1. EDC Thailand 2026 Review

First, for overall information about
EDC Thailand 2026 (held in January 2026), check out my previous post below!

EDC Thailand 2026 Lineup, Venue, Tickets, and Review
I finally made it to EDC Thailand, which took over Phuket for three epic days from Friday to Sunday, January 17th, 18th, and 19th, 2026!
Today, I'm sharing my honest review of the festival,
the chaotic Phuket traffic situation,
and some essential survival tips. Let's dive right in!
According to my original plan, I was supposed to land on Saturday evening,
catch the latter half of Saturday's sets, and rave all day Sunday...
I was especially stoked to see FISHER's set, but...

due to my own foolishness, I actually missed my flight from Bangkok. 🤦♀️
So, I completely missed Saturday's action
and only managed to make it to the entrance before turning back.

Now, EDC Thailand is hosted in Phuket.
I'd heard horror stories about Phuket traffic,
but I had no idea it would be this brutal...
The second I stepped out of Phuket International Airport to head to the festival,
the traffic nightmare officially began.

The heart on the map of Phuket above
marks the venue for EDC Thailand 2026.
First off, hailing a ride at Phuket Airport is incredibly tough.
But using my survival skills from hailing cabs in heavy snow back home,
I kept spamming the app until I finally snagged a Grab! Success!
The traffic inside the airport itself is a bit better than Bangkok's,
mainly because Phuket Airport is much smaller.

Also, the road leading into Rhythm Park
where EDC is held
gets insanely congested, making it almost impossible for cars to enter.
So, I highly recommend parking your car or scooter
near the main entrance where everyone else does.

From there, you can hop on a motorbike taxi
or just walk if you have some time.
The path from the Rhythm Park entrance to the actual festival grounds
is completely packed with scooters,
making navigating through the crowd quite a challenge.

Also, I headed back from the festival venue to Patong with some Chinese friends...
sharing a private bus we rented together.
So, we didn't have to struggle at all when leaving the venue.
If you're coming to EDC Thailand,
and you're in a group, definitely consider booking a private bus in advance.
(And no, I don't mean the official shuttle!!!!)
Why?
Because once the festival ends,
trying to catch a ride at the entrance of Phuket Rhythm Park is practically impossible, and local drivers quote sky-high prices.

The next day, Sunday, I met up with friends for 2026 EDC Thailand
at 3 PM.
After about an hour-long ride,
we entered the festival grounds around 4 PM.
Since it was still daytime, the sun was blazing and it was incredibly hot.
In that exact moment, I fully understood why everyone was wearing bikinis.
It might not look like there are many people in the photos, but...
Unlike EDC Korea, EDC Thailand is...
absolutely MASSIVE,
and because there are so many people,
everyone was hanging out in the shady corners to escape the heat.

True to Thailand's reputation, daytime EDC was so hot,
so we grabbed a cold beer first...

Wondering where everyone hides during the day at EDC Thailand?
They're all gathered here at this "casino" making friendship bracelets!

It’s kind of like... a casino,
but it felt hilarious, almost like a rehab center
set up to prevent people
from getting way too drunk or high. 😂
Haha, everyone was insanely focused on making bracelets,
and then gambling with them!
LOL.
Seriously, if your hands are shaking, you can't even thread
the Kandi beads onto the string,
so it's actually the perfect way to sober up...
Plus, there were so many massive festival rides
that you'd never see at EDC Korea or EDC China—
exactly what you'd expect from a world-class EDM festival!
Seriously, I felt like I was in Las Vegas!
They spun that Tagada ride so wild
that it completely sobered me up. I was screaming my head off and having the absolute best time.
Definitely give it a try before you drink too much!

Since you’ve made it all the way to Thailand, I highly recommend arriving early around 4 PM.
Surprisingly, because it's too hot to jump around during the day, you save your energy
and won't feel completely exhausted even by midnight.

The 2026 EDC Thailand lineup was incredible,
and the crowd was massive!
There were so many Westerners.
I had no idea there were this many Westerners in Phuket before I came here.
I barely saw any Koreans—
I only saw the Korean flag once.
It was a mix of Westerners from all over (honestly, couldn't tell them apart;), lots of Chinese crowds, and although rare, I did spot one Japanese group.
They came dressed in cute cosplays!
Like they were about to shout "Irasshaimase!" at any moment...
Spotted a good crowd from Hong Kong and Taiwan too!

