresh, and even amidst the hustle and bustle, the staff diligently peeled our crustaceans and provided kind, efficient service. The fact that it's recognized by the Michelin Guide, proving its popularity among both locals and tourists, is just another reason to visit.
