1. About Lord Stow's Macao

The original Portuguese-style egg tart pioneer, Lord Stow's Bakery,
has several locations spread across Macao.
While there are other famous spots like:
Margaret's Café e Nata
Bamoo
Koi Kei Bakery
As a frequent traveler who has visited Macao multiple times and tried them all,
I can confidently say that Lord Stow's serves the most moist, flaky, and delicious tarts of them all!

This specific Lord Stow's branch is located
inside the majestic Londoner Macao Hotel on the 2nd floor.

Simply enter the hotel lobby and head up to the 2nd floor!
Since Macao weather can get quite hot and humid (especially from April to November),
try to navigate indoors through the interconnected hotels and malls!
Almost all major resorts on the Cotai Strip are linked internally.

Once you're on the 2nd floor, keep an eye out for the directory signs pointing to Lord Stow's.
It's located near the Bond area. If you get turned around, you can easily ask any of the friendly mall staff for directions.

I arrived at 10:30 AM, right after their morning rush.
Because it was shortly after their 10:00 AM opening, I was able to buy them with absolutely zero wait time.
Plus, getting them fresh out of the oven made the flaky crust and warm custard taste even more heavenly!
4. Taste Test & Review

It takes just one bite to realize why Lord Stow's holds the crown for the best egg tarts in town.
The crispy, multi-layered pastry literally melts in your mouth!
The rich custard filling strikes the perfect balance—creamy, satisfying, and not overly sweet. 👩🏻🍳
It has a sophisticated, caramelized sweetness that makes it an elegant treat, and a perfect gift for friends and family back home.
They pair perfectly with a hot or iced Americano. Trust me, you'll eat two in a blink, so plan on buying 3 to 4 per person! ◡̈

Having traveled to Macao more than five times, here are my personal recommendations
for unforgettable experiences to check out near Cotai!
1. The House of Dancing Water

If you're exploring the Cotai area, you absolutely cannot miss
Macao's premier world-class show, The House of Dancing Water!
This spectacular show utilizes 1.7 million liters of water
in a state-of-the-art stage that is five times the size of an Olympic pool!
After a massive grand renovation in May 2025, 2026 is the absolute prime time to experience it.

If it's running during your travel dates, make sure to book your seats in advance.

2. Studio City Golden Reel Ferris Wheel

For an incredible budget-friendly experience at around ~$6,
the Studio City Golden Reel Ferris Wheel offers stunning panoramic views of the entire Cotai Strip.
It is the world’s first and highest figure-8 Ferris wheel!
