When planning a trip to Kobe, one of the most popular spots travelers seek out is the Kobe Mosaic Mall.
Located in Harborland, it's a fantastic place to shop, stroll along the waterfront enjoying the incredible night views, and soak in the vibrant atmosphere of Kobe Port.
Just a 3-minute walk away, you'll find the Anpanman Children's Museum & Park and a giant Ferris wheel. Inside the mall, there are popular stores like Seria, Kaldi, GU, and Uniqlo, making it a must-visit for many during their Kobe adventure.

After exploring the Mosaic Mall, I decided to find a spot for dinner. As the sun began to set, I was eager for a restaurant with a fantastic night view of Kobe, which led me to New Muenchen Hafen Burg.

Taking photos inside Japanese restaurants can sometimes feel a bit sensitive, so I didn't capture many interior shots. However, I can tell you the restaurant was spacious with plenty of seating.
I noticed several tables of Japanese patrons gathered for various occasions, which told me this is a popular spot with locals too.
The window seats, offering stunning views of Kobe's nightscape, were definitely the most sought-after.

Given the prime views, there was a 2-hour seating limit for tables, especially those by the window.

The menu items were displayed outside the restaurant as realistic food models, making it easy to see what was on offer at a glance.
There were too many menu pages to include all the photos here, so I'll link to the full New Muenchen Hafen Burg menu below.

For drinks, they offered local Kobe beers like Harbor Kobe Weizen and a selection of wines. However, I went with my usual favorite, a Sapporo draft beer.
While the beer might have been a bit pricey, a cold brew is simply essential in such a lively atmosphere!

They also offer takeout, which is a great option if you're staying at nearby hotels like Hotel Okura or Meriken Park Oriental Hotel. You could enjoy the stunning night views from the comfort of your room!

We were lucky enough to snag a window seat and enjoyed our meal watching the Kobe landscape transform as the sun dipped below the horizon.
With Meriken Park Oriental Hotel directly across from Mosaic Mall, the view was wide open and unobstructed, making it an ideal spot to savor that authentic Kobe ocean-view dining experience.

You might wonder why I ordered Napolitan pasta instead of sushi or Kobe beef in Kobe. The simple truth is, I just really love Napolitan pasta! (Anyone else travel to Yokohama just for Napolitan? 🖐️)
This dish was just as delicious as the Napolitan I've had in Yokohama, and it was served on a hot iron plate, keeping it wonderfully warm throughout the meal.

Since I had barely eaten breakfast or lunch, I also ordered a beef pilaf.
Sometimes the meat in pilaf can be dry, but true to Kobe's reputation for excellent beef, the texture was perfect, and the seasoning was well-balanced and flavorful.

This was my first meal in Kobe, and the combination of delicious food and a stunning ambiance made it incredibly satisfying.

Dining with such a beautiful view truly made me feel like my vacation had officially begun.
The sky in Japan always seems exceptionally clear, making the sunset views even more breathtaking.

Enjoying a Sapporo draft beer in Kobe was also a highlight. It wasn't Sapporo Classic, but the Kuro Label was equally satisfying!

By the time we finished our meal and stepped out, Kobe Port had completely darkened, sparkling with lights.
Being able to shop at Mosaic Mall and then enjoy dinner with such an amazing night view made this place truly memorable.
If you're looking for a great restaurant in Kobe Mosaic or Kobe Harborland, I highly recommend New Muenchen Hafen Burg for a meal with an unforgettable Kobe Port ambiance :)
New München Hafen Burg is located on the 3rd floor of Kobe Harborland umie Mosaic. From the window seats, you can enjoy a Kobe ocean view, including the Meriken Park Oriental Hotel across from Mosaic, along with Kobe's nightscape at sunset.

Neapolitan pasta at New München Hafen Burg is ~$8. The beef pilaf is ~$9 and is served on a hot plate, perfect for enjoying warm.