Since we're in Thailand, at EDC Phuket...
You've gotta sip on some cold Chang beer! 🐘

At EDC Thailand,
you can actually ride the iconic Ferris wheel!!!
But the line gets pretty long.
That's because they only let you ride with your group (usually just 2 people),
so the line moves incredibly slowly.
It's worth riding once, but twice? Probably not.

Since it's EDC, they blast spectacular fireworks throughout the night!
We also met up with a Chinese friend
who lives in the US but still has
that raw, unpretentious charm.

Honestly, the EDC festival grounds are absolutely massive, and the crowd is insane!
Thailand is just the absolute best. 🙌
And did you know? EDC Thailand wraps up at midnight.
An EDM festival that keeps going until midnight is just perfect...
After pushing through the post-festival traffic
to get back to Patong, Phuket—
where our hotel and the official EDC after-parties are—
it'll be around 1:30 AM to 2:00 AM.
If you're planning to hit up the after-parties,
time is precious, so I highly recommend grabbing a quick bite at a convenience store!
Just keep in mind that Thailand has strict hours for selling alcohol,
so you won't be able to buy drinks at convenience stores late at night.
If you want to pre-game with beer,
it might actually be more cost-effective to order drinks
while grabbing a meal at a restaurant.
EDC Thailand - Official After-party
: Illuzion Phuket, Yona Beach Club
Review
Illuzion Phuket & Yona Beach Club
For both the 2025 and 2026 editions, EDC Thailand's
official after-parties
were held at Club Illuzion in Patong, Phuket.
📍 Illuzion Phuket
31 Bangla Rd, Pa Tong, Amphoe Kathu, Phuket 83150 Thailand
I didn't realize this before going,
but Club Illuzion is a massive, world-renowned, and absolutely legendary venue!!!
The music was top-tier,
and the vibe was just unreal...
Don't even try to compare it
to those sketchy clubs in Bangkok playing weird K-pop remixes.
Seriously, no comparison.
With people smoking ... all around you, it actually adds to the dark, mysterious,
and incredibly fun vibe.
Even if you don't partake, when everyone else is going wild,
it's impossible not to have a blast!

However, Patong Beach Street can be
quite a culture shock if you're not prepared...
And for a solo Asian female traveler,
it can be a bit overwhelming.
(Not necessarily dangerous, but dealing with the constant call-outs can get annoying.)
So, I'd highly recommend going with a group—whether it's with friends from China, wealthy locals, travelers from Hong Kong,
or even a boyfriend you brought along from home.
Make sure you have someone by your side!
At Club Illuzion, the official after-party venue,
I missed the day Fisher performed, so I can't speak on that,
but the next night when Eli Brown played, the entry fee was 1,500 Baht (~$43).
I'm not sure who played the day after that,
but even with a lesser-known DJ on the day after EDC Thailand wrapped up,
the entry fee was still a hefty 700 Baht (~$20).

Phuket's Illuzion club, the official EDC Thailand after-party venue,
even sells its own club merch!
haha
At first, I was like, "Huh?"
But after partying there,
I totally get it. It kind of gives off those Ibiza merch vibes.
Illuzion Phuket has two floors,

Once you visit Phuket,
you'll understand why Thai locals say Bangkok has no fun clubs
and call it a club wasteland!
Please forgive me
for calling Thailand boring after only visiting Bangkok! 😭

They even have one of those 360-degree selfie cameras
that makes you feel like a TikTok star.
The place is absolutely packed inside,
and you can totally get in using just a copy of your passport.

