It's been a while since my last Philippines story, hasn't it?!
This time, I spent about two weeks traveling Palawan,
and I **entered and exited through Manila**!
But, surprisingly, information on a **Philippines Manila shopping list**
wasn't all that abundant...?
So, if you're heading to Manila, you'll definitely want to visit
**SM Mall of Asia** to grab some goodies.

Jovy's Banana Chips Original

First up, let me introduce **my absolute top pick**...
I thought all banana chips were the same,
but no... these are different...
They're **not hard at all, just sweet and wonderfully soft...**
My friend and I bought exactly enough for gifts,
but they were so delicious that after tasting them... we swapped one out for something else
to keep and eat one more ourselves (!?)
Jovy's Crispy Pili Nuts
109.50 pesos (~$2)
And **my friend's top pick** was this!
Jovy really knows what they're doing...
I wish I'd bought more Jovy's products! ㅠㅠ
I thought they were just peanuts, but no...
These are **Pili nuts**, a type of nut found only in the Philippines,
and they're even called the **King of Nuts**, and I totally get why.
They look like almonds but are incredibly soft and
savory... and **that sauce? Absolutely insane!**
Tang, Powdered Juice
Per piece: 19.50 pesos (~$0)
Next up is a popular item that many people buy,
a quintessential souvenir on any Philippines Manila shopping list:
Tang powdered juice!
There's an **enormous variety of flavors**,
and you can just tear off as many as you want
from the attached strips and head to the checkout!
I originally wanted to buy many different flavors, but then I got lazy,
so I ended up getting about ten packs each of mango flavor
and the mixed fruit flavor!
You mix it with 700ml of water, and surprisingly,
it tastes like juice as soon as you put it in! LOL
Oishi Sponge Crunch
10.50 pesos (~$0)
And here's a snack with **insane value for money...**
**Oishi Sponge Crunch!**
It barely weighs anything,
and the price is so good that I bought 10 of them.
And surprisingly, they taste pretty good, too!!
When I met up with the friend I gave them to later,
they said, **"I thought Philippine snacks would be bland,**
**but that chocolate snack was incredibly delicious!"**
I thought, 'Oh... I should have bought more to give out...'
They're so cheap... a ~$0 slice of happiness....
Silka Papaya Soap 65g
16.25 pesos (~$0)
When it comes to a Philippines Manila shopping list,
you absolutely cannot miss **Silka Papaya Soap!**
But here's the amazing part: this **plastic-wrapped version**
is much, much cheaper!
While the quantity is smaller, just like the low price,
when you're packing your suitcase full of souvenirs,
the **cardboard box packaging tends to get squished easily**, so
I personally think this version is better.
Coincidentally, I ran out of body lotion in Coron,
so I tried the Silka Papaya Body Lotion that I saw.
I remember the fragrance being so good,
that my friend and I bought almost 20 of these products...
Fudgee Barr 10-pack
91.50 Pesos (~$2)
(I based the price on the more expensive ones!!)
And... this is why I thought I did well buying the Silka soap in plastic packaging...
It's Fudgee Barr, also famous as a Philippine souvenir.
A friend who visited the Philippines before said these were pretty good,
so I stocked up on a few, but seriously T_T
I thought I packed them carefully,
but they all got squashed...
It's like... a squashed Choco Pie... Mon Cher... Big Pie... Oh Yes... (popular Korean snack brands)
You can't give these to anyone, can you? Guess I'll just have to eat them myself...
There are many different kinds,
but how can I bring these back without them getting squashed?
Hand carry...? I feel like they'd get squashed even in a backpack...
Unless you absolutely *must* have these, and you're confident you can keep them from getting crushed,
I'd personally choose a different snack...
Vitress 50ml

Philippines' quintessential hair essence, Vitress,
is such a great gift for women!
I bought it as a souvenir when I traveled to Boracay a long time ago,
and the packaging has become much more stylish now!
The price for this also varies a bit depending on the volume and packaging!
I've listed the price based on the 50ml size, which is the most popular one people buy!!
Since there aren't many suitable essences for travel,
everyone who receives this is really satisfied! Highly recommended!!
Germano's Chilli

I searched for a Philippines Manila shopping list,
and saw a blogger's post about this, which made me really want to buy it!
Seriously, how can you resist a Roasted Chili garlic sauce
in corn oil ...? I had a feeling it would be delicious even before trying it...
This would be so good just dipping dumplings in it...
It's chili oil, but perfectly seasoned,
giving it that ideal flavor for dipping...!!!!
Nagaraya Adobo
21.50 Pesos (~$0)
This one was a bit polarizing, but for me, it felt like the perfect snack to go with drinks.
My friend, however, found it a bit salty...
Still, adobo is famous in the Philippines, so I wanted to buy a snack that had that 'Philippine vibe' to it.
I tried this, and personally, I'm satisfied!
Dried Mangoes
Dark chocolate enrobed
126.50 Pesos (~$2)
Honestly, I was going to buy the most common 7D brand dried mangoes,
but it had 'Cebu' written too prominently on it, which made me... not want to buy it.
I visited Manila and Palawan,
so it felt a bit odd to give something that said 'Cebu'...?
Regular dried mangoes are so common everywhere you go,
but I heard that these dark chocolate-covered ones
are quite the popular gift these days, so that's what I decided on!
The only downside? I bought just enough for gifts,
so I never actually got to taste them myself! Haha! But the recipients
absolutely loved them, commenting on how unique they were.
Next up, a couple of snacks I pondered over but ultimately
left behind... DuBarry and
Chocomocho chocolate bars, perhaps?
While both are often lauded as must-buy Philippine souvenirs,
they just didn't quite capture my fancy, so I decided to pass!
As for the soaps, I skipped the Kojie San? Kojisan?
whitening soap for a similar reason – it had a very strong Japanese vibe.
Instead, I opted for Silka Papaya Soap, which felt much more authentically Filipino
as a souvenir, so that's what I decided on.
And Colgate? That's another common find I tend to pick up on most
Southeast Asian trips, so I gave it a miss this time!
Off Lotion Overtime

And finally, the mosquito repellent –
this one was purely for me!!!
Seriously, Southeast Asian mosquito repellents are the best,
so no matter if I'm exploring the Philippines, Vietnam, or Thailand,
I always make sure to grab a bottle!
Just a heads-up: discount promotions can vary depending on the season you're traveling,
so expect prices to fluctuate a little!
Sometimes buying in a set is more economical, and sometimes buying individual items is cheaper,
so always do a quick check before you make your purchase!
You know how it is with Philippine shopping hauls –
you *have* to do that iconic 'all my goodies' shot! But alas, I've already
gifted some away and devoured others, leaving me with mostly just squashed Fudgebars... haha
A travel tip: I used my pre-loaded Travelog card to pay directly

When you head up to the second floor from the Hypermarket entrance,
you'll easily spot the storage area marked Package Pick up.
Yes, you heard that right – luggage storage is completely free!
We confidently left one suitcase and two backpacks there.
When you drop off your bags, you'll simply fill out some basic details,
and they'll hand you a numbered ticket.
For pickup, just present your passport,
and they'll verify your name before returning your items.
While some reviews suggest a passport photo might suffice,
I strongly advise bringing your physical passport for complete peace of mind and security!
