This time, my parents went on a trip to the US,
and they flew with Air Premia, which offers a great combination of price and convenience.
My mom, who used to insist on flying only with Asiana,
was so satisfied when we flew to Hawaii together last year,
that she chose Air Premia again this year!
From the Incheon-Washington direct flight,
we'll cover everything from the Air Premia terminal, seats, and even the in-flight meals.

1. Air Premia Incheon-Washington/Dulles Direct Flight
While there aren't many direct flights from Incheon to Washington,
Air Premia operates a direct route
that goes all the way to Washington D.C.'s Dulles International Airport!
Dulles International Airport (IAD) is a frequently used airport for trips to Washington D.C. or for traveling to the Virginia and Maryland areas.
2. How to Book
I usually take advantage of credit card benefits and book with Trip.com
where I can find the cheapest fares!
If you book flights through Trip.com,
you can get up to 25% off hotels for 90 days,
which is why I often use Trip.com.

While flight prices vary depending on the date,
they were generally around ~$345 cheaper than Korean Air.
Air Premia offers great value,
so it can sell out quickly. If your travel plans are set,
I highly recommend booking early!

After checking in at Counter C,
you can drop off your checked baggage!
💡 Long-Haul Flight Essentials
Neck pillow, power bank, earphones, light jacket
If your ticket has SSSS printed on it,
you'll undergo a secondary security screening before boarding.
Perhaps because it's a flight to the US, the pre-boarding screening seemed a bit more
thorough!
Boarding takes place at Gate 7.
The gate was located a bit further inside.
We boarded a Boeing 787-9 aircraft,
with a seating arrangement of Premium Economy 2-3-2
and Economy 3-3-3!
💡 Pro Tip
Since it's a relatively new route,
if you choose seats at the back, sometimes if you're lucky,
you might even get a 'lie-flat economy' experience or have two seats to yourself!
(My mom and dad actually got two seats each this way!)
The seats weren't narrow, even for an average adult woman!
It seemed like the aircraft was designed to be a bit more spacious.
A blanket and earphones were provided at each seat.
💡 Pro Tip
There aren't many movies available, so it would be a good idea to
download some movies beforehand to watch during the flight.
You'll need to bring a USB type charging cable.
In-flight Meal
You can choose between Bibimbap and Pork Rice Bowl.
A salad and a chocolate fudge bread dessert are also included.
My mom had Bibimbap and my dad had the Pork Rice Bowl.
Since it was a 10 AM flight and they hadn't eaten yet, they were quite hungry,
so they really enjoyed their in-flight meals! Haha.
About an hour before landing,
another in-flight meal was served.
You could choose between Jjajang Rice Bowl and Chicken Rice Bowl,
and my parents said the Jjajang Rice Bowl was delicious!
In-flight Shop
Drinks ~$3 / Beer ~$3
Wine ~$6 / Liquor ~$6
They also sold alcoholic beverages, other drinks, and even cocktail sets!
Snacks ~$2-3
Cup Noodles ~$3
With snacks and cup noodles also available for purchase,
it was great to have options when you got a little peckish while watching a movie 🍜
My Mama and Papa endured a 13-hour and 50-minute flight.

Embarking on a flight of nearly 16 hours –
my review of the return flight begins now!
After checking in, I took the airport subway to the gate.
It was the same Boeing 787-9 as the plane I took departing from Korea,
and the seat configuration was exactly the same!
Just like the outbound flight from Korea,
there aren't many movies available, so you absolutely must
download movies before boarding to survive 16 hours...!
In-flight Meals
After boarding the plane at 12:20 PM,
they served the first meal an hour later, which was perfect for lunch.
I could choose between Chicken Donburi and Bibimbap.
I chose Bibimbap, and it was fresh with a side salad.
And as a delightful little bonus, a dorayaki came as dessert!
About 3 hours before landing, they served the second meal,
and I could choose between Beef Donburi and Pork Donburi.
I opted for the Beef Donburi, which was quite good,
and it came with fruit and a chocolate fudge.
The chocolate fudge was super sweet, so my dad wasn't a big fan 😂

Satisfying my mom, who is a loyal Asiana customer,

For Economy Light seats, checked baggage up to 23kg and carry-on baggage up to 10kg are permitted. These regulations apply identically to both Incheon-Washington flight YP135 and Washington-Incheon flight YP136.
On flight YP135, for the first meal, you can choose between Bibimbap and Pork Rice Bowl. Approximately one hour before landing, a second meal of Jjajang Rice Bowl or Chicken Rice Bowl will be provided.
