Buyeo is truly a fantastic place for a run.
With the beautiful Baekmagang River and stunning landscapes, it's a runner's paradise.
The paths are well-maintained, serving as both bike lanes and walking trails, making it easy to hit your stride.
That's why I've been hitting the trails for about 3 miles every other day here in Buyeo!
Here are my top Buyeo & Gyuam running courses!

1) Gyuam Naru터 (Ferry Dock) Walking Path
This spot boasts excellent bike paths and walking trails.
You get to run with breathtaking views like these!
While it can get quite warm during the day (especially in summer),
it's well-lit at night and located near residential areas, making it a safe spot for an evening jog!

2) Baekje Bridge
This bridge connects Gyuam and Buyeo!
It's currently my most frequented running spot.
It's less crowded than the Gyuam Naru터 path, and you'll often see other runners here.
I love running across the bridge to Baekmagang Theme Park or Gudeurae Naru터.
Alternatively, you can loop around here and then continue to the Gyuam walking path.
Baekje Bridge is also a sunset and view hotspot!

3) Gudeurae Naru터 (Ferry Dock)
If Gyuam has Gyuam Naru터, then Buyeo has Gudeurae Naru터!
This place offers truly stunning sunsets.
Running along this path feels absolutely amazing.
It's beautiful during the day too,
and in the fall, it's covered in cosmos flowers.

4) Baekmagang Theme Park
Cross Baekje Bridge, and to your left is Gudeurae, to your right is Baekmagang Theme Park.
There's an observation deck here.
This path is great for running because it's not heavily trafficked, but be cautious at night due to some cars.
Luckily, there's also a bike path below where you can run!
Just a heads up: at night, be prepared for quite a few bugs that might fly into your face!
In the fall, it's an area full of silver grass, so I plan to try a silver grass field course then.
+ Bonus (Courses I Want to Try)

4) Gungnamji Pond
You'll see a few runners here and there.
I wonder if I could hit ~3 miles if I ran all the paths around Gungnamji...?
I'd love to run while admiring the lotus flowers.

5) Jeongnimsa Temple Site
Jeongnimsa Temple Site is more of a place you pass through.
It's not very large, so I don't think it would offer much distance for a dedicated run.

6) Busosanseong Fortress
Busosan is more like a gentle hill walk than a serious hike,
perfect for when you're starting out with trail running!
I've even seen a few trail runners enjoying the paths here.
There are so many diverse courses,
it feels like a fun challenge to conquer each section.

I'm really keen to try a 'Heritage Run' route that connects Gudeurae, Busosanseong Fortress, Jeongnimsa Temple Site, and Gungnamji Pond!
If you extend it to Naseong, it could be quite a long distance.
These days, I'm really into cultural heritage, so I find myself linking everything back to it, haha.
Buyeo x Gyuam
Running Course Combinations

1) Baekje Bridge x Gyuam Naru터 Walking Path
Not bad, but the flow can be interrupted when transitioning from Baekje Bridge to Gyuam Naru터.

2) Baekje Bridge x Gudeurae Naru터
A great combination for chasing sunsets.
Here too, the flow might be interrupted during the transition, with some ups and downs.

3) Baekje Bridge x Baekmagang Theme Park
Excellent for a continuous run.
Just watch out for cars and bugs!

4) Gyuam Naru터
Once you pass the main section of this pure course,
it gets quite dark and overgrown with grass...
and can become a bit monotonous.
I find myself running combinations 1 and 2 the most!
Next time, I'll bring you a dedicated Buyeo Heritage Run course.
The Gyuamnaruteo walking path is relatively safe for night running as it is well-lit and located near apartment complexes. On the other hand, Baekmagang Theme Park has cars driving at night and many insects, so you should run carefully there.
This course is great for a continuous run, but caution is needed at night due to cars and many insects. It's also a good idea to use the bicycle path located below the Baekmagang Theme Park section.
Gudeurae Naruteo is a place with truly beautiful sunsets, and you can enjoy picturesque views during the day as well. In autumn, in particular, you can run along paths filled with cosmos flowers.
Busosanseong Fortress is a bit like hiking, but it's more of a gentle hill, making it excellent for beginners in trail running. The course offers various routes, so you can enjoy it like completing challenges.
