Kindness Hotel
A Perfectly Located Stay Near Kaohsiung Main Station
Taiwan
If you're looking for a comfortable and budget-friendly stay in Taiwan, let me share my experience at the Kindness Hotel in Kaohsiung, where I recently stayed in a triple room with my son and a friend.
The location is unbeatable. It's incredibly close to Kaohsiung International Airport, and with so many attractions nearby, our daily itinerary flowed perfectly.
I was extremely impressed with the hotel's cleanliness, and the daily free beer vouchers were an amazing bonus!
Let me give you a detailed look inside this fantastic value-for-money hotel in Kaohsiung.

Around the Hotel

The Kindness Hotel branch I stayed at is located right by Kaohsiung Main Station.
As soon as you step off the train, you're greeted by this stunning photo spot. I think we stopped to take pictures here every single day!

★ Surrounded by local eateries and fast food (McDonald's, KFC). Just a 15-minute walk (~0.7 miles) to Liuhe Night Market.
Location & Airport Accessibility

I honestly think the biggest advantage of the Kindness Hotel is its location.
It takes only about 20 minutes to get from Kaohsiung Airport to Kaohsiung Station via the MRT, making downtown accessibility fantastic.

Once you exit the subway station, the hotel is diagonally across the street. We had a brief drizzle one day, but since it's just a 5-minute walk, we barely got wet.
Plus, the hotel offers free umbrella rentals!

The entrance to this 3-star property is sleek and inviting. Kindness Hotel actually has several branches across Taiwan, and this one didn't disappoint.
Lobby

The lobby was just as clean. As soon as you enter, you see the check-in desk and the elevators leading up to the guest rooms.

To the right of the check-in counter is the cafeteria.
This is a great relaxation space where you can enjoy free coffee, ice cream, and snacks.

Kindness Hotel provides a daily voucher for a free premium drink or beer.
If you're staying multiple nights, you just pick up a new voucher at the front desk the next day. We grabbed our vouchers and room keys and headed upstairs.

The hallways have a slightly retro vibe. Interestingly, there's a water dispenser in the hall, so we used it to refill our water bottles before heading out.
Room Conditions
Boutique Triple Room (Breakfast Included)
1 Single Bed & 1 Double Bed
~$192 for 2 Nights (3 Guests)

Since I was traveling with my son and a friend, we booked a triple room.
We chose it for its value, and I'm happy to report that it looked exactly like the photos online.

Right by the entrance, there's a mini-fridge, a shelving unit, and a wardrobe lined up neatly.

The wardrobe has separate upper and lower sections, making it easy to divide space with your travel companions.
Slippers were also provided inside.

Inside the closet, you'll find a hair dryer and laundry bags.

There's an electric kettle along with teacups and tea bags for a quick warm drink.
Looking around, it felt like the room was stocked with exactly what you need and nothing you don't.
Honestly, I appreciate this minimalist approach since we mostly just used the room to sleep after long days of exploring.

The room featured one double bed and one single bed, and the warm lighting created a very cozy atmosphere.

Because it's a budget-friendly hotel, the cleanliness of the bedding was my biggest concern.
I was relieved to find the sheets absolutely spotless without a single stain.
My friend mentioned staying at a different Kindness Hotel branch in the past that wasn't as clean, but she was thrilled with this Main Station location. We definitely picked the right spot! Haha.

The window looked directly out at another building or apartment complex, so we made sure to keep the curtains drawn when changing clothes.

There was a storage cabinet beneath the TV wall. When I opened it, I found extra pillows stored inside.

The long desk was super convenient for my friend and me to separate our belongings, and there were plenty of power outlets.

Bathroom

While the bathroom wasn't ultra-modern, it was impeccably clean and surprisingly spacious.

Bathroom slippers were neatly arranged for us.

There are shelves on both sides of the mirror to store your toiletries, along with toothbrush cups.

I don't remember seeing many bidets during my previous trips to Taiwan, but they seem much more common now. The hotel toilet had one installed.

It seems they don't completely fill the dispensers for every new guest, but rather refill them when they get low.

It's hard to see in the photo, but there's a sliding glass door for the shower, which is great for keeping the rest of the bathroom floor dry.

The shower featured a massage showerhead. I turned on the massage mode and the water pressure was so intense I thought I was going to fly backward! Hahaha.
It was a bit too strong for me, so I stuck to the regular setting. :)

The provided amenities like shower gel and shampoo were actually quite nice, so I ended up using the hotel's instead of my own.
Cafeteria & Perks

This is the cafeteria located on the first floor next to the lobby.
Here, you can redeem your daily voucher for a premium drink or beer.

Even without a voucher, you can enjoy free coffee and tea anytime.
Don't forget to grab some free ice cream from the freezer in the corner!

I chose the craft beer, and it was surprisingly rich and flavorful. I loved it so much I ordered the same thing two nights in a row! Haha. :)
Overall, my stay at the budget-friendly Kindness Hotel Kaohsiung exceeded expectations.
True to the name, the staff members were incredibly polite and helpful.
We had a wonderful time during our stay, and I highly recommend it for its unbeatable access to Kaohsiung's core attractions.
The room rate also included breakfast, and the spread was so diverse that I took way too many photos—I'll have to share a separate review just for the food!
Depending on your membership tier, Agoda also offers excellent discounts for the Kindness Hotel, so be sure to compare prices before booking.
