Kobe Harborland Mosaic shopping mall is

a popular spot for its night views and shopping, but

it's also a blast to explore the character shops and arcade.

This time, as I explored Mosaic shopping mall,

I did a bit of light shopping, checked out the character goods,

and even popped into the arcade – turns out there's a surprising amount to see!

Especially if you're a fan of characters,

you'll find time just flies by as you browse

through Mosaic alone.

This is GIGO, located inside Kobe Harborland Mosaic shopping mall.

It spans both the 2nd and 3rd floors of Mosaic,

so it's quite spacious, and

they have a fantastic variety of arcade games and claw machines.

For all you Mario Kart lovers out there,

you'll be thrilled to find a dedicated Mario Kart game zone here!

Inside GIGO, there was also a small gacha zone.

While it wasn't huge,

it had all the new releases from the second week of March,

making for a surprisingly good selection.

There were also several Hello Kitty claw machines,

and with each one featuring different types of dolls, it was so much fun just to look around.

And yes, there were Zootopia Nick and Judy claw machines too!

There were also claw machines with snack boxes up for grabs,

Personally, I might have given it a try if the snacks inside

were a bit tastier!

You could even try your luck at machines to win figures!

I spotted a Demon Slayer Akaza figure and decided to give it a shot,

but I ended up spending more than it would've cost to just buy one!

Though its popularity has cooled a bit lately,

there was also a machine featuring Oppanzu Usagi, who used to be my absolute favorite!

My boyfriend was personally horrified by these!

And on one side, there's a Purikura (photo booth) zone.

It feels like you're creating a whole new version of yourself,

but it's a fantastic way to make memories on your Japan trip,

so definitely give it a try :)

If you're a character enthusiast,

Kiddy Land is definitely one of those spots you just can't miss

at Mosaic.

Kobe Harborland Mosaic's Kiddy Land is on the second floor.

While it might not be as massive as the Harajuku Kiddy Land,

it's usually less crowded, making it a breeze to browse,

and they've got all the popular characters you could hope for!

Right as you step inside, you'll spot the Rilakkuma Store.

There was a wide variety of keychains and plushies, and even for the same character, they were divided by size, making it really fun to browse.

Kobe is a port city, so they had a Rilakkuma photo zone decorated in a marine concept. It was adorable! 💛

Next to the Rilakkuma store, you'll find the Miffy Store.

Compared to the Sanrio zone, it's a bit smaller, but you'd be surprised how many people are looking for Miffy! :)

They also had cute Miffy keychains and plushies.

As I was sorting through my photos, the red keychain on the left caught my eye, and now I really want to go back and get one!

There were also stationery and handkerchiefs.

The prices were less burdensome than at department store handkerchief sections, so they seemed like a great little souvenir to pick up.

These eco-bags always make me want to buy them whenever I see them these days!

There was also a Stitch figurine zone that I photographed because it reminded me of my dog. Don't you think they bear a subtle resemblance?

There were also Monchhichi keychains, but they mainly focused on the classic line rather than new releases.

They also had Fuggler toys, which are ugly but have a strange cuteness to them.

Personally, I think Fugglers are even cuter than Monchhichis!

It wouldn't be Kiddy Land without a Crayon Shin-chan zone, would it?

I was planning to visit the Crayon Shin-chan shop at Osaka Daimaru, so I just had a quick browse here. While the variety wasn't as extensive as in Osaka, the prices were actually better here. So, if you're planning a visit to a Shin-chan shop, keep that in mind!

And the most popular area was definitely the Sanrio zone.

From Hello Kitty keychains to a variety of other Sanrio character goods, there was so much to choose from! They were all small and adorable, but the prices were anything but cute.
