Dreaming of a cozy jazz spot in Granada? Bohemia Jazz Cafe offers a magical "La La Land" ambiance and live music, ideal for a relaxing evening.

When I was planning my trip before leaving,
I discovered a cafe near my accommodation with a La La Land-esque jazz bar vibe,
and immediately
pinned it on my Google Maps.
Its unique atmosphere looked incredibly beautiful,
and since they even host live jazz performances on weekends,
I knew I absolutely had to visit if I had the time.
After my Granada Alhambra tour wrapped up,
I got some well-deserved rest at my place and headed out to this jazz cafe!
Let's dive into Bohemia Jazz Café :)

Granada Jazz Cafe: Bohemia Jazz Café

Located just a short walk from my accommodation,
Bohemia Jazz Café!
Since there isn't a super bright, flashy sign,
I read reviews saying people weren't sure if it was open.
But as soon as I saw the round sign lit up,
I knew for sure that they were open for business.

In Spain, it's very common to see restaurants setting up outdoor tables
with people sitting outside enjoying themselves.
Because this place doesn't have that, I guess some might think it's closed.
Personally, I loved how clean and uncluttered the storefront looked.
Table Seating

Once you open the door and step inside,
don't just walk in and grab any empty table on your own!
First, stand politely near the entrance
and wait for a staff member to come over to you.

When the staff member asks how many people are in your party,
that's when you tell them your group size
and let them guide you to your table.
Remember, don't just seat yourself!
Waiting Time

Because it's a spot beloved by Granada locals,
the inside was packed with local regulars.
So if your timing is a bit off,
you might have to wait for a table.

The people who arrived right after us had to wait
because there were no seats left.
People in Spain tend to linger for a long time once they sit down,
so the table turnover isn't very fast.
Keep that in mind and plan your timing wisely when you visit!
Interior Vibes

Honestly, the moment I opened the door and stepped inside,
I was absolutely blown away by the incredible interior.
I was so exhausted after my Granada tour
that I seriously debated just staying in and resting.
It would have been a massive mistake if I hadn't come here!
This wasn't just a place trying to mimic a vibe;
it was clear that someone who truly loves jazz
put an immense amount of care and thought into designing this space.

The walls were filled with CDs, vinyl records, and photos,
with all kinds of unique liquor bottles beautifully lined up.

I could instantly feel why people say
this place reminds them of La La Land.
There wasn't a live jazz performance on the day I visited,
but if there had been, it probably would have been so packed
that I wouldn't have even made it through the door.

My table was right in front of the counter,
so I couldn't get a great view of the inner decor.
I think it was because a large group was sitting there,
but it made me so curious about how beautifully decorated the rest of the space was.
It was a bit of a bummer that I couldn't see it!
Menu & Drink Recommendations

The menu itself was super unique!
It wasn't just a list of drinks in different fonts;
it was filled with jazz-related photos
that perfectly matched the vibe of the place.

While they had a ton of cocktails,
I'm not much of a drinker, so I opted for
some simple non-alcoholic café drinks instead.
What We Ordered
Piña con leche de coco
café
DOLCE VITA
Since the language was unfamiliar, it was a bit tough to choose,
but they were so patient with me while I decided,
which gave me plenty of time to translate the menu with Papago!

Quick tip: if you want to avoid alcohol like me,
make sure to read the descriptions underneath, even if the drink name sounds totally normal.
Some might contain spirits or vodka, so if you're trying something new,
it's always a good idea to ask the staff if it has alcohol in it
before ordering.
Bohemia Jazz Café Drink Review

If you hang out and look around the cafe for a bit,
all your drinks will arrive at once.
Honestly, at this exact moment, it felt like
I was chilling in one of those super trendy, atmospheric cafes
back home in Korea!

café
This is your standard iced coffee!
If you're craving a classic Korean-style iced Americano,
this is definitely the one to get.

Piña con leche de coco
A delicious blend of pineapple and coconut milk—
it tasted exactly like I imagined.
It gave off total tropical vacation vibes,
like a mocktail you'd sip at a beachside bar
in Southeast Asia!

Since it's served with crushed ice,
it would be incredibly refreshing
if you visit on a hot day.
Though, since I visited in the winter,
it was actually a little chilly!

DOLCE VITA
I spent a lot of time debating before finally deciding to give this one a try.
When I saw the words "chocolate, coffee, and nata (cream)"
in the description, I just knew.
This was exactly the kind of sweet treat I was looking for!
It tasted similar to an Einspänner,
and I highly recommend it if you love sweet coffee.

Maybe it was because of the amazing atmosphere,
but the drinks tasted even more delicious!

For the first time in a while, we enjoyed a slow, relaxing moment
and shared our thoughts about everything we've felt during the trip.
How to Pay

When dining out during a trip to Europe,
the most stressful part is always figuring out how to handle the bill.
Since the dining culture is quite different from what we are used to,
every time we were ready to leave, I would look up the restaurant's name online
to see how other travelers paid before leaving.

At Bohemia Jazz Café, when you are ready to pay,
just make eye contact with the staff standing near the counter
and ask them for the bill.

They will hand-write your ordered items
with a pen on a small slip of paper like this.
All you have to do is take this paper to the counter
and complete your payment.

When paying, they asked us if we had cash.
But since we had been exclusively using our travel cards the entire time
and didn't have any cash on us, we paid by card.
Even if they strongly prefer cash,
as a foreign traveler, if you present your card,
they will gladly process it for you, so don't worry too much!

Honestly, I absolutely loved this payment method.
Since you carry the bill directly to the counter,
you can pay and leave immediately without waiting around for the check.
Granada, Spain: Bohemia Jazz Café Recommendation

Of all the cafes I visited in Spain,
the first one that always comes to mind is Bohemia Jazz Café.
It left such a massive impression on me,
and it was a place where I could truly feel the authentic local vibe.
So if you're in town, definitely stop by and check it out!
When you open the door and enter, do not sit at an empty table right away. You should stand by the door and wait for a staff member. When they approach and ask for the number of people in your party, they will guide you to your table.
We recommend the 'DOLCE VITA', which contains chocolate, coffee, and nata (cream). It is a sweet coffee that tastes similar to an Einspänner. If you are unsure whether a new menu item contains alcohol, it's best to check with the staff beforehand.
After finishing your drinks, ask a staff member near the counter for the bill. They will give you a handwritten receipt. You take this paper to the counter to pay. Card payments, such as Travel Wallet, are also accepted.
This place is frequented by many local regulars in Granada, and Spanish people tend to stay for a long time once seated, so table turnover is not fast. It is especially popular on weekends when there are live jazz performances, so you should plan your visit accordingly.
It's called 'Piña con leche de coco', and it tastes like a non-alcoholic drink from a Southeast Asian cocktail bar. It contains crushed ice, making it very refreshing to drink when visiting on a hot day.
