Guam Trip with a Toddler 2026: Korean Air & Infant Travel Tips
Planning a Guam trip with your toddler? Get insider tips on flying Korean Air with an infant, from bassinet booking and special meals to airport parking for a stress-free family vacation.

Our 4-night, 5-day family adventure to Guam with our little one!
We embarked on our first international trip with our 23-month-old baby, just before their second birthday (24 months) when airfares typically increase. It was a strategic move to save on ticket costs!

We flew Korean Air, departing from Incheon International Airport Terminal 2. As this was our very first overseas trip with a baby under 24 months, there was so much to prepare, from booking tickets to packing in-flight essentials. If you're planning a Guam trip with your little one, I'm excited to share all the practical tips and our in-flight experience in detail.
1. Scoring a Valet Parking Spot at Incheon Airport Terminal 2 When It's Fully Booked

Traveling with a baby means tons of luggage, making Incheon Airport's official valet parking service an absolute lifesaver! Did you try to book and find it's already full? Don't give up just yet!
Here's a pro tip: pre-fill all your basic information on the reservation page. Then, continuously click the calendar date button. You might just snag a cancellation! Many people report success trying late at night, around 10-20 minutes past 11 PM. I tried it myself around 11 PM and successfully grabbed a spot! Thanks to the valet service, we could easily get to the airport without the stress of loading and unloading all our baby's gear. What a relief!
2. Korean Air Booking & Travel Tips for Infants Under 24 Months

For infants under two years old (24 months), you can typically book a ticket for about 10% of the adult fare. Keep in mind, this usually doesn't include a separate seat for the baby.

After purchasing your flight, you can request a bassinet-compatible seat (front row seats) through the Korean Air app or on their website under 'My Reservations'. Do note that bassinets are only available for babies weighing up to ~24 lbs (11 kg) and measuring up to ~29.5 inches (75 cm). Flight attendants will reconfirm your baby's weight and height onboard.

While our little one didn't actually sleep in it, they seemed to recognize it as 'their own space' and happily played there, allowing mom and dad to enjoy their in-flight meals in peace!

For our departure flight, we pre-ordered a special baby meal: the bulgogi menu. Our little one, Lee Seo, absolutely loved it, from the banana milk to the pumpkin puree! A quick tip: baby meals are usually served well before the adult meals. We recommend parents take turns eating to ensure one parent is always available to care for the baby.

Infants are also allowed one piece of checked baggage (up to ~22 lbs / 10 kg), one stroller, and one car seat, all free of charge. Utilizing the 'Door to Door' service for your stroller is highly recommended; you can keep your stroller right up until the boarding gate, hand it to the flight attendant, and it will be returned to you immediately upon arrival. This makes navigating the airport much, much easier!

Korean Air provided child-friendly headphones and a Pororo gift, which kept our little one entertained with nursery rhymes throughout the 4-hour flight. It made the journey surprisingly smooth and enjoyable!

And here's a game-changer: packing plenty of silicone bibs and wet wipes was an absolute stroke of genius! They made mealtime cleanups incredibly easy, even with spills, and were simple to wash. We used them constantly throughout our entire trip.
Our first international trip with 23-month-old Lee Seo had its share of worries, but it turned out to be a wonderfully memorable and joy-filled experience. ❤️ I hope these tips are helpful for all the moms and dads out there planning a Guam trip with a child under 24 months. Feel free to leave any questions in the comments below! Next time, I'll be back with a review of budget-friendly accommodation in Guam, Onward (Hoshino) Resort, and our car rental experience. Happy travels! ✈️✨
