Bluewater Maribago Cebu Review 2026: Mactan Family Resort Stay
Find out why Bluewater Maribago Beach Resort in Mactan was our top pick for a multi-generational family vacation to Cebu, offering great value and comfort!
For our multi-generational family trip to Cebu,
we chose
Cebu Bluewater Maribago as our first accommodation.
Many flights to Cebu
arrive late at night,
so travelers often look for '0.5 night' accommodations upon arrival.
However, since I was traveling with
my in-laws and my sister-in-law's family –
a truly large family trip –
I knew moving hotels on the first day would be exhausting.
That's why I opted for a value-for-money accommodation in Mactan right from the start and stayed there.

Stay Review
Check-in 15:00
Check-out 11:00
Free Wi-Fi
I booked through 'Cebuae', a partner agency of the
'Enjoy Cebu 100 Times More' cafe.
Initially, I was a bit worried
about booking through an agency.
However, I confirmed they were a long-standing partner of Cebu100,
the price was competitive after comparing, and
best of all, I could communicate quickly with the staff via KakaoTalk,
which was incredibly convenient and helpful!
So, I trusted them and made the reservation;
and thanks to them, our trip went smoothly! ^ ^

Due to a flight delay of over two hours,
we arrived at Cebu Bluewater Maribago
around 3:15 AM local time...
📍 Mactan-Cebu International Airport
Lapu-Lapu Airport Rd, Lapu-Lapu City, 6016 Cebu, Philippines
📍 Bluewater Maribago Beach Resort
Buyong, Maribago Mactan Island PH, Lapu-Lapu City, 6015 Philippines
From Mactan-Cebu Airport,
we took a van pre-booked on Klook,
and the ride was about 15 minutes...
Since it was early morning, there was no traffic,
and we arrived quickly.

Enduring our fatigue,
we proceeded to check in.
My husband filled out the booking representative's information,
and also wrote down the English names of all guests staying.

While checking in,
they offered us refreshing lemon water as a welcome drink!

While my husband was checking in,
I took a look at the Cebu Bluewater Maribago map.
It's divided into Amuma Wing, Garden Wing, and Beach Wing,
and there are three swimming pools.

They also gave us the Wi-Fi ID and password.
The Wi-Fi, however, was a bit hit-and-miss
(couldn't send photos from the room ㅠ).
Cebu Bluewater Maribago Deluxe

The room we booked was a Cebu Bluewater Maribago Deluxe,
located in the Garden Wing.
My room number was
247.
Being a bit tucked away,
one advantage was the privacy.
The drawback, however,
was that we couldn't enjoy the view of a swimming pool
right in front of our accommodation.

Cebu Bluewater Maribago Deluxe Room
It's a simple room with two double beds
and a vanity.

The floor was tiled,
and it was neat and tidy, without any fuss.

Before booking, I read through the reviews,
and many recommended bringing disposable sheets
because the bedding was described as damp.
I had a lot of luggage,
so after some deliberation, I ended up coming without them...
And it really *was* damp....?!
Even after blasting the air conditioning
and coming back after going out, the dampness just wouldn't go away ㅠㅠ
It seems like the condition varies from room to room,
but if you've booked a Deluxe Room like I did,
and you're sensitive to bedding,
I strongly recommend bringing your own disposable bed sheets.

Between the beds,
you'll find a telephone and remote controls.
There were also power outlets right next to it,
which was super convenient for charging my phone.
The outlets were 220V,
and could be used without a separate adapter.

There's a vanity,
and inside, you'll find a hairdryer.
Just a heads-up about the hairdryer: the cord kept coming loose, and it wasn't very powerful..

When you open the closet,
you'll find a safe and indoor slippers.

At the bar area next to it,
there were bottled water bottles.
We had already brought water from Korea,
so we drank that instead.

Here's a look at the bathroom in the Deluxe Room at Bluewater Maribago, Cebu.
The bathroom... well, that was a bit disappointing too...
When you entered the room, there was a smell,
and it turned out to be coming from the bathroom ㅠ
And the sink water didn't drain very well either....
I wonder if I just got unlucky with the room this time,
but there were quite a few minor disappointments.
ㅠㅠㅠㅠ

The sink area.
Disposable toothbrushes and
shower caps were provided.

In the bathtub area,
there was shampoo and shower gel.
Thankfully, I brought a shower filter,
and the water quality was so clean that the filter barely changed color at all! ^ ^

Lock the door with the key!

Room 247 is located a bit tucked away,
so you need to step out just a little to the side
to see the pool.

Still, if I were to jot down the good parts,
it was definitely a place that gave off those perfect resort vibes.
Go check out Maribago's special deals!

When you step out of your room and stroll through the resort,
every single view that catches your eye
is just so beautiful.

It was precisely these kinds of enchanting scenes that made me
choose Cebu Bluewater Maribago
as my first accommodation, and
it truly didn't disappoint!

And with just a short walk,
there's Bluewater Maribago's private beach,
truly amplifying those vacation vibes! ^ ^

The pool was also perfect for kids to play in,
and with such a tranquil atmosphere, I totally understood why everyone recommends it
as a great value-for-money accommodation in Mactan.
I'll continue talking about the pool and breakfast
in the next post! ^ ^
