How to Book Hong Kong Macau Ferry for Free or at the Lowest Price
Sharing the Latest Updates

Hey everyone, I'm afraid I have some news right off the bat:
The free Hong Kong Macau ferry promotion already ended last month!
So, unfortunately, there's no way to enjoy a free one-way Hong Kong Macau ferry ride anymore!
But don't worry, for all of you, I'll share everything:
from how to book Hong Kong and Macau ferries at the lowest price,
to tips on using them, and even my personal review!
How to Book Ferries at the Lowest Price
I booked a round-trip Hong Kong Macau ferry ticket
and enjoyed 2 days exploring Hong Kong and 1 day indulging in a hotel stay in Macau.
For those of you planning to visit both Hong Kong and Macau like I did,
the ferry is a much better option than the bus, offering more convenient operating hours and often quicker access to key areas.
I highly recommend taking the ferry!
As I mentioned earlier, the free usage period is over,
so you'll have to book at the lowest possible price!

There are two main companies operating Hong Kong Macau ferries:
one is TurboJET (red),
and the other is Cotai Water Jet (blue).
Personally, for those who get seasick or are short on time,
I recommend Cotai Water Jet (the blue ferry) over TurboJET.
Here's why:
👉Cotai Water Jet boats are larger,
👉and they have more departure times, giving you more options to choose from.
I compared the cheapest places to buy Hong Kong Macau ferry round-trip tickets,
and no matter how you slice it, Klook was the cheapest!
If you're traveling with friends or as a couple (2 or more people)
and planning to book a round-trip Hong Kong Macau ferry ticket,
it's actually cheapest to buy two one-way tickets to cover your round trip!
KKday | Klook | MyRealTrip |
~$21 | ~$19 | ~$25 |

KKday | Klook | MyRealTrip |
~$24 | ~$23 | ~$25 |
If you're traveling solo, the price will be a little higher than the per-person rate when booking two one-way tickets,
but even then, Klook was still the cheapest booking site.
Since there's a difference of up to about ~$1 compared to other sites,
it's definitely most affordable to book with Klook!
Also, a word of caution when booking your ferry:
If you try to book the day before your trip, ferries might already be sold out,
so it's best to book in advance.
I highly recommend booking well in advance!!!!
(Learned from experience! 😉)

Since so many tourists use these ferries,
booking in advance is the safest way to ensure your round trip!
Otherwise, you might not be able to return, or the timings could be too packed,
or you might have to depart even earlier!
How to Use the Ferry

Go to the link above,
select one-way Hong Kong -> Macau,
then pick the promotion that offers the best deal,
and finally, choose your desired ferry time and pay, and you're done!

If you're traveling solo, instead of selecting for 2 people, just pick a one-way ticket for 1 person
and book your round trip!
Once you've paid, a voucher will be sent to your email!
Just take that voucher to the ferry terminal,
exchange it for a physical ticket, and then board the ferry.
📍 Hong Kong Macau Ferry Terminal
168 Connaught Rd Central, Sheung Wan, Hong Kong
If you've purchased your ferry ticket,
just head to the Hong Kong Macau Ferry Terminal and go to your specific ferry company's
ticket exchange counter, show your voucher, and exchange it!

As I mentioned, rather than TurboJet (red),
the Cotai (blue) ferry company is larger and offers more diverse timings,
so I recommend booking with Cotai Ferry from the start.

Once you arrive at the pier, to make it easy to find your way,
you can follow these boarding gate signs,
and since you're traveling from Hong Kong to Macau,
you must have your passport with you!

After checking your exchanged ticket and passport, a staff member
will assign your seat with a sticker on your ticket.

Board the ferry on time; there's a separate place to store luggage,
so you can store it there and then take your assigned seat.

As expected, the bigger the ship, the less it sways and no seasickness,
so my friend and I just slept soundly... lol

We ate snacks on the ferry,
searched for Macau's best restaurants,
and just like that, we arrived in Macau exactly an hour later!
It was almost as easy and comfortable as taking a bus,
so if you're planning to travel between Hong Kong and Macau,
definitely book a round-trip ferry ticket!
Hong Kong & Macau Travel Review

Thanks to booking the ferry with my friend, we were able to fully enjoy our trip to Hong Kong and Macau
and make the most of both destinations.
In Macau, we indulged in a 5-star hotel experience at an amazing value,
enjoyed the night views, and even went on a tour!

In Hong Kong, I explored all the classic spots: the Mid-Levels escalator, the thrilling Peak Tram, and savored delicious egg tarts.
I also made sure to catch all the best night views!

Hong Kong is packed with amazing sights like Disneyland and its incredible nightscapes.
Macau, on the other hand, is fantastic for a luxurious 'hotel-cation,' making it perfect for family or romantic couple getaways.
I highly recommend booking your trip for April or May to make the most of it!

And that wraps up my guide on how to book your Hong Kong-Macau ferry tickets for free or at the lowest possible price!
