June is the sweet spot for travel! Beat the blazing heat and summer crowds with these three incredible, personally tested overseas destinations.

Top Travel Destinations for June
Personally Tested & Recommended
June is the absolute sweet spot for travel.
You beat the blazing mid-summer heat, and it's right before
the peak July and August vacation rush, meaning flight prices are still surprisingly reasonable!
Today, I'm sharing three of my favorite international destinations
that I've personally visited in June and absolutely loved.
1. Kamakura, Japan

If you love that nostalgic, cozy Japanese coastal vibe,
Kamakura in June is a dream come true.
You might recognize it as the iconic backdrop from the anime Slam Dunk,
but it's evolved into one of the trendiest small towns to visit!
Located just an hour by train from Tokyo,
it makes for the perfect coastal escape.
It's highly recommended as a day trip!

Kamakura is famous for the vintage Enoden train
that runs right alongside the ocean.
On a clear day, you can even spot Mount Fuji in the distance,
giving you that quintessential Japanese aesthetic.

The real reason I insist on visiting in June?
It's hydrangea season!
The tracks of the Enoden train are lined with
vibrant, blooming hydrangeas, turning the whole town into a postcard.

The most famous photo spot is Kamakurakokomae Station,
but honestly, it gets so packed with tourists that it's hard to get a good shot.
My tip? Walk a little further down the tracks.
There are so many hidden, quiet spots where the train rolls by.
Taking advantage of these secret locations is a must!

Pro-tip for Kamakura:
Go on a weekday and get there bright and early!
I made the mistake of going on a weekend afternoon once,
and I spent more time dodging crowds than enjoying the view!
2. Singapore

Singapore is tropical and warm year-round.
Some people think winter is better than summer for visiting,
but weather there is honestly the luck of the draw.
A friend of mine went in January and hit daily rain squalls,
while my late-May/early-June trip was pure sunshine every single day!

Plus, Singapore is built for comfort. With massive air-conditioned
shopping malls, stunning indoor observatories, and world-class hotels,
you'll spend a lot of time indoors or exploring the dazzling night views anyway.
So yes, June is a fantastic time to go!

I was just checking flight prices for Singapore,
and they are looking incredibly tempting right now!
A couple of years ago, I paid around ~$385 for a round trip.
Even with current fuel surcharges in 2026, I'm seeing fares
in the ~$308 range, which is an absolute steal.

Singapore is especially hot right now because it's
the home port for Asia's first-ever Disney Cruise!
If you're planning a family vacation or just want a magical getaway,
booking a Disney Cruise is a brilliant choice.

The beauty of a cruise is that your dining, accommodation,
and world-class entertainment are all bundled together.
Plus, you get to explore Singapore before or after you sail!

When you book the Disney Cruise, you can get 1-night hotel support
+ a ~$131 flight discount through special promos right now!
It's a fantastic way to cut down on costs.
Considering decent Singapore hotels easily run ~$231 to ~$308 a night,
saving on accommodation makes this a massive deal.
Definitely look into it if you're heading that way!

3. Barcelona, Spain

Out of everywhere I've traveled in June, my absolute
favorite destination has to be Barcelona, Spain.
The weather, the food, the sights, the vibe—everything is flawless ★

Barcelona is perfect for a romantic honeymoon,
a fun girls' trip, or a memorable family vacation.
It's a city that truly has something for everyone!
And the food? The culinary scene is incredibly approachable,
making it a foodie's paradise.

Between the mouth-watering tapas, fresh paella, wine, and sangria,
eating your way through the city is half the fun. It was easily
the best food I had during my entire month-long Euro trip!

Here's the catch: by July and August, Barcelona can bake
in temperatures well over 104°F, making heavy sightseeing exhausting.
That's why June is the ultimate sweet spot.
The weather is phenomenally comfortable!
Think t-shirts during the day and a light windbreaker for the breezy evenings.

I spent about a week here, and honestly, just wandering
through the local markets and getting lost in the alleyways was magic.
I highly recommend taking a day trip via bus tour
to Montserrat or the coastal town of Sitges while you're there!

Also, with the iconic Sagrada Familia finally nearing its historic completion,
there has never been a better time to visit. If you want an
unforgettable European escape, Barcelona is calling your name!
Word on the street is that airline fuel surcharges might be creeping up again soon.
If you're eyeing a trip this June or later in the summer,
I'd highly recommend locking in your flights ASAP!
