Dandong offers the rare, extraordinary experience
of seeing North Korea with your own naked eyes.

The easiest and most comfortable way
to reach Dandong from Dalian is by train.
Today, I'll walk you through exactly how to book
your Dalian to Dandong train tickets online!

If it's your first time booking train tickets in China,
you might feel a bit intimidated.
But don't worry, it's actually incredibly simple!
Just follow my step-by-step guide below.
First, we'll be booking our China train tickets
using Trip.com, so head over to the site!

You'll see the search screen right away.
Enter the following details to search:
Departure: Dalian (All Stations)
Destination: Dandong
Departure & Return Dates: Select your travel dates

This will allow you to check the timetables
for both outbound and inbound trains at a glance.
The site will even highlight popular or recommended
train times for your convenience.
📍 Dalian to Dandong Train Ticket Prices:
Expect to pay around ~$18 for a one-way ticket,
and roughly ~$38 for a round trip.

2 hours and 20 minutes, which is faster than others.)

for both the departure and return trips,
you can check the prices for Second and First Class.
Second Class seats are incredibly comfortable
(similar to standard fast trains in the US or Europe),
so there's really no need to splurge on First Class!

your passport serves as your physical train ticket!
Your passport will be scanned at the gates,

message indicating that your ticket is being issued.
