Hey there, fellow adventurers! (●'◡'●)
I'm thrilled to share my latest discovery with you.
Recently, my husband and I were looking for the perfect relaxing getaway – a place where we could swim and truly unwind. Since our usual spot was unavailable, I dove deep into researching hotels that offered both a great pool and a peaceful atmosphere.
And did I find a gem! Today, I'm excited to introduce you to the Ensana Thermal Margaret Island Hotel, a superb 4-star spa resort. Nestled on Margaret Island, right in the heart of the Danube River, it's a tranquil haven perfectly designed for rest, relaxation, and rejuvenation.

Thermal Baths & Facilities

Enjoy access to an indoor lap pool, outdoor pool, thermal spa waters, sauna, and more.
2. Walking & Jogging
Margaret Island boasts unique green spaces and well-maintained jogging paths, perfect for an invigorating morning run or a leisurely stroll.
3. Other Facilities
The hotel is fully equipped with restaurants, cafes/bars, a fitness center, and a wellness center.
These were the main reasons I chose this hotel!
I really wanted an indoor pool with proper lanes, access to thermal baths, and the chance for a morning jog 🏃♀️.
It's surprisingly hard to find hotels with dedicated lap pools, so this was a huge plus!
Hotel Ambiance

We arrived at 3:30 PM and checked in.
I had initially booked a river view room, but we were given a garden view. When I mentioned it, they kindly switched us without any hassle.
However, since we were on the second floor, the view wasn't particularly spectacular anyway...

In the lobby restaurant, you'll notice many guests dressed casually. Since most visitors are here for the swimming and spa, it's perfectly acceptable to walk around in your bathrobe! ^_^

There's a souvenir shop that even sells swimsuits and flip-flops. As expected for a hotel shop, prices are a bit higher.

Complimentary drinks are available next to the front desk, perfect for grabbing a refreshment as you come and go.
Room Atmosphere & Condition

The Bedroom
Our room was impeccably clean and straightforward, just how we like it.
Two types of water were provided: still mineral water and sparkling water. There was also a selection of teas and coffee available.

The Bathroom
I was genuinely surprised by how spacious the bathroom was! The shower stall felt like it took up half the room, offering plenty of space for two people to comfortably wash up, which was a definite plus.
Amenities included hand wash, shampoo, body wash, a shower cap, and cotton swabs. Remember to bring your own shower puff or lotion!

"River View" (or as I like to call it, "Garden View")
Even though it was technically a river view, being on a lower floor meant we didn't get much of a glimpse of the river itself. Oh well! 😢
