Before we dive into the detailed itinerary,
if you're still looking for the perfect place to stay in Dalian,
I'd love to share my top hotel recommendation with you!
It's none other than the fantastic ibis Styles Dalian Railway Station Hotel!
My main reason for choosing it? The unbeatable location!

Right in front, behind the Pavilion, you'll find the Dalianxiangchang Shopping Mall,
meaning most amazing restaurants and cafes are just a short walk away!
What's more, Dalian Railway Station is incredibly close,
which was super convenient for my day trip to nearby Dandong!
But the best part? The ibis Styles Hotel offers
luxurious rooms at such an affordable price,
making the value for money truly exceptional!

My room was a fantastic duplex with a bathtub on the first floor,
perfect for truly indulging in a relaxing 'hotel-cation'!
❗️After comparing various booking platforms, I discovered that the
ibis Styles Dalian Railway Station is
most affordably booked through the link below!
(This hotel is quite popular, so I recommend checking your dates and

Now, let's dive into the detailed 3-night, 4-day Dalian, China travel
itinerary below!
Day 1

On your first day, after arriving in Dalian from Incheon,
you can simply drop your bags at the hotel and leisurely dive into the city's highlights!

Your first urban adventure takes you to the magnificent Lianhuashan Viewpoint!
This place offers spectacular views of the Xinghai Bay Bridge and
sweeping, unobstructed panoramas of Dalian — it's truly breathtaking!

What's more, on your journey to Lianhuashan Viewpoint,
Since you can see wild deer, it would be wonderful to visit with your children and
enjoy some deer spotting.

What's more, make sure to visit the popular photo spot at Xinghai Bay Bridge
and snap some once-in-a-lifetime photos!
For directions to Lotus Mountain Observatory and Xinghai Bay Bridge photo spot,
please refer to the previous post below.

Our next destination is Xinghai Square.
Here, you can admire the Xinghai Bay Bridge
that we saw from the Lotus Mountain Observatory!

Here, you can enjoy street beer from a vending machine, and it was also perfect for dinner at
Xiding, which is famous for its sea urchin dumplings!

Just a heads-up: Xiding often has a really long wait, so
I recommend joining the queue as soon as you arrive
in the vicinity of Xinghai Square.

It's particularly essential to visit Xinghai Square in the evening.
That's because you can catch the Xinghai Bay Bridge laser show!
📍The laser show times are as follows:
Mon-Thu: 7:30 PM, 8:30 PM
Fri-Sun: 7:30 PM, 8:30 PM, 9:30 PM

Also, across from Xinghai Bay Bridge, be sure to snap some pictures at the 'I Love Dalian'
building. It will truly make your Dalian trip feel real!

The perfect end to Day 1 is the Jiaotong University Night Market.
Jiaotong University Night Market is a medium-sized night market,
making it perfect for a casual stroll.

With all sorts of skewers, Guo Bao Rou (sweet and sour pork), drinks, and more,
there's a continuous line of delicious snacks,
making it perfect for enjoying late into the night.
Day 2
On the second day, we embarked on a trip to Dandong, a fascinating nearby excursion from Dalian.

Dandong is a small city located near the border between China and North Korea,
allowing you to see North Korea with your own eyes.
If you take a high-speed train from Dalian, it takes about 2 and a half hours.
It's a place that takes a day to explore, making it perfect for a day trip.

Round-trip train tickets for Dalian - Dandong must be booked in advance to use them.
(Note that your passport serves as your train ticket, so you must accurately enter your passport number and full name when booking.)
You can book your round-trip train tickets directly in Korean below.

In Dandong, I recommend visiting the Yalu River Broken Bridge or taking a cruise to see North Korea up close.

For a detailed itinerary and review of a Dandong day trip
please refer to the previous post below!

Once you return to Dalian from Dandong,
I recommend visiting the Laojie Night Market to enjoy the second night of your trip!

It's a place where you can enjoy local treats like Guàn Bǐng (Chinese pancake), lamb skewers, fruits, Malatang (spicy numbing soup), and draft beer all in one spot.
Personally, while Laojie Night Market is smaller than Jiaotong University Night Market, I found it easier and better for browsing food!
Day 3

Day 3 is all about truly exploring Dalian city!
It's great to explore in the order of Dongguanjie Street, Russian Street, Zhongshan Square, and Oriental Water City.

Dongguanjie Street is a trendy area that gives off a slight vibe reminiscent of Seongsu-dong (in Seoul).
With many stylish cafes and photo spots, it's a must-visit if you love taking pictures.

Russian Street is where you can spot Russian-style buildings and
shops with Russian writing.
It's perfect for a relaxed stroll and offers a unique glimpse into another culture.

It's also a great spot to pick up souvenirs like Russian snacks and chocolates.

Next, head to Zhongshan Square and capture some amazing shots at the
trending photo zones popular on social media.

You might even find photographers there, so getting your photos taken in a
Chinese style could be a wonderful experience!

For your final city stop, visit Dongfang Water City, renowned for its beautiful night views.

Dongfang Water City is a destination crafted to resemble Venice, where you can even enjoy a gondola ride.

At Dongfang Water City, you can also enjoy a musical fountain show.
📍The Musical Fountain Show schedule is as follows:
Sun-Thu: 19:40
Fri, Sat: 19:40, 20:40

Keep in mind that the laser show starts at 19:30 and 20:30, so if you can,
try to arrive at :30 past the hour to enjoy both the laser show and the musical fountain show!
Day 4

On your last day, enjoy some supermarket shopping in the morning before
heading back home.

I visited the supermarket located in the basement of Dalian Shopping Mall (Dalian Shangchang)
to shop for Chinese souvenirs.

After finishing your shopping, head to the airport and board your flight home,
bringing your 3-night, 4-day itinerary to a perfect close!