See those staring eyes?
Since there are plenty of people staring like that inside, too,
if you want a hassle-free and comfortable night,
I highly recommend bringing a guy friend or a guy you're seeing
along with you.
To be honest, some of the Caucasian guys on Bangla Road (Patong)
look down on Asian girls. It's so frustrating.
It really makes me mad!
Booking a table is a good option,
but honestly, you can still have an amazing time without one.
Around 3:00 or 4:00 AM, Phuket Illuzion's connected
underground club,
Shelter, opens up...
And this is where the real magic happens.
You absolutely have to go and party there until 6:00 AM!
But still, even at Shelter, those creepy stares...
those guys staring are still there.
I hung out with a male Thai friend,
...though it was a bit of a reality check when he spoke Thai (haha),
partying with him made the night so much more comfortable.
Plus, he bought all the drinks, paid my entry fee,
and honestly, it didn't hurt that he was super handsome! 😉
If it wasn't for him, I probably would've hung out with some guys from Hong Kong.
I'm not sure if there are this many Asians when EDC isn't happening, though...
Anyway, I seriously thought Phuket is absolute heaven
for clubing with your boyfriend.
Skip Shanghai and go to Phuket with your boyfriend instead!
Also, a quick tip:
Grab rides are incredibly hard to catch
around Patong in Phuket.
So, even if you book a nice hotel as your main accommodation,
if you get stuck without a ride,
I highly recommend booking a cheap hostel
just a 5-minute walk from the Patong clubs
where you can just crash for the night.
It was so convenient for me to just walk over and pass out after partying.
This Phuket hostel is only about ~$19 a night!
Sleep Box Patong - Hostel Reviews & Special Rates - Phuket Hotel Recommendation | Trip.com
Highly, highly recommend booking this as a backup accommodation!
Also, as the official EDC Thailand after-party,
Yona Beach Club Phuket hosted an official after-party
on Monday, the day after EDC ended.
Loco Dice was the guest DJ,
and I became a massive fan!
Looking back, the ticket was almost ~$64,
but it was worth every single penny.
You must go!
3. EDC Thailand Tips & Hotel Location Recommendations
The scale is way bigger than EDC Korea. I highly recommend checking the DJ timetable beforehand!
Go all out with your outfit (dress to impress!), but please, wear comfortable shoes.
Traffic in Phuket is pure hell... Keep this in mind!
Get to the EDC festival venue
early to ride the attractions, make wristbands, and explore all the fun activities.
Buying drinks inside: Both cash and cards are accepted, BUT
you top up your festival wristband in increments of 1,000 Baht -> then use that balance to buy food, drinks, and alcohol.
But if you pay with a card, they charge an extra fee... seriously? 🖕
And they don't refund any leftover balance on your wristband.
So manage your spending wisely!
The restrooms have toilet paper at first,
but they run out later on 😭 Bring your own tissues!
(Is it just me, or does drinking always make you need to run to the restroom?????)
When booking a hotel in Phuket for EDC,
your main options are either near the venue (around Rhythm Park)
or over in Patong, closer to the EDC Thailand after-parties.
Here are some great hotel options in the Patong area of Phuket.
Chateau de Ville Patong Reviews & Special Rates - Recommended Phuket Hotels | Trip.com
My Chinese friends were absolute geniuses at picking hotels,
and they highly favored Raya Resort below.
It's reasonably clean, reasonably close to the EDC Thailand venue, and overall a solid choice!
Raya Resort Phuket Reviews & Special Rates - Recommended Phuket Hotels | Trip.com
And
it gets insanely hot during the day. Some people even show up to the EDC festival in bikinis,
and honestly, I completely get why.
Getting from Patong to the EDC venue in Phuket takes at least 1 to 1.5+ hours.
When you reach the bottleneck near the entrance where everyone starts hopping out, just get off and grab a scooter taxi or walk.
Booking a private shuttle in advance is also a fantastic idea.
But please, be extremely careful if you ride a scooter after drinking!
If you spend too much time sit-down dining, you won't make it to the after-clubs on time.
Just grab a quick bite on the go;;;;;;
If you're planning to hit the after-parties, I highly recommend booking your hotel near Patong Beach.
Trying to catch a Grab after the clubs close is incredibly, incredibly difficult.
I strongly, strongly suggest a hotel within walking distance of the Patong strip.
If you aren't planning on doing after-parties, then beachside accommodations, hotels, or pool villas further north of Patong are also great.

Both cash and credit cards are accepted, but you must top up your wristband in increments of 1,000 Baht. Please note that there is a surcharge for card top-ups, and the remaining balance is non-refundable.
The price varies depending on the DJ. On the day Eli Brown performed, it was 1,500 Baht. On days with relatively less famous DJs, the entrance fee was 700 Baht.
It takes at least 1 to 1.5 hours or more from the festival venue to Patong. Traffic is heavy and it is difficult to catch a Grab, so if you are with a group, it is recommended to book a private bus in advance.
It is recommended to book accommodation near Patong Beach in Phuket, where the afterparties are held. It is very difficult to catch a Grab after the clubs close in the early morning, so staying within walking distance is the most convenient.
The ticket price for the official afterparty held on Monday at Yona Beach Club was ~$64. Locodice participated as a guest DJ, and the performance was well worth the ticket price.
