Budapest Cruise Booking and Price |
A Budapest cruise allows you to admire major attractions like the Royal Palace, Gellért Hill, and Széchenyi Chain Bridge right from the waters of the Danube.

Category | Official Info (October 2026) |
Duration | Approx. 60 min |
Price | From €12 |

I compared prices across different booking sites.
When I compared based on the same date and similar time slots,
Klook had the lowest price among the three sites I checked, coming in at ~$13.

Evening slots are very popular,
so if you have a specific night view time in mind,
I recommend booking in advance.

Cruise Pier and Boarding |
The Budapest cruise I took departed from a pier
on the Buda side.

It's not near the Parliament building itself,
but rather on the opposite side of the Danube, facing the Parliament.
Thinking of it this way makes it easy to find.

To ensure a smooth boarding experience,
I recommend arriving at least 15 minutes before departure.
If you're hoping to snag a window seat,
I felt it's best to arrive a bit earlier than that.
However, keep in mind that your preferred seat isn't guaranteed,
so it's good to be aware of that.

What time should you take the night cruise? |
I took the 9 PM departure and disembarked around 10 PM.
From the cruise, you can see the Parliament Building,
Fisherman's Bastion, Buda Castle, Széchenyi Chain Bridge, and other
iconic Budapest night views from the river.

Especially the Parliament Building – you get to see it from different angles
on the way out and back,
which makes for some fantastic photo opportunities.

Since sunset times vary between summer and winter,
if your goal is to experience the night views, be sure to check the sunset time for your travel date
along with the cruise's departure time.
Lower Deck & Upper Deck Seating and Onboard Facilities |
Initially, I sat on the lower deck near a window.
The advantage was being able to comfortably enjoy the night view from my seat,
but on the way back, I went up to the outdoor upper deck.

Seeing the night view while feeling the river breeze, without any glass between you and the scenery,
offers a completely different vibe compared to watching from the lower deck.
So, rather than staying in one spot,
if the boat allows for movement, it's a great idea to experience both the indoor and outdoor areas
to fully appreciate the views.

The boat I took had a snack bar onboard.
At the time, they were selling snacks, ice cream, drinks, and beer,
and I even bought a beer to enjoy.

A Korean audio guide is also provided,
but since it's accessed via a personal mobile app,
it's a good idea to bring your earphones and phone.

Mini's Planning Tips |
1. Check Sunset Time + Departure Time |
First, check the sunset time for your travel date.
2. Allocate About 1 Hour for Your Evening Itinerary |
Allow ample time for waiting before boarding and traveling to the pier.
3. Combine with Buda Castle & Fisherman's Bastion on the Same Day |
After sightseeing on the Buda side, have dinner,
then take the cruise – it helps connect your itinerary smoothly.
Overall Review |
If you want to see several of Budapest's incredible night view spots
all at once in a short amount of time,
a cruise is definitely worth adding to your itinerary.
Especially being able to gaze at the Parliament Building from the Danube River,
and since it's only about 1 hour, it wasn't a burden to fit into my evening schedule.
If you're booking a cruise,
first check the sunset and departure times for your travel date,
and if possible, enjoy the different night views
from both the indoor and outdoor areas.
