🎒 Bari Station Luggage Storage Tip (Deposito bagagli)
If you're passing through Bari and want to explore for a bit, but your luggage is holding you back, don't fret!
Right outside Bari Centrale train station, we found a convenient luggage storage service, allowing us to roam the old town hands-free.

We used 'Deposito bagagli,' located super close to the train station. This was a fantastic choice because it meant we didn't have to drag heavy suitcases over the uneven cobblestone streets. It costs just ~$3 per bag for the entire day.

Although we only needed it for an hour, the daily rate was still reasonable. A nice bonus: backpacks and smaller bags weren't counted towards the charge!
It's super easy to find, right in front of the train station. Here are the locations we used and found:
📍Deposito bagagli
Via Raffaele de Cesare, 3/a, 70121 Bari BA, Italy
📍 Deposito Bagagli
c/o Stazione di Potenza Superiore, Piazzale Istria, 73, 85100 Potenza PZ, Italy
🍝 Bari's Orecchiette Alley (Strada delle Orecchiette)
Once your bags are safely stored, it's time to truly enjoy a stroll through Bari's charming old town.

If you only have 1-2 hours to spare, I highly recommend dedicating that time to Orecchiette Alley (Arco Basso).
Location
📍Orecchiette Alley (Arco Basso)
Strada Arco Alto, 16-7, 70122 Bari BA, Italy
📍 La casa delle Orecchiette
Str. Santa Lucia, 14, 70122 Bari BA, Italy
We walked from Bari train station to the alley, enjoying the city sights along the way. It's about a 15-20 minute walk each way.
As you wander through the alley, you'll effortlessly stumble upon women making orecchiette by hand – no need to search specifically!

As someone deeply interested in local cuisine and food culture, this was a must-visit for me.

✔️Operating Hours
This alley is a residential area, so the pasta stalls are typically open daily (Monday-Sunday) from 9 AM to 7 PM. However, during the hot summer season, some vendors might close for a siesta in the afternoon.
We made sure to visit in the morning, and thankfully, we caught sight of the orecchiette being made!

If you ask me the best time to visit, I strongly recommend between 9 AM and 11 AM (before lunch)!

Visiting in the morning ensures you'll witness the most vibrant scene: grandmothers skillfully shaping fresh orecchiette pasta on wooden boards right outside their homes.

You'll also see freshly made 'ear-shaped' pasta drying in the warm Italian sun.
For those who love to cook, be sure to grab some beautifully packaged dried pasta as a unique souvenir from Southern Italy!
The fresh pasta sold here is often in larger quantities, so we opted to buy smaller bags of dried orecchiette from a local supermarket to enjoy during our trip.

Final Thoughts
✅ If you want to experience the unique character of Bari!
If you're just passing through Bari, drop off your luggage and make sure to include this easy walking tour in your itinerary. It's a fantastic way to quickly immerse yourself in the local culture.
The old town itself is also wonderful for a leisurely stroll.

I'll be back soon with more exciting travel stories. Your likes and comments always mean a lot! 💛
