I recently took a business trip to Chenghai, a district within Shantou (汕头) in Guangdong Province, China. This area is a bustling hub for toy and plastics manufacturers and showrooms, making it a critical destination for my work.

With an itinerary packed with visits to various companies and showrooms, my priority for accommodation was a convenient location and excellent room conditions. When you're constantly out and about for work, the proximity of your accommodation to your business appointments becomes paramount. During my Chenghai trip, I had no complaints about the location whatsoever. The front desk staff were also incredibly friendly and helpful, making my check-in process and entire stay smooth and comfortable.

The area around the hotel boasts attractions like the traditional Chen Cihong Former Residence and Zhanglin Old Port. Spotless and Modern, Just Like a New Build

Having opened in 2023, the rooms at this hotel felt incredibly clean and fresh. There was none of that dated, worn-out feeling you sometimes get in older business hotels. From the moment I stepped inside, it was clear the room was meticulously maintained.

The room size was perfectly adequate, and I appreciated having a small table. It was ideal for setting up my laptop and getting some work done comfortably after a long day.

A Peaceful Retreat: No Noise Worries Here

I'm a light sleeper, and even in the cleanest rooms, noise can sometimes keep me up. However, during my stay, I was pleasantly surprised by how quiet the room was. I barely noticed any sounds from the hallway or neighboring rooms.

Being quite close to a main road, I initially worried about traffic noise. Yet, it wasn't an issue at all inside the room. I was able to get a full, undisturbed night's sleep throughout my stay, which is a huge plus for any traveler.

Throughout my entire business trip, I was able to relax comfortably in my room without any concerns about the location or room quality. There was never a moment where I felt the need to switch hotels.
