Summer is in full swing, and if you are like me, you are probably scrambling to squeeze in some quality family time before the school year ramps up again.
With school schedules constantly changing, sometimes our summer breaks feel way too short! But that doesn't mean we can't make the absolute most of it.
To help you plan the perfect quick getaway, I've rounded up three of our absolute favorite kid-friendly pool villas and spa resorts in South Korea where we've made some incredible splash-filled memories.

We visited the Gapyeong Relieve Pool Villa during a previous winter break, and it was the perfect cozy retreat.
This spot features a private indoor pool in each villa, and they also open up a spacious communal outdoor pool during the summer season.
Usually, pool villas in Korea charge a hefty extra fee for heating the private indoor pools, which can make a quick trip quite expensive. However, Relieve Pool Villa offered one of the most reasonable heated pool options we found, costing only about ~$45.
The water temperature and pool size were absolutely perfect for our family of three, and it would be equally wonderful for couples looking for a romantic escape.
The villa itself is quite spacious with a duplex layout: the first floor houses the living room and indoor pool area, while the second floor features the cozy bedroom. Thanks to independent air conditioning units on both floors, the humidity from the pool didn't creep upstairs to the sleeping area at all.
The beds were incredibly spacious and comfortable, ensuring we all got a great night's sleep.
We also enjoyed a delicious indoor barbecue. While the gas grill was slightly tricky to operate at first, the food turned out amazing!
One minor detail to note: even with the ventilation fan running and the outer doors open, a bit of the barbecue aroma did drift up to the bedroom.
Aside from that small detail, Gapyeong Relieve Pool Villa offered incredible value for a fun-filled family pool getaway.

Whenever we travel to Jeju Island, WE Hotel is one of our go-to family resorts. The swimming pool facilities here are incredibly peaceful and relaxing.
The outdoor area features a refreshing cool pool alongside a warm, bubbling jacuzzi, while the indoor area boasts a beautifully maintained heated pool. Perhaps it's because we tend to visit during off-peak hours, but it has always been wonderfully uncrowded, allowing us to enjoy some quiet family bonding time.
The rooms also offer a gorgeous distant ocean view, where you can catch glimpses of the sparkling southern sea of Jeju.

Our family absolutely loves hot springs, so our stay at the Deokgu Hot Spring Hotel was an absolute dream.
My parents frequently visit Deokgu Hot Spring whenever they need a relaxing getaway from Gangwon-do, and the hot spring water park here is fantastic for kids.
Our son is a huge fan of hot springs as well, making this a highly recommended destination for multi-generational family trips.
If you are traveling with a larger group, you might find the resort wing more spacious and convenient than the standard hotel wing.
Just keep in mind that the hot spring spa is located in the basement of the hotel building, so you'll have to walk a bit if you stay in the resort wing.
The rooms were incredibly clean, comfortable, and bathed in natural sunlight.
Next time, I'd love to book one of the hotel rooms that features a private outdoor hot spring bath on the terrace!

Outdoors, there is a cold water pool and a warm jacuzzi. Indoors, there is a quiet, warm water swimming pool.
Is it convenient to move to the hot spring if we stay in the resort building of Uljin Deokgu Hot Spring for a family trip?
For a large family, staying in the resort building might be more comfortable. However, since the hot spring facilities are located in the basement of the hotel building, you will need to walk a little from the resort building.
