The Cebu Bluewater Maribago Resort was fantastic in so many ways – from its location and room condition to its facilities and price.
Recommended Accommodation Location for Family Trips
When it comes to Cebu, you'll find Mactan Island, home to the airport, and then Cebu City further north.
Most of the main resorts, including Maribago, frequently visited by Koreans, are located on Mactan Island.
If you're keen on city sightseeing and shopping, I'd suggest hotels in Cebu City. However, for family trips, Mactan is generally my go-to recommendation.
I stayed at Bluewater Maribago Resort, and it was truly a place where I could fully soak in that distinct Philippine resort atmosphere, something I hadn't quite experienced before.
A Deluxe Room typically costs around ~$70-100 per night, and currently, booking through Agoda is the most affordable option.
Even better, for families traveling with children, booking through Agoda allows up to two children to stay for free, making it an excellent value for money! :)

I stayed at the Cebu Bluewater Maribago Resort for 5 days, and it was quite convenient for getting around town and for going on tours.
With numerous swimming pools and even a private beach, it's an absolute paradise for water lovers! Haha

Deluxe Room 263
The room I stayed in was the Deluxe Room, which is the most basic room type at Maribago. Even though it's a standard room, it's quite spacious.
It can accommodate up to 2 adults + 2 children or even 3 adults, making it a great option for families or groups of friends traveling together.
Actually, when I checked on Agoda, it showed that you could book for up to 4 adults. However, since there wasn't much difference in price compared to booking two rooms, for a party of two adults, I'd even recommend booking two rooms.

for four adults, haha!
As this Cebu resort is fairly new,
the room condition was absolutely
pristine.
You'll find two double beds
placed side-by-side.
My friend and I each had plenty of space to spread out comfortably. So good! Haha.
Unlike city hotels, resorts, by their nature,
can be more susceptible to mosquitoes, so it was a thoughtful touch
to find an electric mosquito repellent provided in the room.
In front of the beds, there's a TV,
a desk, and a mirror, which came in handy
for organizing our belongings and getting ready each morning.
The minibar is well-stocked with an electric kettle,
cups, tea bags, coffee, and water.
Just a quick heads-up:
it's generally best to avoid drinking the water provided
in glass bottles, as it might upset your stomach.
I highly recommend grabbing some bottled drinking water
at the airport before you head to your accommodation.
The mini-fridge is stocked with drinks,
but keep in mind they come with an extra charge.
The wardrobe is surprisingly spacious,
which would be perfect for storing luggage, especially
if you're traveling as a family.
You'll find all the essentials provided, like
robes, hangers, an umbrella, and a safe.
They even provide comfy slippers that you can wear
around the room! And here's a little secret: you can take them
home with you, so don't forget to pack them in your suitcase when you leave! 😉
The bathroom was also spotlessly clean.
It featured a layout with a vanity sink right as you enter,
and a bathtub nestled further inside.
While basic amenities are provided,
their quality isn't outstanding,
so I'd recommend bringing your own toiletries for a more luxurious experience. 😉
The private terrace space in each room
is also a wonderful bonus!
Sitting on the terrace
and looking out at the lush green view
was absolutely beautiful.
Depending on the room you're assigned,
you might get an ocean view or a garden view, and while they're all different,
this garden view was truly unique
and perfectly captured that dreamy resort vibe!
The Pools
There are a total of three swimming pools here.
The atmosphere at all the pools is fantastic,
and the photos turn out beautifully,
making them perfect for a refreshing swim and some serious relaxation.
Plus, there aren't too many people swimming, so
if you time it right, you can practically have a pool all to yourself
and play to your heart's content! Haha!
There's even a kiddie pool, which is great for children to play in.
The main pool also has a slide,
so make sure to ride it plenty of times!
Private Beach
The private beach had such a wonderful vibe! :)
There were plenty of sunbeds,
and hammocks scattered about,
making it perfect for swimming and relaxing by the sea.
While the pools had hardly anyone,
when I came over to the beach,
all the hotel guests were gathered here! Lol.
The sun was glorious, with Westerners tanning,
and there were no waves, plus the water was lukewarm,
making it just right for a swim.
Breakfast
Breakfast at Cebu Bluewater Maribago!
It's served buffet-style,
and they offer a great variety of Filipino, Western, and Asian dishes.
For breakfast, you'll find most of the essentials well-prepared: eggs, salads,
noodles, bread, fruits, yogurt, and more.
There weren't any dishes with strong, unique spice aromas,
which meant
it was generally quite pleasant.
And oh, the bread section! So many tempting treats,
a true bread lover like me was absolutely mesmerized! Haha.
During my 4-night stay at Bluewater Maribago in Cebu,
the breakfast menu didn't drastically change, but I never got tired of it!
It was consistently delicious, and I was really happy with it :)
And here's a pro tip for early risers! If you're heading out for an early morning tour,
like the incredible whale shark tour,
you can request a packed breakfast the night before instead of missing out on your meal.
You'll receive a convenient packed lunch,
so make sure to keep this in mind
when planning your early morning adventures.

pure relaxation and rejuvenation! :)
For just over ~$100,
being able to stay at such a fantastic resort
was truly wonderful!
But what truly stood out was the incredible staff – every single person we encountered was
so friendly and welcoming, making it one of the most memorable resorts I've ever stayed at!
It’s clear why it's so popular with Korean travelers,
and if I ever return to Cebu, I would absolutely love to stay here again!
Being so close to the airport makes arrivals and departures a breeze, too!
